Many factors are involved in urban heat island development,such as lack of green spaces,improper choice of building materials,densification,and other human *** aim of this research was to quantify the effects of land-use/land-cover(LU/LC)changes on urban land surface temperature(LST)during a 25-year period(1993–2018)for the semiarid Shiraz City in southern Iran using Landsat data(TM,ETM+,and OLI/TIRS)and machine learning *** main LU/LC classes,such as orchard,vegetation,bare surface,asphalt cover,and built-up areas,were identified using a support vector machine *** images were used to retrieve normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)and normalized difference built-up index(NDBI).The results showed that the mean LST over the entire study domain increased considerably between 1993 and 2018,due to urbanization,decrease of green areas,and increasing industrial ***-up areas increased considerably by 25.8%from 80 to 100.6 km^(2) between 1993 and 2018,while vegetation cover decreased dramatically by 69.3%.Mean LST increased from 38.4 to 40.2℃ during the 25-year period with a significant increase of 3.9℃ between 2013 and *** addition,the Urban heat island Ratio Index(URI)displayed a substantial upward trend during the 25-year period.

Agriculture faces risks due to increasing stress from climate change,particularly in semi-arid *** of understanding of crop water requirement(CWR)and irrigation water requirement(IWR)in a changing climate may result in crop failure and socioeconomic problems that can become detrimental to agriculture-based economies in emerging nations *** research in CWR and IWR has largely focused on large river basins and scenarios from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 3(CMIP3)and Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5(CMIP5)to account for the impacts of climate change on *** basins,however,are more susceptible to regional climate change,with more significant impacts on *** study estimates CWRs and IWRs for five crops(sugarcane,wheat,cotton,sorghum,and soybean)in the Pravara River Basin(area of 6537 km^(2))of India using outputs from the most recent Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6(CMIP6)General Circulation Models(GCMs)under Shared Socio-economic Pathway(SSP)245 and SSP585 *** increase in mean annual rainfall is projected under both scenarios in the 2050s and 2080s using ten selected CMIP6 *** for all crops may decline in almost all of the CMIP6 GCMs in the 2050s and 2080s(with the exceptions of ACCESS-CM-2 and ACCESS-ESM-1.5)under SSP245 and SSP585 *** availability of increasing soil moisture in the root zone due to increasing rainfall and a decrease in the projected maximum temperature may be responsible for this decline in ***,except for soybean and cotton,the projected IWRs for all other three crops under SSP245 and SSP585 scenarios show a decrease or a small increase in the 2050s and 2080s in most CMIP6 *** findings are important for agricultural researchers and water resource managers to implement long-term crop planning techniques and to reduce the negative impacts of climate change and associated rainfall variability to avert crop failure and agricultural

[Background]The previous studies suggest that radioactive elements like Cs and Sr may adversely affect marine ecosystems and the fishing *** treatment systems for radioactive wastewater like the Advanced Liquid Processing System(ALPS)and Kurion have faced challenges in limiting concentration and achieving safety *** suggest potential long-term impacts on benthic organisms and seafood networks due to radioactive elements like Cs and Sr from the discharged radioactive wastewater,which may hinder post-disaster recovery and provoke economic losses in the fishing industry both domestically and internationally.A series of studies indicate that there are issues of Cs and Sr pollution migration in soil and water conservation in Fukushima.[Methods]To provide feasible solutions,the main article includes five nuclear wastewater treatment technologies,and soil and water conservation measures for different media(water and soil)were evaluated through reviewing the previous fifteen years'*** provide feasible solutions,the main articles,the phytoextraction technologies in Cs and Sr treatment within different land use areas were wildly analyzed(Camellia japonica,Arabidopsis halleri and other local species).[Results]1)A 99.9%removal rate for Cs^(+)and 99.5%for Sr^(2+)was achieved by the KFe[Fe(CN)_(6)]and BaSO_(4)co-precipitation method.2)For membrane filtration,Sr^(2+)and Cs^(+)were removed using metal-organic framework(MOF/graphene oxide)and ion exchange techniques using inorganic materials like *** absorption efficiency of membrane filtration for Sr^(2+)and Cs^(+)was at least 92%and 94%,*** study analyzed soil and water conservation technologies in different land uses,river basins and catchments.3)The underground water treatment mainly were completed via the membrance technologies like reverse osmosis and Permeable Reactive Barriers(PRB)*** ^(90) Sr concentration decreased 77%-91%compared to the initia

Water Status in the Syrian Water Basins

Syrian water resources face economic and physical water scarcity. This together with a large population and development increase and the climate change may lead to increasing risks for international controversies and disputes in the coming decades. According to FAO, the available water resource per capita AWPC is going to be half by 2025. Depending on its seven water basins, this paper analyses water demand and supply in the Syria with their projections till 2050. The paper shows that two of the seven Syrian basins need a specific concern as they face water scarcity problem. However, two basins have extra water. Therefore, the paper focuses on the need for a sustainable water management, which takes all nonconventional water resources into account to contribute in the Syrian water balance such as rainwater harvesting and wastewater reuse.

Water resources issue in the Middle East is an important question related to the 4th June 1967 line in the Middle Eastpeace process. This paper focuses on possibilities within the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) approach to contribute to the peace process between what is calledIsraeland Arab countries emphasizing fruitful cooperation to resolve the 4th June 1967 line issue. The paper shows that start of a possible cooperation could be founded on interest-based negotiations and built on IWRM principles by a simple geographical allocation plan for theLake Tiberiaswater together with a joint environmental protection plan to build cooperation instead of confrontation and integration instead of fragmentation. In a better cooperative climate, withdrawing from the 4th June 1967 line could be a possibility because negotiation results would incur safer access to sustainable water resources and a comprehensive peace.

福岛第一核电站事故导致大量辐射释放到海洋中，影响了海洋生态系统和渔业并造成经济损失。传统的放射性废水处理系统，如先进液体处理系统（ALPS系统）和Kurion系统，在限制浓度和达到安全标准方面面临着挑战。森林和农业用地土壤中检测出过量的锶和铯（Sr和Cs）。笔者通过搜索近20年的主要文献来评估5种水污染处理技术、水土保持措施效果（阻止风蚀与水蚀所产生的污染物迁移）。KFe[Fe（CN）6]与BaSO4共沉淀法对放射性Cs+（99.9%）和Sr2+（99.5%）具有较高的去除率，在含铯和锶核废水处理中具有应用前景。对于地下水的水土保持措施主要集中在膜技术例如RO膜。在农田林地等不同土地利用中，植物修复技术被广泛研究例如Arabidopsis halleri。结果表明，水土保持措施在阻控Cs、Sr土壤与水迁移及风蚀中，有效方法为稳定剂如聚电解质络合物，共沉淀法为潜在的储水桶中Sr与Cs污染问题。通过回顾核废水处理和水保措施，为放射性废水处理提供策略，为福岛核泄漏事故产生的核废水处理及放射性核素污染物迁移提供解决方案。
