BACKGROUND Data regarding the worldwide gastrointestinal surgery rates in patients with Crohn’s disease(CD)remains *** To systematically review the global variation in the rates of surgery in *** A comprehensive search analysis was performed using multiple electronic databases from inception through July 1,2020,to identify all full text,randomized controlled trials and cohort studies pertaining to gastrointestinal surgery rates in adult patients with *** included continent based demographic data,CD surgery rates over time,as well as the geoepidemiologic variation in CD surgery *** analyses were conducted using *** Twenty-three studies spanning four continents were *** median proportion of persons with CD who underwent gastrointestinal surgery in studies from North America,Europe,Asia,and Oceania were 30%(range:1.7%-62.0%),40%(range:0.6%-74.0%),17%(range:16.0%-43.0%),and 38%*** clear association was found regarding the proportion of patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery over time in North America(R^(2)=0.035)and Europe(R^(2)=0.100).A moderate,negative association was seen regarding the proportion of patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery over time(R^(2)=0.520)in *** There appears to be significant inter-continental variation regarding surgery rates in *** evidencebased guidelines accounting for the geographic differences in managing patients with CD is ***,as a paucity of data on surgery rates in CD exists outside the North American and European continents,future studies,particularly in less studied locales,are warranted.

This study investigates the influence of using ground palm oil fuel ash(G-POFA) from 10%-30% as cement replacement(by weight) on the cement mortar's pH under various curing conditions. These findings were supplemented by thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA). Moreover, the resistance of G-POFA blended cement mortars to water absorption and sorptivity was determined. Further, the k-value test was carried out to explain the pozzolanic and filler behavior of G-POFA and to support the results obtained from TGA. It was found that there was no significant impact of several curing conditions on the pH of mortars. The mortar with 10% G-POFA in replacement of cement(G-POFA-10) exhibited the best resistance against water absorption and sorptivity.

BACKGROUND Timely differentiation of biliary atresia(BA)from other infantile cholestatic diseases can impact patient ***,non-invasive staging of fibrosis after Kasai hepatoportoenterostomy has not been widely *** wave elastography is an ultrasound modality that detects changes in tissue *** authors propose that the utility of elastography in BA can be elucidated through meta-analysis of existing *** To assess the utility of elastography in:(1)BA diagnosis,and(2)post-Kasai fibrosis *** A literature search identified articles that evaluated elastography for BA diagnosis and for post-Kasai *** studies met criteria for meta-analysis:Eleven for diagnosis and nine for follow-up *** diagnostic odds ratio(DOR),sensitivity,and specificity of elastography were calculated through a random-effects model using Meta-DiSc *** Mean liver stiffness in BA infants at diagnosis was significantly higher than in non-BA,with overall DOR 24.61,sensitivity 83%,and specificity 79%.Post-Kasai,mean liver stiffness was significantly higher in BA patients with varices than in patients without,with DOR 16.36,sensitivity 85%,and specificity 76%.Elastography differentiated stage F4 fibrosis from F0-F3 with DOR of 70.03,sensitivity 96%,and specificity 89%.Elastography also differentiated F3-F4 fibrosis from F0-F2 with DOR of 24.68,sensitivity 85%,and specificity 81%.CONCLUSION Elastography has potential as a non-invasive modality for BA diagnosis and surveillance *** paper’s limitations include inter-study method heterogeneity and small sample ***,standardized,multi-center studies are recommended.

Sediment samples from the Gomti River basin were investigated to determine and evaluate trace metal concentrations,their biological effect,and potential ecological and human health risks for adults and *** mean concentrations of trace metals were organized in the descending order of mercury(Hg)(0.08 mg/kg)>chromium (Cr)(0.06 mg/kg)>lead (Pb)(0.05 mg/kg)>arsenic (As)(0.02 mg/kg)>cadmium (Cd)(0.01 mg/kg).The current study illustrated that metals were attributed to the area from natural sources and different anthropogenic sources especially from ***,the concentration levels were lower than the sediment quality guidelines (SQGs) based on the effect-range classifications of threshold effect concentration (TEC) and probable effect concentration (PEC).Therefore,the concentration of the elements showed no adverse biological effects on aquatic *** evaluated potential ecological risk index also revealed the low toxicity to the aquatic ***,the applied sediment quality indices,geo-accumulation index (Igeo),contamination factor (CF),and contamination severity index (CSI) suggested that the contamination levels of the elements were in the acceptable range,and the contamination had not notably impacted on the sediment *** risk index (HI) concerning age groups was significantly less than the threshold limit of 1 indicating that the contamination had no non-carcinogenic risk *** total carcinogenic risk (TCR) was less than a risk value of 1×***,the current study suggests that immediate remediation is not required due to an absence of alarming conditions in the study *** monitoring of the attribution of the metal elements should be done for the betterment of human and environmental health.

