Physics-based seismic analysis of ancient wood structure:fault-to-structure simulation

based on the domain reduction method,this study employs an SEM-FEM hybrid workflow which integrates the advantages of the spectral element method(SEM)for flexible and highly efficient simulation of seismic wave propagation in a three-dimensional(3D)regional-scale geophysics model and the finite element method(FEM)for fine simulation of structural response including soil-structure interaction,and performs a physics-based simulation from initial fault rupture on an ancient wood *** verification of the hybrid workflow,a large-scale model of an ancient wood structure in the Beijing area,The Tower of Buddhist Incense,is established and its responses under the 1665 Tongxian earthquake and the 1730 Yiheyuan earthquake are *** results from the simulated ground motion and seismic response of the wood structure under the two earthquakes demonstrate that this hybrid workflow can be employed to efficiently provide insight into the relationships between geophysical parameters and the structural response,and is of great significance toward accurate input for seismic simulation of structures under specific site and fault conditions.

The infamous type Ⅳ failure within the fine-grained heat-affected zone (FGHAZ) in G115 steel weldments seriously threatens the safe operation of ultra-supercritical (USC) power *** this work,the traditional thermo-mechanical treatment was modified via the replacement of hot-rolling with cold rolling,i.e.,normalizing,cold rolling,and tempering (NCT),which was developed to improve the creep strength of the FGHAZ in G115 steel *** NCT treatment effectively promoted the dissolution of preformed M_(23)C_(6)particles and relieved the boundary segregation of C and Cr during welding thermal cycling,which accelerated the dispersed reprecipitation of M_(23)C_(6) particles within the fresh reaustenitized grains during post-weld heat *** addition,the precipitation of Cu-rich phases and MX particles was promoted evidently due to the deformation-induced *** a result,the interacting actions between precipitates,dislocations,and boundaries during creep were reinforced *** this strategy,the creep rupture life of the FGHAZ in G115 steel weldments can be prolonged by 18.6%,which can further push the application of G115 steel in USC power plants.

Food allergy as a global health problem threatens food *** pollen(BP)is a typical food with allergenic potentials,although it performs various nutritional/pharmacological functions to *** this study,lactic acid bacteria(LAB)were used to ferment Brassica napus BP for alleviating its *** novel allergens(glutaredoxin,oleosin-B2,catalase and lipase)were identified with significant decreases in LAB-fermented BP(FBP)than natural BP by ***,metabolomics analysis showed significant increases of 28 characteristic oligopeptides and amino acids in FBP versus BP,indicating the degradation of LAB on ***,FBP showed alleviatory effects in baLB/c mice,which relieved pathological symptoms and lowered production of allergic *** high-throughput sequencing analysis showed that FBP could regulate gut microbiota and metabolism to strengthen immunity,which were closely correlated with the alleviation of allergic *** findings could contribute to the development and utilization of hypoallergenic BP products.

Study on Clogging Mechanism and Water Sediment Movement Mechanism of Patch-Type Drip Irrigation Emitters

As one of the key components of drip irrigation technology， the existence of sediment particles seriously affects the service life of emitters and restricts the popularization of drip irrigation technology. In this paper， two kinds of patch drip irrigation emitters are used as research object， and the anti-clogging performance experiment is carried out in the laboratory. The dynamic changes in emitters’ clogging characteristics (Dra， Cu) were statistically analyzed. The movement mechanism of emitter clogging and discharging sediment was studied. The effects of emitter structure and position factors on emitter clogging were analyzed. The results show that: (1) The pressure-compensated emitter has better anti-clogging performance， and its service life is 227.8% of the labyrinth channel emitter. (2) Single structural factor can not evaluate the anti-clogging performance of emitters. All factors causing emitter clogging should be considered comprehensively. (3) All emitters have sensitive clogging sediment inside， but only when sediment content is high can it easily cause blockage. The results show that when the sensitive sediment content is 5.46% and 5.54%， it does not affect the clogging characteristics of the emitters. (4) The discharge of sediment V90 from the emitter is affected by the accumulation effect of clogged sediment. The experimental results show that the emitter can discharge up to 50% of the accumulated clogged sediment without clogging. In comparison， the emitter with clogging can only discharge up to 25% of the accumulated clogged sediment. These results could provide references for the application and promotion of drip irrigation technology.

The damage of rock joints or fractures upon shear includes the surface damage occurring at the contact asperities and the damage beneath the shear surface within the host *** latter is commonly known as off-fault damage and has been much less investigated than the surface *** main contribution of this study is to compare the results of direct shear tests conducted on saw-cut planar joints and tension-induced rough granite joints under normal stresses ranging from 1 MPa to 50 *** shear-induced off-fault damages are quantified and compared with the optical microscope *** results clearly show that the planar joints slip stably under all the normal stresses except under 50 MPa,where some local fractures and regular stick-slip occur towards the end of the *** post-peak stress drop and stick-slip occur for all the rough *** residual shear strength envelopes for the rough joints and the peak shear strength envelope for the planar joints almost *** root mean square(RMS)of asperity height for the rough joints decreases while it increases for the planar joint after shear,and a larger normal stress usually leads to a more significant decrease or increase in ***,the extent of off-fault damage(or damage zone)increases with normal stress for both planar and rough joints,and it is restricted to a very thin layer with limited micro-cracks beneath the planar joint *** comparison,the thickness of the damage zone for the rough joints is about an order of magnitude larger than that of the planar joints,and the coalesced micro-cracks are generally inclined to the shear direction with acute *** findings obtained in this study contribute to a better understanding on the frictional behavior and damage characteristics of rock joints or fractures with different roughness.

