Leveraging the high resolution,sensitivity,and wide frequency coverage of the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array(ALMA),the QUARKS survey,standing for“Querying Underlying mechanisms of massive star formation with ALMA-Resolved gas Kinematics and Structures”,is observing 139 massive starforming clumps at ALMA band 6(λ~1.3 mm).This paper introduces the Atacama Compact Array(ACA)7 m data of the QUARKS survey,describing the ACA observations and data *** multiwavelength data,we provide the first edition of QUARKS atlas,offering insights into the multiscale and multiphase interstellar medium in high-mass star *** ACA 1.3 mm catalog includes 207 continuum sources that are called ACA *** gas kinetic temperatures are estimated using three formaldehyde transitions with a non-LTE radiation transfer model,and the mass and density are derived from a dust emission *** ACA sources are massive(16–84 percentile values of 6–160 M_(⊙)),gravity-dominated(M∝R^(1.1))fragments within massive clumps,with supersonic turbulence(M>1)and embedded star-forming *** find a linear correlation between the masses of the fragments and the massive clumps,with a ratio of 6%between the *** considering fragments as representative of dense gas,the ratio indicates a dense gas fraction(DGF)of 6%,although with a wide scatter ranging from 1%to 10%.If we consider the QUARKS massive clumps to be what is observed at various scales,then the size-independent DGF indicates a self-similar fragmentation or collapsing mode in protocluster *** the ACA data over four orders of magnitude of luminosity-to-mass ratio(L/M),we find that the DGF increases significantly with L/M,which indicates clump evolutionary *** observed a limited fragmentation at the subclump scale,which can be explained by a dynamic global collapse process.

We compared the potential phenotypic properties of coryneform bacteria associated with chronic prostatitis syndrome （CPS）, such as secretory inhibitor of lysozyme （SIL） and secretory inhibitor of platelet microbicidal protein （SIPMP）. A total of 110 clinical isolates of coryneform bacteria isolated from the seminal fluid of healthy men and men with CPS were tested. SIPMP production was tested by inhibiting platelet microbicidal protein （PMP） bioactivity against bacillus subtilis, and was expressed as percentage of inhibition of PMP bactericidal activity. SIL production was tested by inhibiting lysozyme activity against Micrococcus lysodeikticus and was expressed in microgram per millilitre of inactivated lysozyme. A significantly higher proportion of CPS strains （58.7% vs. 19.2 %） was SIPMP-positive compared with non-CPS strains （P 〈 0.01）. Of the CPS strains tested, 77.8% were SIL-positive compared with 34% of the non- CPS isolates （P 〈 0.05）. These results suggest that the diagnosis of CPS should not rely solely on classical parameters, for example, the identification and counting of microorganisms, but the functional significance of these parameters must be estimated, possibly by the concentration of different bacterial substrains, detection of opportunistic microorganisms with pathogenic properties, such as pronounced resistance to the cationic antimicrobial peptides, and/or the ability to inhibit the antimicrobial host defence factors.

Aim： To report the detection in vitro of secretory inhibitor of platelet microbicidal protein （SIPMP） phenotypes of urethral isolates along with a comparisonwith isolates from patients with or without chronic bacterial prostatitis （CbP）. Methods： Urethral isolates of Staphylococcus spp. （n = 64）, diphtheroids （n = 28）, micrococci （n = 15）, streptococci （n = 21）, Enterobacteriaceae （n = 9） and Enterococcusfaecalis （n = 19） from patients with or without CbP were tested. SIPMP production was tested by inhibition of platelet microbicidal protein （PMP） bioactivity against bacillus subtilis and was expressed as percentage of inhibition of PMP bactericidal activity. Results： A significantly higher proportion of CbP-strains （57.78% vs. 16.67%） reduced PMP-induced killing of bacillus subtilis than non- CbP strains did （P 〈 0.01）. SIPMP levels of staphylococci and Enterococcusfaecalis from the CbP group were significantly higher than those of the control group. Conclusion： These results suggest that SIPMP production is associated with the CbP source. Data from the present study might have significant implications for the understanding of the pathogenesis of CbP. （Asian J Androl 2008 Mar; 10： 189-192）.

This paper presents the equilibrium desorption isotherms and the isosteric heat of sorption of a mixture containing mechanically dewatered fermentation residue(obtained from a blend of chicken,swine and cattle manure)used in biogas plants and corn spoiled silage in a ratio of 2:*** moisture desorption isotherms of the fermentation residue were determined at 32°C,40°C and 80°C and in the relative humidity range of 0.057/1 using static gravimetric *** equations were used to analyze the desorption data of Modified Henderson,Modified Halsey,Modified Oswin,Modified Chung–Pfost and Modified GAb *** constants of the model equations were calculated by non-linear regression *** Modified Henderson model fitted to the desorption isotherm data *** the proposed function,the final moisture content of the material can be determined as long as it can be dried in infinite time with the drying gas in the given *** isosteric heat of desorption was calculated by using the Modified Henderson model in the studied temperature range based on the Clausius–Clapeyron *** isosteric heat varied between 46 k J·mol-1 and 67 k J·mol-1 at moisture levels 1.91 b Xe<4.05 kgH2O·kgdP-1 for the material.

We demonstrate the selective detection of hydrogen sulfide at breath concentration levels under humid airflow,using a self-validating 64-channel sensor array based on semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes(sc-SWCNTs).The reproducible sensor fabrication process is based on a multiplexed and controlled dielectrophoretic deposition of *** sensing area is functionalized with gold nanoparticles to address the detection at room temperature by exploiting the affinity between gold and sulfur atoms of the *** devices functionalized with an optimized distribution of nanoparticles show a sensitivity of 0.122%/part per billion(ppb)and a calculated limit of detection(LOD)of 3 *** the self-validation,our sensors show increased stability and higher response levels compared to some commercially available electrochemical *** cross-sensitivity to breath gases NH3 and NO is addressed demonstrating the high selectivity to ***,mathematical models of sensors’electrical characteristics and sensing responses are developed to enhance the differentiation capabilities of the platform to be used in breath analysis applications.

AIM: To study the secretory inhibitor of platelet microbicidal protein (SIPMP) phenotypes of faecal anaerobic isolates from patients with diarrhea. METHODS: Faecal isolates of anaerobic bacteria (b. fragilis, n = 42; b. longum, n = 70; A. israelii, n = 21; E. lentum, n = 12) from children with diarrhea were tested. SIPMP production was tested by inhibition of platelet microbicidal protein (PMP) bioactivity against b. subtilis and was expressed as percentage of inhibition of PMP bactericidal activity. RESULTS: Among anaerobic isolates 80% of b. longum strains, 85.7% of A. israelii strains, 50% of E. lentum strains and 92.86% of b. fragilis strains were SIPMP-positive. The isolated anaerobic organisms demonstrated SIPMP production at a mean level of 13.8% ± 0.7%, 14.7% ± 1.8%, 3.9% ± 0.9% (P bifidobacteria, A. israelii, E. lentum and b. fragilis, respectively. CONCLUSION: Data from the present study may have significant implications in understanding the pathogenesis of microecological disorders in the intestine, as well as for future improvement in the prevention and therapy of anaerobe-associated infections.
