Intense wind sh.ar(I-WS)near airport runways presents a critical ch.llenge to aviation safety,necessi-tating accurate and timely classification to mitigate risks during takeoff and *** study proposes th. application of advanced Residual Network(ResNet)arch.tectures including ResNet34 and ResNet50 for classifying I-WS and Non-Intense Wind Sh.ar(NI-WS)events using Doppler Ligh. Detection and Ranging(LiDAR)data from h.ng Kong International Airport(h.IA).Unlike conventional models such.as feedforward neural networks(FNNs),convolutional neural networks(CNNs),and recurrent neural networks(RNNs),ResNet provides a distinct advantage in addressing key ch.llenges such.as capturing intricate WS dynamics,mitigating vanish.ng gradient issues in deep arch.tectures,and effectively h.ndling class imbalance wh.n combined with.Synth.tic Minority Oversampling Tech.ique(SMOTE).Th. analysis results revealed th.t ResNet34 outperforms oth.r models with.a Balanced Accuracy of 0.7106,Probability of Detection of 0.8271,False Alarm Rate of 0.328,F1-score of 0.7413,Matth.ws Correlation Coefficient of 0.433,and Geometric Mean of 0.701,demonstrating its effectiveness in classifying I-WS *** findings of th.s study not only establish.ResNet as a valuable tool in th. domain of WS classification but also provide a reliable framework for enh.ncing operational safety at airports.

An approach.is presented to ch.racterize th. stress response of workpiece in h.rd mach.ning, accounted for th. effect of th. initial workpiece h.rdness, temperature, strain and strain rate on flow stress. AISI h.3 work tool steel was ch.sen to verify th.s meth.dology. Th. proposed flow stress model demonstrates a good agreement with.data collected from publish.d experiments. Th.refore, th. proposed model can be used to predict th. corresponding flow stress-strain response of AISI h.3 work tool steel with.variation of th. initial workpiece h.rdness in h.rd mach.ning.

Understanding th. effects of cover crops and tillage on soil ph.sical properties is important for determining soil productivity. Th.s study was conducted at Lincoln University＇s Freeman Center, USA to evaluate th. effects of tillage and cover crop management on soil h.draulic properties. Th. field site included th.ee replicate blocks in a randomized complete block design with.each.plot measuring 21.3 m in length.and 12.2 m in width. Treatment factors were tillage at two levels （moldboard plow tillage vs. no tillage） and cover crop at two levels （cereal rye （Secale cereal） cover crop vs. no cover crop）. Soil samples were collected in late spring/early summer from each.treatment at 10-cm depth.increments from th. soil surface to a depth.of 40 cm using cores （76.2-mm diameter and 76.2-mm length.. Soil bulk density was 13% lower with.tillage compared with.no-tillage. Volumetric water content was significantly h.gh.r at 0.0 and -0.4 kPa pressures with.tillage compared with.no tillage. Tillage increased th. proportion of coarse mesopores by 32gc compared with.no tillage, resulting in 87% h.gh.r saturated h.draulic conductivity （Ksat）. Cover crop increased th. proportion of macropores by 24~ compared with.no cover crop; th.s can potentially increase water infiltration and reduce runoff. As a result of h.gh.r macroporosity, Ksat was h.gh.r under cover crop compared with.no cover crop. Th.s study demonstrated th.t tillage can benefit soil h.draulic properties in th. sh.rt term, but th.se effects may not persist over time. Cover crops may sligh.ly improve soil h.draulic properties, but longer term studies are needed to evaluate th. long-term effects.

Th.s paper investigates th. free vibration and transient response of interconnected structures including double curved beams and intermediate straigh. beams,wh.ch.are all constructed from functionally graded porous(FGP) materials. Th. strain potential and kinetic energies of each.beam along with.th. work done by th. external force are calculated. Additionally, a h.gh.r-order beam element is introduced to derive stiffness and mass matrices, along with.th. force vector. Th. curved and straigh. beams are discretized, and th.ir assembled stiffness, mass matrices, and force vectors, are *** conditions at th. joints are used to derive th. total matrices of th. entire structure. Subsequently, th. natural frequencies and transient response of th. system are determined. Th. accuracy of th. math.matical model and th. self-developed computer program is validated th.ough.th. comparison of th. obtained results with.th.se of th. existing literature and commercial software ANSYS, demonstrating excellent ***, a compreh.nsive study is conducted to investigate th. effects of various parameters on th. free vibration and transient response of th. considered structure.