Computational fluid dynamics simulation and experimental study on mixing performance of a three-dimensional circular cyclone-type microreactor

Microchannels enable the fast and efficient mixing of multiphase *** this study, a millimeter-scale three-dimensional(3D) circular cyclone-type microreactor was designed for the *** flow characteristics and mixing intensity were simulated by computational fluid dynamics simulations at a flow rate range of 12–96 m L/min using a water/ethyl acetate *** the 3D variable-diameter structure,the microreactor induced paired opposite vortices and abruptly changed the local pressure to achieve a stable turbulent effect within the theoretical range of laminar *** injection simulations indicated that sufficient mixing units successfully promote fluid ***-coupling experiments showed a segregation index of X_S= 0.00,039 within a residence time of 9 *** experiments on the nbutanol/succinic acid/water system showed that the 3D circular cyclone-type microreactor achieved 100%extraction efficiency(E) in 4.25 s, and the overall volume mass transfer coefficient(K_La) reached 0.05–1.5s^(-1) in 12–96 m L/*** isolated yield of the phase transfer alkylation and oxidation reactions in the 3D circular cyclone-type microreactor achieved 99% within 36 s, which was superior to the coil microreactor and batch reactor.

Soluble sugar and organic acids are key determinants of fruit organoleptic quality and directly affect the commodity value and economic returns of fruit *** performed whole-genome sequencing of the apple varieties Gala and Xiahongrou,along with their F1 hybrids,to construct a high-density bin *** quantitative genetic analysis pinpointed 53 quantitative trait loci(QTLs)related to 11 sugar and acid *** identified a candidate gene,MdNADP-ME,responsible for malate degradation,in a stable QTL on linkage group *** analysis revealed an A/C SNP in the promoter region(MEp-799)that influences binding of the MdMYB2 transcription factor,thereby affecting MdNADP-ME *** our study of various apple genotypes,this SNP has been demonstrated to be linked to malate and fructose *** also developed a dCAPS marker associated with fruit fructose *** results substantiate the role of MdNADP-ME in maintaining the equilibrium between sugar and acid contents in apple fruits.

The hydrolysis of MgH_(2) delivers high hydrogen capacity(15.2 wt%),which is very attractive for real-time hydrogen ***,the formation of a surface passivation Mg(OH)_(2) layer and the large excess of H_(2)O required to ensure complete hydrolysis are two key challenges for the MgH_(2) hydrolysis ***,a low-cost method is reported to synthesize MgH_(2)@Mg(BH_(4))_(2) composite via ball-milling MgH_(2) with cheap and widely available B_(2)O_(3)(or B(OH)_(3)).By adding small amounts of B_(2)O_(3),the in-situ formed Mg(BH_(4))_(2) could significantly promote the hydrolysis of MgH_(2).In particular,the MgH_(2)–10 wt%B_(2)O_(3) composite releases 1330.7 mL·g^(−1) H_(2)(close to 80%theoretical hydrogen generation H_(2))in H_(2)O and 1520.4 mL·g^(−1) H_(2)(about 95%)in 0.5 M MgCl_(2) in 60 min at 26℃ with hydrolysis rate of 736.9 mL·g^(−1)·min^(−1) and 960.9 mL·g^(−1)·min^(−1) H_(2) during the first minute of the hydrolysis,*** addition,the MgCl_(2) solution allows repeated use by filtering and exhibits high cycle stability(20 cycles),therefore leading to much reduced capacity loss caused by the excess H_(2)*** show that by introducing B_(2)O_(3) and recycling the 0.5 M MgCl_(2) solution,the system hydrogen capacity can approach 5.9 wt%,providing a promising hydrogen generation scheme to supply hydrogen to the fuel cells.

The flying foxes optimization(FFO)algorithm,as a newly introduced metaheuristic algorithm,is inspired by the survival tactics of flying foxes in heat wave *** preferentially selects the best-performing *** tendency will cause the newly generated solution to remain closely tied to the candidate optimal in the search *** address this issue,the paper introduces an opposition-based learning-based search mechanism for FFO algorithm(IFFO).Firstly,this paper introduces niching techniques to improve the survival list method,which not only focuses on the adaptability of individuals but also considers the population’s crowding degree to enhance the global search ***,an initialization strategy of opposition-based learning is used to perturb the initial population and elevate its ***,to verify the superiority of the improved search mechanism,IFFO,FFO and the cutting-edge metaheuristic algorithms are compared and analyzed using a set of test *** results prove that compared with other algorithms,IFFO is characterized by its rapid convergence,precise results and robust stability.
