Harnessing the frequency dimension in integrated photonics offers key advantages in terms of scalability,noise resilience,parallelization,and compatibility with telecom multiplexing *** ring resonators have been used to generate frequency-entangled states through spontaneous four-wave ***,state-of-the-art integrated resonators are limited by trade-offs among size,spectral separation,and efficient photon pair *** have developed silicon ring resonators with a footprint below 0.05 mm^(2)providing more than 70 frequency channels separated by 21 *** exploit the narrow frequency separation to parallelize and independently control 34 single qubit-gates with a single set of three off-the-shelf electro-optic *** fully characterize 17 frequency-bin maximally entangled qubit pairs by performing quantum state *** demonstrate for the first time,we believe,a fully connected five-user quantum network in the frequency *** results are a step towards a generation of quantum circuits implemented with scalable silicon photonics technology,for applications in quantum computing and secure communications.

The opioid epidemic in the United States continues to take the lives of many individuals, with overdoses continuing to rise every year. Naloxone is an opioid antagonist that is efficacious in temporarily reversing opioid overdoses. Pharmacists play an important role in the accessibility and education of naloxone in both the community and health system settings. Recent efforts, such as co-dispensing naloxone with opioid prescriptions, naloxone training programs, and approval of naloxone to be over-the-counter, have been implemented in hopes to better control the opioid epidemic. Despite the efforts to make naloxone more accessible, there are still some barriers to overcome such as lack of training, cost, stigma, and patient refusal. This review aims to explore the contributions pharmacists have made thus far and define the barriers that still have to be resolved.

Prevalence and Risk Factors of Osteonecrosis of the Jaw in Patients with Bisphosphonate Exposure in Casablanca, Morocco: An Observational Study

Objective: To study the prevalence of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) and to determine the risk factors associated with the occurrence of this pathology. Method: An observational retrospective study was conducted in the Department of Oncology, Rheumatology, and Maxillofacial Surgery of Ibn Rochd University Hospital, Casablanca. The study utilized complete medical records from 2014 to 2022 and included consultations of patients receiving bisphosphonates (BPs) in July and September 2022. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 16.0. Results: Our study population comprised 104 patients, of whom 91% were women and 49% were over 65 years old. Seventy-two percent of patients had a general pathology. Among them, 64 patients were treated with zoledronate, 43 with alendronate, and the remainder with risedronate, ibandronate, and pamidronate. The most common indications for treatment were bone metastasis following breast cancer (29.8%) and osteoporotic fractures (19.2%). Sixty-seven patients received intravenous (IV) treatment;only 10.5% exhibited good oral health. Fifty percent of patients underwent dental treatment, primarily tooth extractions. Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) was diagnosed in 1.9% of patients, predominantly in stages 1 and 2. Conclusion: Second and third-generation bisphosphonates are more strongly associated with the development of ONJ. Risk factors include monthly IV administration, poor oral health, comorbidities such as diabetes, medications like corticosteroids, invasive dental procedures, and not only oncological conditions but also rare indications such as bone algodystrophy. Nevertheless, our observed prevalence of 1.9% aligns with international rates ranging from 0.8% to 12%. However, most of the studies that have been carried out have been retrospective studies with insufficient numbers of patients. Objective:To assess the applicability degree of the international guidelines by Moroccan radiotherapists,in order to improve the management of cervical cancer(CC),since CC is the second most common cancer for women in ***:This cross-sectional study was carried out using a questionnaire sent online to Moroccan *** questionnaire covered participants'characteristics,initial assessment and treatment preparation,techniques and indications for radiotherapy and brachytherapy,dose and indications,as well as on the protocol adopted in the intermediate stages and the location of adjuvant treatments and assessments'***:74 radiotherapists out of 300 have responded to the *** 27.0%of practitioners reported discussing patient records systematically in a multidisciplinary consultation meeting(MCM).For the initial assessment,77.0%requested pelvic magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).It is significantly less requested in regional oncology centers(ROCs)than in university hospital centers(UHCs)or the private sector(P<0.001).Furthermore,Clinicians in ROCs do not have access to new techniques of *** 83.8%of cases,the most prescribed radiotherapy protocols were 45–46 Gy in 1.8–2 Gy per ***-dimensional gynaecological brachytherapy high-throughput dose guided by dosimetric scanner was available in 75.5%of structures while interstitial gynaecological brachytherapy was only available in 23%of *** two most prescribed dose protocols were 47 Gy and 37 Gy in 74.4%and 21.6%of cases,***,monitoring during the first two years was based mainly on pelvic MRI(82.2%)while PET/CT was recommended by only less than 10%.Conclusions:The findings obtained show that our radiotherapists generally comply with international guidelines for the cervical cancer ***,they should still enhance their practices for the first staging evaluation,the use of systematic MCMs,the doses and treatment techniques used,and

目的模拟训练(simulation-based training,SBT)是一种有效的教育方法,广泛应用于包括肿瘤学在内的多种临床环境中。该文对肿瘤学中与SBT相关的研究进行了范围综述,全面了解SBT在提高医护人员技能方面的作用,从而提高护理质量和患者安全。方法根据Arksey和O’Malley提出的范围综述方法框架,在Medline、Scopus和Web of Science数据库中检索于2012年至2022年发表的,与SBT在提高肿瘤科医护人员技能方面的相关研究文献,仅纳入经过同行评审的英文或法语文献。由2名研究员独立进行文献的筛选、提取和分析。结果检索出1013篇文章,共纳入29篇文献。其中25篇文献侧重于非技术技能,如决策技能、沟通和团队合作技能以及认知能力;13篇文献侧重于技术技能。纳入文献研究结果表明,通过SBT项目,肿瘤科医护人员的技能得到了显著提高。其中14篇文献对SBT的应用进行了主观评估,9篇文献对其进行了客观评估,6篇文献采用了主观和客观相结合的评估方法。结论SBT是提高肿瘤科医护人员技能的有效方法,支持和推广SBT对提供高质量的医疗服务和确保患者安全至关重要。

Background: Wnt signalling inhibitors (Dickkopf-1 and Sclerostin) signalling play a role in vascular development and may contribute to calcification. Aim: To investigate the association between Dickkopf-1 and sclerostin serum concentrations in children undergoing maintenance hemodialysis with intimal medial thickness and peak systolic velocity of the main arteries. Patients and Methods: A study was conducted on 40 children undergoing maintenance hemodialysis and controls of the same age and sex. The study measured the initial medial thickness (IMT) and peak systolic velocity (PSV) of the main vessels (carotid, ulnar, and femoral). Dickkopf-1 and sclerostin serum levels in both groups were assessed, and a routine investigation was performed. Results: The findings indicate that the levels of serum Dickkopf-1 and Sclerostin were significantly higher in the hemodialysis group 2540.65 (2215.4 - 2909.2 pg/ml) and 1.17 (0.85 - 2.03 ng/ml)respectively (P = 0.001), compared to their control group it was 1110.45 (885.45 - 1527.65 pg/ml) and 0.28 (0.25 - 0.32 ng/ml)) respectively P = 0.001. Additionally, there was a significant increase in intima-media thickness (IMT) with a decrease in peak systolic velocity (PSV) in the main blood vessels, including the carotid, ulnar, and femoral arteries. A significant correlation was also observed between Dickkopf-1 and sclerostin levels and IMT of the carotid, ulnar, and femoral arteries. Conclusion: Wnt signalling inhibitors (Dickkopf-1 and Sclerostin) exert effects beyond the bone and significantly contribute to early vascular calcification in pediatric patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis.
