Safeguarding plants as seeds in ex situ collections is a cost effective element in an integrated plant conservation approach. The European Alps are a regional centre of plant diversity. Six institutions have established a regional network covering the European Alps which will conserve at least 500 priority plant species and which will improve the conservation status of plant species in grassland communities in the subalpine, alpine and nival altitudinal belts. Targeted research will expand the knowledge of the ecology of target speeies. Public engagement activities will raise the awareness for the importance of specific conservation actions in the European Alps.

纤维增强聚合物基复合材料(FRP)面临制造厚度为10mm以上的零件的技术挑战。这是因为零件体积与表面积比的增大以及纤维与树脂的较低的热导率,使得树脂固化过程中产生的大量的热量无法及时散去。随着零件的厚度增加,树脂温度会因为反应热的增加而超过其降解温度。因而,本文着眼于厚壁复合材料零件的高宽比效应对单组分树脂系统RTM6在制造商推荐的固化周期(MRCC)下的最大成型厚度及其固化模式的影响。RTM6是特别为航空业树脂传递塑模(RTM)工艺开发的树脂系统。首先通过差示扫描量热仪(DSC)和参数拟合确定RTM6的固化动力学参数,然后采用有限元法进行模拟分析零件最大成型厚度和固化前沿的扩展过程并与文献结果相比较。结果表明,高宽比对厚壁复合材料零件的最大成型厚度和固化前沿扩展模式均有显著影响。零件最大成型厚度与文献结果的吻合度误差范围为1～7%。相同零件厚度下,随着高宽比的增加,会产生胶凝顺序"由外至内"和"由内至外"两种截然相反的固化前沿扩展模式。通过用户自定义固化周期(UDCC),可以实现将固化前沿扩展模式"由外至内"优化为"由内至外"。综上所述,纤维增强厚壁复合材料零件设计制造过程中,零件的高宽比是一个必须考虑的重要因素。

Background: Correlations between CRP and serum lipids are weak, and there are conflicting and incomplete results in the literature. The aim of the present study was to clarify the strength and independence of relationships between CRP and serum lipids in outpatients. Methods: Inclusion criteria were outpatients where all the following analyses were requested in clinical routine: high sensitivity CRP, total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL-cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, ApoB, ApoA-1 and Lp(a). Data for patients meeting the above criteria during a period of six years (2004-2010) were copied from Aleris Medilab’s Laboratory Information System to the software Statistica. Basic statistics and correlations were calculated for 2771 patients. In patients with two (n = 959) or more sampling times changes over time were calculated. The study was a quality assurance project without access to patient files. Results: Median age was 59 years and median serum CRP concentration was 1.5 mg/L. The strongest correlations (Spearman R) were seen between CRP and triglycerides (0.25), ApoB/ApoA-1 ratio (0.21) and HDL-cholesterol (−0.18). Stepwise regression analysis showed that ApoB, total cholesterol, log triglycerides and log Lp(a) together explained 8% of the variation in log CRP. Unfavourable time trends for CRP and triglycerides counteracted a significant decrease in LDL-cholesterol and total cholesterol. Conclusion: In a large cohort of outpatients CRP showed stronger correlation with triglycerides and ApoB/ApoA-1 ratio than with LDL-cholesterol and Lp(a). LDL-cholesterol concentrations changed favorably over time whereas CRP and triglycerides did not.

Neurogenesis persists in two locations of the adult mammalian brain, the subventricular zone of the lateral ventricles and the subgranular zone of the dentate gyrus in the hippocampus. In the adult subgranular zone, radial glial- like cells （RGLs） are multipotent stem cells that can give rise to both astrocytes and neurons. In the process of generating neurons, RGLs divide asymmetrically to give rise to one RGL and one intermediate progenitor cell （IPC）. IPCs are considered to be a population of transit amplifying cells that proliferate and eventually give rise to mature granule neurons. The properties of individual IPCs at the clonai level are not well understood. Furthermore, it is not clear whether IPCs can generate astrocytes or revert back to RGLs, besides generating neurons. Here we developed a genetic marking strategy for clonal analysis and lineage-tracing of individual Tbr2-expressing IPCs in the adult hippocampus in vivo using Tbr2-CreERT2 mice. Using this technique we identified Tbr2-CreERT2 labeled IPCs as unipotent neuronal precursors that do not generate astrocytes or RGLs under homeostasis. Additionally, we showed that these labeled IPCs rapidly generate immature neurons in a synchronous manner and do not undergo a significant amount of amplification under homeostasis, in animals subjected to an enriched environment/running, or in animals with different age. In summary, our study suggests that Tbr2-expressing IPCs in the adult mouse hippocampus are unipotent precursors and rapidly give rise to immature neurons without major amplification.

We report a robust fabrication method for patterning freestanding Pt nanowires for use as thermal anemometry probes for small-scale turbulence *** e-beam lithography,high aspect ratio Pt nanowires(~300 nm width,~70µm length,~100 nm thickness)were patterned on the surface of oxidized silicon(Si)*** wet etching processes with dry etching processes,these Pt nanowires were successfully released,rendering them freestanding between two silicon dioxide(SiO2)beams supported on Si ***,the unique design of the bridge holding the device allowed gentle release of the device without damaging the Pt *** total fabrication time was minimized by restricting the use of e-beam lithography to the patterning of the Pt nanowires,while standard photolithography was employed for other parts of the *** demonstrate that the fabricated sensors are suitable for turbulence measurements when operated in constant-current mode.A robust calibration between the output voltage and the fluid velocity was established over the velocity range from 0.5 to 5 m s−1 in a SF6 atmosphere at a pressure of 2 bar and a temperature of 21°*** sensing signal from the nanowires showed negligible drift over a period of several ***,we confirmed that the nanowires can withstand high dynamic pressures by testing them in air at room temperature for velocities up to 55 m s−1.

Blood-borne small non-coding(snc RNAs)are among the prominent candidates for blood-based diagnostic ***,high-throughput approaches are applied to discover biomarker *** have to be validated in larger cohorts and evaluated by adequate statistical learning ***,we published high-throughput sequencing based microRNA(miRNA)signatures in Alzheimer’s disease(AD)patients in the United States(US)and ***,we determined abundance levels of 21 known circulating miRNAs in 465 individuals encompassing AD patients and controls by *** computed models to assess the relation between miRNA expression and phenotypes,gender,age,or disease severity(Mini-Mental State Examination;MMSE).Of the 21 miRNAs,expression levels of 20 miRNAs were consistently de-regulated in the US and German cohorts.18 miRNAs were significantly correlated with neurodegeneration(Benjamini-Hochberg adjusted Pberg adjusted P=4.8×10^-30).Machine learning models reached an area under the curve(AUC)value of 87.6%in differentiating AD patients from ***,ten miRNAs were significantly correlated with MMSE,in particular miR-26a/26b-5p(adjusted P=0.0002).Interestingly,the miRNAs with lower abundance in AD were enriched in monocytes and T-helper cells,while those up-regulated in AD were enriched in serum,exosomes,cytotoxic t-cells,and *** study represents the next important step in translational research for a miRNA-based AD test.
