Prediction of the undrained shear strength of remolded soil with non-linear regression,fuzzy logic,and artificial neural network

This study aims to predict the undrained shear strength of remolded soil samples using non-linear regression analyses,fuzzy logic,and artificial neural network modeling.A total of 1306 undrained shear strength results from 230 different remolded soil test settings reported in 21 publications were collected,utilizing six different measurement *** water content,plastic limit,and liquid limit were used as input parameters for fuzzy logic and artificial neural network modeling,liquidity index or water content ratio was considered as an input parameter for non-linear regression *** non-linear regression analyses,12 different regression equations were derived for the prediction of undrained shear strength of remolded ***-Forward backpropagation and the TANSIG transfer function were used for artificial neural network modeling,while the mamdani inference system was preferred with trapezoidal and triangular membership functions for fuzzy logic *** experimental results of 914 tests were used for training of the artificial neural network models,196 for validation and 196 for *** was observed that the accuracy of the artificial neural network and fuzzy logic modeling was higher than that of the non-linear regression ***,a simple and reliable regression equation was proposed for assessments of undrained shear strength values with higher coefficients of determination.

A series of thiophenyl-containing 3-thiophene derivatives （4a--4i） were prepared via the reaction of chalcone-analogua compounds （3a--3i） and thiophenol in the presence of catalytic amount of KOBu-t in CH2C12 with moderate to high yields. The mechanistic pathway of the reaction was explained by the michael-type addition of thiophenol to chalcone derivatives （3a--3i）.

Dear Editor, Burned-out tum.rs of the testis are extremely rare form oftesticular malignancies, and they could disappear or regress spontaneously and completely. These tum.rs could be presented by metastatic form in retroperitoneum, lungs, retroperitoneal lymph nodes, and liver. In recent studies, differential diagnosis, clinic features, treatment modalities and follow-up outcome of burned-out tum.r from prim.ry retroperitoneal germ cell tum.r are discussed. If patient with retroperitoneal lymph node involvement and histology of ＂testicular tum.r＂ burned-out tum.r of the testis was suspected.

Patterns in the relationship between acute COVID-19/long COVID-19 and quality of life:A cross-sectional study of patients attending a tertiary care hospital in Turkey

Triorchidism： a rare genital abnormality

Dear Editor, We would like to present a rare case ofpolyorchidism. Polyorchidism is an unusual abnormality of the genital tract and until date, there are approximately 178 case reports of polyorchidism in the literature？ However, the most of patients are asymptomatic and usually diagnosed incidentally. Some may present as inguinal hernia （30%）, maldescended testis （15% to 30%）, testicular torsion （13%） and hydrocele （9%）, varicocele （1%）, hypospadias （〈1%）, anomalous urogenital union （〈1%）, and malignancy （〈1%）.2 management of polyorchidism is still controversial. Important factors of polyorchidism management are testis location, size and anatomical organization of the testicular drainage system and the age of the patient.

Agriculture in Turkey has been playing a significant role in Turkish economy and agricultural sectors are the most important provider of employment. Additionally, agriculture is major income source for farm.rs in rural areas and education level positively effects their income level and productivity. Agricultural faculties, institutions and agricultural extension services are mainly responsible for farm.rs＇ education in Turkey. The mission of agricultural education is to provide education for young people to prepare them for life and also work for rural community. Also, the agricultural education is responsible for the development of practical and theoretical knowledge of people in rural areas with disseminating information and new technologies. Basic field studies on the national qualifications framework for higher education of Turkey has been determined by a working group of deans formed by the CoHE under the Bologna process. Sixty programs on agriculture, forestry and fishery were identified at the faculties. A small working group formed among the deans of the agricultural faculties founded ZIDEK accreditation society to accredited programs at the agricultural faculties. Also a report was prepared by another working group to recommend worldwide programs to the agricultural faculties in Turkey. mass media plays an important role for disseminating the agricultural innovations to rural areas. In this respect, the prim.ry goal of Turkey is the im.rovement of welfare of farm.rs in order to sustain rural development. For this aim, handicraft training centers to diversify the rural economy, agricultural publication services of moFAL distribute publications in order to disseminate information and new technologies, Widespread Education Project for Farm.rs （YAYCEP） has been started and within the scope of the project producers who live in rural areas, education and extension services and projects for woman farm.rs and other extension studies have been carried out under the

目的:比较聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(PmmA)与疏水性丙烯酸酯人工晶状体(IOLs)用于小儿白内障摘除联合人工晶状体植入术术后视力效果及并发症。方法:回顾性研究。包括63例117眼接受双侧小儿白内障手术和原发性人工晶状体植入术患者。将所有患者分为两组,组I包括30例58眼植入聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯人工晶状体患者;组II包括33例59眼植入疏水性丙烯酸酯人工晶状体患者。比较两组间的临床特点、屈光不正、最佳矫正视力(BCVA)和手术并发症。结果:患者平均年龄为5. 8(2～12)岁,平均随访时间为40. 5(6～196) mo。术后,80眼(68. 4%)中最佳矫正视力≥0. 5,两组间存在可比性。两组间视觉轴混浊情况分别为组I 28眼(48. 3%),组II 16眼(27. 1%),两组间差异有统计学意义(P=0. 018)。术后形成眼内晶状体脱位和粘连。综上所述,疏水性丙烯酸酯人工晶状体组的并发症明显少于聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯人工晶状体组(P=0. 020)。结论:采用原发性人工晶状体植入术行小儿白内障手术是一种安全的方法。相较于聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯人工晶状体,疏水性丙烯酸人工晶状体术后并发症更少。

Changes in Electrocardiogram Findings during Treatment with Gonadotropin-releasing Hormone Agonist and Surgical Castration for Prostate Carcinoma

Purpose: To investigate electrocardiogram (ECG) changes after complete androgen blockade (CAB) achieved by either surgical or medical castration and compare the outcomes of the groups. methods: Sixty-three consecutive men (between 58 - 86 years of age) requiring CAB for prostate cancer were enrolled in the study. Patients with diabetes mellitus, an additional malignancy, coronary heart disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure or a medical history of cardiac event in the last 12 months were excluded from the study. Additionally, those who were taking medicine affecting heart rate were excluded. The participants were divided into two groups according to their modality of castration. The first group consisted of 35 patients who received bilateral orchiectomy plus anti-androgen medication. The second group contained 28 patients who accepted gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnrH) plus anti-androgen therapy. After complete examinations and biochemical tests, the ECG leads of the patients were obtained conveniently. This was then repeated at three- and six-month visits. ECG findings (including heart rate, Pr, QrS, QT, corrected QT (QTc) intervals and QT dispersion (QTd)) were recorded and analysed statistically. The groups were then compared in terms of pre- and post-treatment ECG outcomes. results: Both groups revealed similarly lower heart rate and prolonged Pr, QrS, QT, corrected QTc and QTd by the end of six months. By the end of three months, all variables had changed significantly in the orchiectomy group, whereas in the GnrH group, they had not. Conclusion: CAB may result in lower heart rate and prolonged QT, a condition associated with fatal cardiac arrhythmia and sudden death. Therefore, patients receiving CAB should be monitored closely for cardiac adverse effects.
