Using Time History of Events and Macroscale Interactions during Substorms （THEMIS） observations from 2007 to 2011 tail seasons, we study the plasma properties of high speed flows （HSFs） and background plasma sheet events （BPSs） in Earth＇s magnetotail （｜YGsM｜〈13RE, ｜ZGsM｜〈5RE, -30RE〈XrsM〈-6RE）, and their correlations with solar wind parameters. Statistical results show that the closer the HSFs and BPSs are to the Earth, the hotter they become, and the temperature increase of HSFs is larger than that of BPSs. The density and temperature ratios between HSFs and BPSs are also larger when events are closer to Earth. We also find that the best correlations between the HSFs （BPSs） density and the solar wind density occur when the solar wind density is averaged 2 （3.5） hours prior to the onset of HSFs （BPSs）. The normalized densities of both HSFs and BPSs are correlated with the interplanetary magnetic field （IMF） 0 angles （ 0 = arctan（bz √Bx^2＋y^2 ） which are averaged 3 hours before the observation time. Further analysis indicates that both HSFs and BPSs become denser during the northward IMF period.

Achieving a high color rendering index(CRI)and luminous stability in single-structured Ce:Y_(3)Al_(5)O_(12)(Ce:YAG)phosphor ceramics(PCs)is crucial for high-power white light-emitting diodes or laser diodes(LEDs/LDs).However,cyan valleys and insufficient amounts of the red component in the Ce:YAG emission spectra significantly limit their real *** this work,a series of Ce,Mn:Y_(3)(Al,Sc)_(2)Al_(3)O_(12)(Ce,Mn:YSAG)PCs were fabricated by vacuum sintering,and efficient spectral regulation was realized for full-color *** cyan valley was filled by the blueshifted emission peak of Ce^(3+)via Sc^(3+)*** orange‒red emission at approximately 580 nm was effectively supplemented via Mn^(2+)*** particular,CRI of Ce,Mn:YSAG increased from 56.4 to 85.8,a 52%increase compared with that of Ce:YAG under high-power LED excitation,and the operating temperature was stable at approximately 50℃for long working ***,CRI of 80.9 could still be obtained for PC-based white *** results indicated that Ce,Mn:YSAG PC,which has excellent CRI and luminous stability,is an extremely promising color convertor for high-power white LEDs/LDs.

Dear Editor,Previous studies have proved that regulatory T cell(Treg)insufficiency contributed to the development of autoimmune conditions including systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).Conventional immunosuppressive treatment was reported to downregulate beneficial Tregs together with pathogenic effector immune cells,which may impede a rapid achievement of optimal therapeutic effects.

This paper examines national urban agglomerations by taking factor flows as the focal point as the research *** dividing the stages of urban agglomeration development,a comprehensive framework of urban shrinkage is constructed,encompassing economic,population,and social *** study explores the spatial distribution characteristics of urban shrinkage during different stages of urban agglomeration and investigates the influencing factors using a geographic detector *** findings reveal that urban shrinkage within urban agglomerations is widely spread,predominantly in peripheral *** the diffusion stage,urban shrinkage is scattered,with population shrinkage concentrated in peripheral regions,economic shrinkage concentrated on old industrial cities,and social shrinkage concentrated on the *** outcomes of the geographic detector model indicate that traffic flow,capital flow,information flow,node importance,network connectivity,government investment,openness,and environmental regulations all play significant roles in shaping the spatial distribution of urban shrinkage.

Quantitative phase imaging(QPI)by differential phase contrast(DPC)with partially coherent illumination provides speckle-free imaging and lateral resolution beyond the coherent diffraction limit,demonstrating great potential in biomedical imaging ***,DPC employs weak object approximation to linearize the phase-to-intensity image formation,simplifying the solution to the phase retrieval as a two-dimensional deconvolution with the corresponding phase transfer *** its widespread adoption,weak object approximation still lacks a precise and clear definition,suggesting that the accuracy of the QPI results,especially for samples with large phase values,is yet to be *** this paper,we analyze the weak object approximation condition quantitatively and explicitly give its strict definition that is applicable to arbitrary samples and illumination ***,an iterative deconvolution QPI technique based on pseudo-weak object approximation is proposed to overcome the difficulty of applying DPC to large-phase samples without additional data *** with standard microlens arrays and MCF-7 cells demonstrated that the proposed method can effectively extend DPC beyond weak object approximation to high-precision three-dimensional morphological characterization of large-phase technical and biological samples.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)is a progressive neurodegenerative disease affecting both upper and lower motor neurons(MNs)with large unmet medical *** pathological mechanisms are considered to contribute to the progression of ALS,including neuronal oxidative stress and mitochondrial ***(HNK)has been reported to exert therapeutic effects in several neurologic disease models including ischemia stroke,Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s *** we found that honokiol also exhibited protective effects in ALS disease models both in vitro and in *** improved the viability of NSC-34 motor neuron-like cells that expressed the mutant G93A SOD1 proteins(SOD1-G93A cells for short).Mechanistical studies revealed that honokiol alleviated cellular oxidative stress by enhancing glutathione(GSH)synthesis and activating the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(NRF2)-antioxidant response element(ARE)***,honokiol improved both mitochondrial function and morphology via fine-tuning mitochondrial dynamics in SOD1-G93A ***,honokiol extended the lifespan of the SOD1-G93A transgenic mice and improved the motor *** improvement of antioxidant capacity and mitochondrial function was further confirmed in the spinal cord and gastrocnemius muscle in ***,honokiol showed promising preclinical potential as a multiple target drug for ALS treatment.
