There is still a need for better protection against or mitigation of the effects of ionizing radiation following conventional radiotherapy or accidental exposure. The objective of our current study was to investigate the possible roles of matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor, ilomastat, in the protection of mice from total body radiation（TBI）, and the underlying protective mechanisms. Ilomastat treatment increased the survival of mice after TBI. Ilomastat pretreatment promoted recovery of hematological and immunological cells in mice after 6 Gy γ-ray TBI. Our findings suggest the potential of ilomastat to protect against or mitigate the effects of radiation.

The second-order nonlinear optical properties of thiophene S,S -dioxides derivatives were studied by using the ZINDO-SOS method. The computed results show that the thiophene S,S -dioxide derivatives exhibit larger second-order polarizabilities than their thiophene precursors. In order to clarify the origin of the different NLO responses among these chromophores, their electron properties and frontier orbital properties were investigated as well. These thiophene S,S -dioxides derivatives are good candidates for their application in electro-optical device due to their high nonlinearities, good thermal and photo stabilities.

采用甲醇冷浸提取，结合常压硅胶柱色谱、Sephadex LH-20凝胶柱色谱、半制备液相等多种分离纯化手段，从绵毛马兜铃果实的甲醇提取物中分离得到14个化合物。综合利用现代先进的波谱学分析技术（包括^1H-NMR，^13C-NMR，ESI-MS和EI-MS），并结合文献报道数据，鉴定了这些化合物的结构，分别为马兜铃酸I（1）、马兜铃内酰胺I（2）、马兜铃内酰胺W（3）、manshurolide（4）、马兜铃内酯（5）、saropeptate（6）、2-（1-oxononadecyl）aminobenzoic acid（7）、β-谷甾醇（8）、sitostanetriol（9）、胡萝卜苷（10）、熊果酸（11）、5-乙基-8，8-二甲基壬醛（12）、二十四烷酸-α-二羟丙酯（13）、二十四烷酸（14）。化合物2～4，6～7，9～14均系首次从绵毛马兜铃中分离得到。针对鉴定得到的14个单体化合物进行了杀南方根结线虫2龄幼虫的活性筛选和活性评价，结果表明化合物1～3，6～7对南方根结线虫2龄幼虫具有不同程度的毒杀作用，尤其马兜铃酸I（1）、马兜铃内酰胺I（2）和马兜铃内酰胺W（3）活性最好，96h后的LC50分别为45．25，36．56，119．46mg·L^-1。

The development of PVC materials grafted with mannich base originated from myrcene(P-MAM-g,where the mannich base derived from myrcene is abbreviated as MAM)via green and effective synthetic methods is a good strategy to avoid unacceptable discoloration and deterioration of thermal and mechanical properties caused by autocatalytic dehydrochlorination(DHC)during PVC processing.In this study,MAM with double bonds,amino groups,ester groups,and phospholipid groups was introduced into the chains of PVC to improve the thermal stability of PVC.The experimental results showed that the covalent attachment of MAM to PVC enhanced both the initial and the long-term stability of PVC.The enhanced performance of P-MAM-g compared with unmodified PVC is attributed to the simultaneous introduction of double bonds and amino groups into the PVC structure.The double bonds trapped the unstable chlorine atoms originated from the degradation of the PVC chain and reacted with the labile macromolecular radicals originated from PVC,thus inhibiting the radical degradation of the PVC chain.Furthermore,the amino groups absorbed the HCl produced in the degradation of PVC,inhibiting the adverse effects of HCl.P-MAM-g displayed better intrinsic flexibility and anti-migration ability of organic functional components compared with the control PVC materials.A possible stabilizing mechanism of the P-MAM-g was also presented.

Bp,qs([-2π, 0];X)) into X, ut is given by ut(s) = u(t + s) when s ∈ [-2π,0]. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the Lp-well-posedness(resp. Bp,qs-well-posedness)of(P3) are given in the above two function spaces. We also give concrete examples that our abstract results may be applied.

The Giant Radio Array for Neutrino Detection(GRAND)is a proposed large-scale observatory designed to detect cosmic rays,gamma-rays,and neutrinos with energies exceeding 100 Pe V.The GRANDProto300 experiment is proposed as the early stage of the GRAND project,consisting of a hybrid array of radio antennas and scintillator detectors.The latter,as a mature and traditional detector,is used to cross-check the nature of the candidate events selected from radio observations.In this study,we developed a simulation software called G4GRANDProto300,based on the Geant4 software package,to optimize the spacing of the scintillator detector array and to investigate its effective area.The analysis was conducted at various zenith angles under different detector spacings,including 300,500,600,700,and 900 m.Our results indicate that,for large zenith angles used to search for cosmic-ray in the GRAND project,the optimized effective area is with a detector spacing of 500 m.The G4GRANDProto300 software that we developed could be used to further optimize the layout of the particle detector array in future work.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical safety and efficacy of the retrograde perfusion technique in kidney transplantation. Methods: Between January 2001 and June 2011, 24 cases of kidney transplantation with kidneys perfused using the retrograde perfusion technique due to renal artery variations or injury were selected as the observation group (retrograde perfussion group, RP group). Twenty-two cases of kidney transplantation via conventional perfusion were chosen as the control group (antegrade perfussion group, AP group). There were no statistically significant differences in donor data between the two groups. Cold ischemia time, warm ischemia time, renal perfusion time, amount of perfusion fluid, acute renal tubular necrosis, wound infection, urinary fistula, graft kidney function, and the 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year survival rates for the grafted kidney in both groups were observed and recorded. Results: The kidney perfusion time was shorter in the RP group than that in the AP group (3.14 ± 1.00 vs. 5.02 ± 1.15 min, P = 0.030). There were 10 cases of acute renal tubule necrosis in the RP group and 5 in the AP group. The length of hospital stay was 40 ± 14 d in the RP group and 25 ± 12 d in the AP group. The follow-up time was 3.5-8.5 years (mean 6.25 years). The 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rates for the grafted kidney were 95.8%, 75.5%, and 65.5% in the RP group and 97.1%, 82.5%, and 68.4% in the AP group, respectively ( P >0.05). Conclusions: This study indicates that retrograde perfusion is safe and practicable for cadaveric kidney harvesting and can be regarded as a better alternative or remedial measure for a poorly perfused kidney due to vascular deformity or injury.

A good strategy was brought forward for designing efficient haptens and complete antigens for 3-amino-2-oxazolidinone （AOZ）. Haptens designed newly were achieved facilely in good yield by using LiCI-N（Et）3 as new catalysis system, the structure of which was elucidated by spectroscopy analysis, such as NMR and MS. Novel antigens for AOZ were prepared successfully by convenient active ester method. The ratios of haptens 3 and 4 to carrier proteins were proven respectively as 41 ： 1 （5a）, 39：1 （6a）, 11：1 （5b） and 9：1 （6b） by trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid （TNBS） method. The results of indirect competitive ELISA （ic-ELISA） of antiserums indicated that the haptens with a short unsaturated side chain can evoke specific immune response effectively.