This paper presents a novel metaheuristic algorithm called Rock Hyraxes Swarm Optimization(RHSO)inspired by the behavior of rock hyraxes swarms in *** RHSO algorithm mimics the collective behavior of Rock Hyraxes to find their eating and their special way of looking at this *** hyraxes live in colonies or groups where a dominant male watch over the colony carefully to ensure their safety leads the ***-eight(22 unimodal and 26 multimodal)test functions commonly used in the optimization area are used as a testing benchmark for the RHSO algorithm.A comparative efficiency analysis also checks RHSO with Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO),Artificial-Bee-Colony(ABC),Gravitational Search Algorithm(GSA),and Grey Wolf Optimization(GWO).The obtained results showed the superiority of the RHSO algorithm over the selected algorithms;also,the obtained results demonstrated the ability of the RHSO in convergence towards the global optimal through optimization as it performs well in both exploitation and exploration ***,RHSO is very effective in solving real issues with constraints and new search *** is worth mentioning that the RHSO algorithm has a few variables,and it can achieve better performance than the selected algorithms in many test functions.

Microbial detoxification of metalaxyl in aquatic system

Four microorganisms, Pseudomonas sp. （ER2）, Aspergillus niger （ER6）, Cladosporium herbarum （ER4） and Penicilluim sp. （ER3）, were isolated from cucumber leaves previously treated with metalaxyl using enrichment technique. These isolates were evaluated for detoxification of metalaxyl at the recommended dose level in aquatic system. The effect of pH and temperature on the growth ability of the tested isolates was also investigated by measuring the intracellular protein and mycelia dry weight for bacterial and fungal isolates, respectively. Moreover, the toxicity of metalaxyl after 28 d of treatment with the tested isolates was evaluated to confirm the complete removal of any toxic materials （metalaxyl and its metabolites）. The results showed that the optimum degree pH for the growth of metalaxyl degrading isolates （bacterial and fungal isolates） was 7. The temperature 30℃ appeared to be the optimum degree for the growth of either fungal or bacterial isolates. The results showed that Pseudomonas sp. （ER2） was the most effective isolate in metalaxyl degradation followed by Aspergillus niger （ER6）, Cladosporium herbarum （ER4） and Penicilluim sp. （ER3）, respectively. There is no toxicity of metalaxyl detected in the supematant after 28 d of treatment with Pseudomonas sp. （ER2）. The results suggest that bioremediation by Pseudomonas sp. （ER2） isolate was considered to be effective method for detoxification of metalaxyl in aqueous media.

Triple Super Phosphate, TSP fertilizer, was applied @ 80 kg·ha^-1 as the source of phosphorous on six months old polybag seed- lings of Albizia chinensis, Albizia saman and Pongamia pinnta in nursery beds in Bangladesh. The effects of P-fertilizer on seedling growth and nodulation were comparcd to that of seedlings grown in unfertilized soil or in control at different harvesting intervals. The study revealed that, seedling growth was enhanced significantly with the application of P-fertilizer. The growth was found more pronounced in cases of A. saman and P. pinnata, whereas it was not noticeable and showed depressed growth in case of A. chinensis. The study also suggests that nodulation in terms of nodule number and size was also increased significantly with P-fertilization except in case ofP. pinnata, where higher harvesting intervals lowered the nodulation performance of that species

Objective We evaluate the effects of Thymus algeriensis （TEO） against hydrogen peroxide （H202） toxicity on body and testis weight, testis sperm count, testis lipid peroxidation, and antioxidant enzyme activities in rats. Methods Rats were treated with low （LD） and high dose （HD） of H202 （0.1 and 1 mmol/L） in the presence or absence of TEO （150 mg/kg）. Results The results exhibited a significant decrease in body weight and testis weight, in total sperm number decrease （P〈0.05）, sperm motility and percentage of sperm viability, leading to complete arrest, in sperm flagellar beat frequency by the gavage of 1 mmol/L H202 compared to controls. The administration of H2O2 resulted in a significant reduction in testis GSH, GPx, CAT, SOD, and GST activity and significant increase （P〈0.05） in MDA concentration compared with the untreated control animals. TEO pre-treatment protected testis from the H2O2 generated oxidative stress. These results were confirmed by histological architecture examinations. Conclusion H2O2 has the ability to alter the sperm function, characteristics and development of testis. However, TEO is an efficient natural agent, which can prevent the testis from H2O2-induced oxidative damage in rats.
