Energy conservation is a crucial issue to extend the lifetime of wireless sensor networks(WSNs)where the battery capacity and energy sources are very *** energy-saving techniques can help designers overcome this issue by reducing the number of selected sensors that report environmental measurements by eliminating all replicated and unrelated *** paper suggests a hybrid Sensor Selection(hSS)technique that combines filter-wrappermethod to acquire a rich-informational subset of sensors in a reasonable *** aims to increase the lifetime of WSNs by using the optimal number of *** the same time,hSS maintains the desired level of accuracy and manages sensor failures with the most suitable number of sensors without compromising the *** evaluation of the hSS technique has adopted four experiments by using four different *** experiments show that hSS can extend the WSNs lifetime and increase the accuracy using a sufficient number of sensors without affecting ***,to ensure hSS credibility and reliability,the proposed hSS technique has been compared to other corresponding methodologies and shows its superiority in energy conservation at premium accuracy measures.

Activated carbon nanofibers(ACNFs)with small diameter can significantly increase the accessibility of intra pores and accelerate adsorption of molecules from *** this study,ACNFs were made by blending K_(2)CO_(3)or ZnCl_(2)as the activating agent into the polyacrylonitrile(PAN)in dimethylformamide solution for electrospinning prior to ***-A(BPA),an endocrine disruption pollutant,is widely applied in the production of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy ***,BPA is often used as a model contaminant commonly removed via *** adsorption studies were used to evaluate the kinetics and adsorption capacity of the ***-Peterson(R-P)and Langmuir models were found to fit the isotherm of BPA adsorption better than Freundlich model,showing the homogeneous nature of the PAN originated *** adsorption kinetics was better described by the pseudo second-order model than that by the pseudo first-order *** fitting by intraparticle diffusion model indicates the adsorption of BPA onto ACNFs is mainly controlled by pore *** ph value and ionic strength reduced BPA adsorption from aqueous *** breakthrough curves studied in two different fixed bed systems(cross flow bed system and packed flow bed system)confirmed the scalability of BPA removal by ACNFs in dynamic adsorption *** modified dose-response model predicted well the fixed-bed outlet concentration profiles.

The hepatotoxic effect of potassium bromide(KBr)on rat liver tissues were determined,as well as the potential protective effect of Tegillaraca granosa(***)flesh body *** adult male albino rats were equally distributed into four groups;Group(I)treated with physiological saline(control group),Group(II)was orally gavaged by 200 mg/kg of *** body extract day after day,Group(III)was intoxicated by KBr(150 mg/kg bwt day after day orally)and finally,Group(IV)was given a combination of *** flesh body extract plus KBr with similar doses in the second and third *** the end of one month,blood,liver tissue and bone marrow samples were collected to be used for the required laboratory *** response to KBr toxicity,there was a significant increase in serum antioxidant biomarkers,which was accompanied by a significant change in hepatocyte ultrastructure and a significant change in carbohydrate and protein levels within the liver *** addition,KBr intoxication resulted in a substantial increase in the incidence of chromosomal aberrations such as holes,splits,deletions,fragments,ploidy,and ring chromosomes,as well as significant upregulation of TGF-1,VEGF,and COX-2 gene *** hepatotoxic effect of KBr was counteracted by treatment with *** flesh body *** flesh body extract has a curative antioxidant and numerous protective effects against KBr hepatotoxicity.

AIm: To investigate the relationship between low molecular polypeptide-7 (LmP-7) gene polymorphism and response to interferon (IFN) therapy in chronic hepatitis C virus (hCV) patients. mEThODS: LmP-7 polymorphism at codon 49 with nucleotide substitution from A to C was amplified in 104 chronic hCV patients of genotype 4. The amplicons were digested with restriction endonuclease Bsm I and the produced restriction fragment length polymorphism was analyzed. Patients received IFN + regional blood volume therapy for 48 wk and the frequency of thissingle nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) was statistically correlated with treatment response. The exclusion criteria for these patients were stated by the national health program for treating viral hepatitis. main exclusion criteria included co-infection with hepatitis B virus or schistosomiasis, thyroid dysfunction, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, history of long term drug or alcohol intake and autoimmune hepatitis. multivariate analyses were done to correlate LmP-7 SNP plus several factors such as age, gender, weight, serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and alanine aminotransferase levels, liver activity, fibrosis score and viral load with response to therapy. RESULTS: The data presented in this study clearly demonstrated statistically significant differences between sustained virological response (SVR) (defined as the absence of hCV RNA levels in the patient's sera at least 6 mo after discontinuation of treatment) and non-response (NR) (where hCV RNA levels in the patient's sera never become undetectable for 6 mo during or after treatment). Variables were described as odds ratio with 95%CI. The data were considered significant if P values were ≤ 0.05; highly significant if P highly significant if P howed that 91.7% of patients carrying LmP-7 C/C allele were associated with SVR, while the other two genotypes C/A and A/A were associated with NR patients, 83.3% and 64.3% respectively, showing that g

In this paper we present the design of a leaky wave antenna based on Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) loaded by Complementary Split Ring resonator (CSRR). The proposed antenna is designed for 5G application with a center frequency around 28 Ghz. The antenna is implemented on Roger RT/Duriod 5880. The loading CSRRs are designed to resonate at 28 Ghz. The design is simulated by using both high-Frequency Simulation Software (hFSS) and Computer Simulation Technology (CST) for verification. Experimental measurements are also presented.