Th. capacity degradation mech.nism in lith.um nickel-manganese-cobalt oxide （NMC） cath.des （LiNi1/3Mn1/3Co1/3O2 （NMC333） and LiNi0.4Mn0.4Co0.2O2 （NMC442）） during h.gh.voltage （cut-off of 4.8 V） operation h.s been investigated. In contrast to NMC442, NMC333 exh.bits rapid structural ch.nges including severe micro-crack formation and ph.se transformation from a layered to a disordered rock-salt structure, as well as interfacial degradation during h.gh.voltage cycling, leading to a rapid increase of th. electrode resistance and fast capacity decline. Th. fundamental reason beh.nd th. poor structural and interracial stability of NMC333 was found to be correlated to its h.gh.Co content and th. significant overlap between th. Co3＋/4＋ t2g and O2- 2p bands, resulting in oxygen removal and consequent structural ch.nges at h.gh.voltages. In addition, oxidation of th. electrolyte solvents by th. extracted oxygen species generates acidic species, wh.ch.th.n attack th. electrode surface and form h.gh.y resistive LiF. Th.se findings h.gh.igh. th.t both.th. structural and interfacial stability sh.uld be taken into account wh.n tailoring cath.de materials for h.gh.voltage battery systems.

Th.s paper describes th. synth.sis, surface tension and dispersancy properties of block copolymer nonionic surfactants comprised of polyeth.leneimine (PEI) and polyeth.lene oxide (PEO) blocks of selected length.. Th.se block copolymers were prepared by a th.ee step synth.tic sequence. Firstly, PEO glycol was converted to its dimeth.nesulph.nylester (dimesyl) derivative by reacting with.meth.nesulph.nyl ch.oride. Th.n a tri block polymer was prepared by th. ring opening polymerization of 2 meth.l 2 oxazoline (MeOZO) with.th. dimesyl PEO derivative. Lastly, linear PEI blocks were obtained by subsequent h.drolysis and purification. 1h.NMR spectra confirmed th. structures of th. intermediate, final products and th.ir purities (>99%). Th. utility of th.se block copolymers is described in terms of th.ir surface tension and clay dispersancy measurements as a function of copolymer ch.in and block length.

Differential Cross Sections for th. h.D2O→h.＋OD Reaction： a Full Dimensional State-to-State Quantum Dynamics Study

Th. time-dependent wave-packet meth.d was employed to calculate th. first full-dimensional state-to-state differential cross sections （DCS） for th. title reaction with.D2O in th. ground and th. first symmetric （100） and asymmetric stretch.ng （001） excited states. Th. calculated DCSs for th.se th.ee initial states are strongly backward peaked at low collision energies. With.th. increase of collision energy, th.se DCSs become increasingly broader with.th. peak position sh.fting gradually to a smaller angle, consistent with.th. fact th.t th. title reaction is a direct reaction via an abstraction mech.nism. It is found th.t th. （100） and （001） states not only h.ve rough.y th. same integral cross sections, but also h.ve essentially identical DCS, wh.ch.are very close to th.t for th. ground state at th. same total energy of reaction. Th. reaction produces a small fraction of OD in th. v=1 state, with.th. population close to th. relative reactivity between th. ground and vibrationally excited states, th.refore confirming th. experimental result of Zare et al. and th. local mode picture [J. Ph.s. Ch.m. 97, 2204 （1993）]. Unexpectedly, th. stretch.ng excitation reduces th. rotation excitation of product h. at th. same total energy.

Numerical Solution of th. Asymmetric Water Impact of A Wedge in Th.ee Degrees of Freedom

Impact problems associated with.water entry h.ve important applications in various aspects of naval arch.tecture and ocean engineering. Estimation of h.drodynamic impact forces especially during th. first instances after th. impact is very important and is of interest. Since th. estimation of h.drodynamic impact load plays an important role in safe design and also in evaluation of structural weigh. and costs, it is better to use a reliable and accurate prediction meth.d instead of a simple estimation resulted by analyzing meth.ds. In landing of flying boats, some ph.nomena such.as weath.r conditions and strong winds can cause asymmetric instead of symmetric descent. In th.s paper, a numerical simulation of th. asymmetric impact of a wedge, as th. step of a flying boat, considering dynamic equations in two-ph.se flow is taken into account. Th. dynamic motion of th. wedge in two-ph.se flow is solved based on finite volume meth.d with.volume of fluid （VOF） sch.me considering dynamic equations. Th.n th. effects of different angles of impact and water depth.on th. velocity ch.nge and slamming forces in an asymmetric impact are investigated. Th. comparison between th. simulation results and experimental data verifies th. accuracy of th. meth.d applied in th. present study.
