Sediment denitrification rates at six Yangtze River estuary tidal flat locations(mudflats and salt marshes)were measured from July 2.03 to October *** winter and summer,spatial distribution of denitrification rates was not great in the Yangtze estuary,while in spring and autumn,denitrification rates had a great spatial distribution because of the human activity *** temporal change of denitrification rates was *** ranged from 0.2.to 36.4 umolN·m^(-2.·h^(-1),and were higher in the *** annual average of sediment denitrification rate was 18.2.12.3 mu molN · m^(-2.· h^(-1)in the middle tidal flat and 15.1 ±9.45 mu molN·m^(-2.·h^(-1)in the low tidal flat in the Yangtze *** analysis indicated that the temperature was the primary factor controlling the process of denitrification(significant positive correlation,Pbon and nitrogen(C/N)had significant positive correlation(Pbition of denitrification because of the wide change range of water salinity.

Neutron resonance imaging(NRI)has recently emerged as an appealing technique for neutron *** complexity surpasses that of conventional transmission imaging,as it requires a high demand for both a neutron source and ***,the progression of NRI technology has been sluggish since its inception in the 1980s,particularly considering the limited studies analyzing the neutron energy range above *** white neutron source(Back-n)at the {2. Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)provides favorable beam conditions for the development of the NRI technique over a wide neutron energy range from eV to ***-sensitive microchannel plates(MCP)have emerged as a cutting-edge tool in the field of neutron detection owing to their high temporal and spatial resolutions,high detection efficiency,and low *** this study,we report the development of a 10B-doped MCP detector,along with its associated electronics,data processing system,and NRI experiments at the *** heavy elements such as gold,silver,tungsten,and indium can be easily identified in the transmission images by their characteristic resonance peaks in the 1–100 eV energy range;the more difficult medium-weight elements such as iron,copper,and aluminum with resonance peaks in the 1–100 keV energy range can also be *** particular,results in the neutron energy range of dozens of keV(Aluminum)are reported here for the first time.

What mechanism to determine microglia accomplishing destructive or constructive role in CNS remains nebulous. We report here that intracranial priming and re-challenging with T. gondii in mice elicit neurotoxic CCR9+ Irg1+(immunoresponsive gene 1) microglia, which are resistant to apoptosis and produce high level of TNF-α;priming and re-challenging with LCMV (lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus) elicit neurosupportive CX-CR3+ Irg1- microglia, which are sensitive to apoptosis and produce high level of IL-10 and TGF-β. Administration of CCR9 or/and Irgl siRNAs alters the frequency and functional profiles of neurotoxic CCR9+ Irg1+ and neurosupportive CXCR3 +Irg1- microglia in vivo. Moreover, by using a series of different neurotropic pathogens including intracellular parasites, chronic virus, bacteria, toxic substances, and CNS injury to intracranially prime and subsequent re-challenge mice, the bi-directional elicitation of microglia has been confirmed as neurotoxic CCR9+ Irg1+ and neurosupportive CXCR3+ Irg1- cells in these mouse models. These data suggest that there exist two different types of microglia, providing with a novel insight into microglial involvement in neurodegenerative and neuroinflam-matory pathogenesis such as Alzheimer s disease and AIDS dementia.

Higher-order topological insulators,as newly found non-trivial materials and structures,possess topological phases beyond the conventional bulk-boundary *** previous studies,in-gap boundary states such as the corner states were regarded as conclusive evidence for the emergence of higher-order topological ***,we present an experimental observation of a photonic higher-order topological insulator with corner states embedded into the bulk spectrum,denoted as the higher-order topological bound states in the ***,we propose and experimentally demonstrate a new way to identify topological corner states by exciting them separately from the bulk states with photonic quantum superposition *** results extend the topological bound states in the continuum into higher-order cases,providing an unprecedented mechanism to achieve robust and localized states in a bulk *** importantly,our experiments exhibit the advantage of using the time evolution of quantum superposition states to identify topological corner modes,which may shed light on future exploration between quantum dynamics and higher-order topological photonics.