One of the maximum residences of activated carbon is adsorption capacity, this significance grows every day in a variety of fields. One of its examples is water treatment, processing of potable, all of those residences deliver capacity of activated carbon in smell elimination and flavor in residues of dissolved natural and color. Activated carbon was made from the carbonization of palm tree leave’s stems and activated using calcium chloride, then tested with an increase in reactivity indicated by iodine adsorption test up to 68.6% reactivity increase in commercial sample and 48.7% in palm tree leaves sample. As the methods and precursors of activated carbon are very diverse and result in deferent adsorption properties, the primary test includes: carbonization of palm tree leaves, size reduction and classification of the charcoal produced, applying an iodine test on the non-activated sample, activating another sample with activating agent CaCl2 to comparison between the activated carbon and the non-activated carbon and shows the increasing in the adsorption capacity for elemental iodine in activated carbon.

This work was conducted to study the extraction of eucalyptus oil from natural plants (Eucalyptus camadulensis leaves) by organic solvents. the effects of the main operating parameters were studied;type of solvent (n-hexane and ethanol), time to reach equilibrium, the temperature (45°C to 65°C) for n-hexane and (45°C to 75°C) for ethanol, solvent to solid ratio (5:1 to 8:1 (v/w)), agitation speed (0 to 900 rpm) and the particle size (0.5 to 2.5 cm) of fresh leaves to find the best processing conditions for the achieving maximum oil yield. The concentration of eucalyptus oil in solvent was measured by using UV-spectrophotometer. The results (for n-hexane) showed that the agitation speed of 900 rpm, temperature 65°C with solvent to solid ratio 7:1 (v/w) of particle size 0.5 cm for 210 minute give the highest value of oil (68.5 wt%). Similar conditions for ethanol with the exception of the temperature (75°C) give the highest yield of oil (65.07 wt%).

Urban soils polluted with heavy metals are of increasing concern because it is greatly affecting human health and the ecological ***,it is mandatory to understand the reasons behind this pollution and remediate the contaminated *** removal of heavy metals from contaminated soil samples collected from the vicinity of the sewage lake in Jeddah,Saudi Arabia,was *** leaching process was studied kinetically and thermodynamically for better understanding of the remediation *** results showed that the soil samples were slightly basic in nature,and tend to be more neutral away from the main contaminated sewage lake *** total metal content in the soil samples was measured using the aqua regia extractions by ICPOES and the results showed that many of the heavy metals present have significant concentrations above the tolerable *** general,the metal concentrations at different sites indicated that the heavy metal pollution is mainly due to the sewage discharge to the *** results showed excellent correlation between the concentrations of Co,As,and hg with the distance from the main contaminated *** leaching of Co,As,and hg using 1.0 m hydrochloric acid from the soil was studied kinetically at different temperatures and the experimental results were fitted using different kinetics *** experimental data were best described with two-constant rate and Elovich equation kinetic ***,the thermodynamic study showed that the leaching process was spontaneous,endothermic and accompanied with increase in the *** general,the polluted soil could be remediated successfully from the heavy metals using the acid leaching procedure in a short period of time.

Background: Acne vulgaris is a widely prevalent distressing problem among young adults and adolescents. Almost one-third of young people consider acne to be a major problem/burden. Less than half of acne diagnoses are made by a physician, and acne is often self-managed. Objective: We aim to find the prevalence of acne among different age groups, treatment seeking behaviors and sources of knowledge about acne treatment. We also aim to determine impact of acne vulgaris on quality of life and psychology of patients. Design: A cross-sectional study. Setting: Jordan university hospital, Amman, Jordan. Subjects: Patients aged 15 - 35 years old who attended the family medicine clinic in Jordan University hospital. Intervention: A self-administered questionnaire, consisted of three major parts, distributed during the period between August 2019 and October 2019. Results: Upon analyzing the data, 153 out of the 300 participants were found to have suffered or were still suffering from acne with a prevalence of 45%. The mean age at which the acne started was 16.20. There was a significant correlation between severity of acne and impact on life. more than half of the affected participants sought doctor help to treat their acne;patients depended on many sources of information to manage their acne. The majority of them reported the dermatologist as their source of information. Patients tended to use different methods of treatment to manage their acne. The cleanser was the most commonly used methods of treatment. Conclusion: Our article demonstrates that acne is a prevalent distressing problem among adolescents;it affects patients’ quality of life. Different modalities of treatment and sources of information were sought by patients. As family doctors, we emphasize the need for accessible, accurate, community-based education on the modalities of treatment of acne, and the importance of prompt medical attention toward its effect on quality of life.
