Adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) procedure and regression methods were used to predict the Sauter mean bubble (bubble diameter) and surface area flux of the bubble in a flotation process. The operational conditions of flotation, impeller peripheral speed, superficial gas velocity, and weight percent solids were used as inputs of methods. by using the mentioned operational conditions, the non linear regression results showed that Sauter mean, and surface area flux of the bubble are predictable variables, where the coefficients of determination (R 2 ) are 0.57 and 0.74, respectively. To increase the accuracy of prediction an ANFIS model with cluster radius of 0.4 was applied. ANFIS model was capable of estimating both Sauter mean, and surface area flux of the bubble, where in a testing stage, satisfactory correlations, R 2 = 0.78, and 0.86, were achieved for Sauter mean, and surface area flux of bubble, respectively. Results show that the proposed ANFIS model can accurately estimate outputs and be used in order to predict the parameters without having to conduct the new experiments in a laboratory.

Flotation is a complex multifaceted process that is widely used for the separation of finely ground minerals. The theory of froth flotation is complex and is not completely understood. This fact has been brought many monitoring challenges in a coal processing plant. To solve those challenges, it is important to understand the effect of different parameters on the fine particle separation, and control flotation performance for a particular system. This study is going to indicate the effect of various parameters （particle Characteristics and hydrodynamic conditions） on coal flotation responses （flotation rate constant and recovery） by different modeling techniques. A comprehensive coal flotation database was prepared for the statistical and soft computing methods. Statistical factors were used for variable selections. Results were in a good agreement with recent theoretical flotation investigations. Computational models accurately can estimate flotation rate constant and coal recovery （correlation coefficient 0.85, and 0.99, respectively）. According to the results, it can be concluded that the soft computing models can overcome the complexity of process and be used as an expert system to control, and optimize parameters of coal flotation process.

A dense discrete phase model combined with the kinetic theory of granular flows was used to study the bubbling characteristics and segregation of poly-dispersed particle mixtures in a thin fluidized *** simulations showed that in using the hybrid Eulerian-Lagrangian method,the common use of one computational cell in the thickness direction of the thin bed does not predict wall friction ***,a three-cell discretization of the thickness direction does predict the wall friction well but six cells were needed to prevent overprediction of the bed *** change in specularity factor(SF)of the model not only affected the predictions of the velocity of particles,but also had a considerable impact on their flow pattern.A decrease in SF,which decreases wall friction,showed an over-prediction in the size of bubbles,particle velocities,and void fraction of the bed,and led to a shift in the circulation center toward the bottom of the *** segregation of the Geldart b particles was studied in the narrow range from 400 to 600μm with a standard deviation less than 10%of the average *** showed that large particles accumulated close to the distributor at the bottom of the bed and the center of the bed,but small particles moved towards the wall and top *** decrease in the mean particle size and spread in shape of the distribution improves mixing by up to 30%at a superficial gas velocity of around 2.5 times the minimum fluidization ***-normal mixtures with a small proportion of large particles had the most uniform distribution with a thin layer of jetsam forming at the bottom of the ***,experimental verification of the segregation and mixing of polydisperse particles with narrow size distribution is suggested.

Risk assessment for the daily intake of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from the ingestion of cockle (Anadara granosa) and exposure to contaminated water and sediments along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia

The concentration of carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons （c-PAHs） present in the sediment and water of Peninsular Malaysia as well as in the cockle Anadara granosa was investigated. Samples were extracted and analysed with gas chromatographymass spectrometry. The concentrations of total carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons （t-PAHs） were measured between 0.80±0.04 to 162.96 ±14.74 ng/g wet weight （ww） in sediment, between 21.85± 2.18 to 76.2± 10.82 ng/L in water samples and between 3.34 ±0.77 to 46.85 ± 5.50 ng/g ww in the cockle tissue. The risk assessment of probable human carcinogens in the Group b2 PAHs was calculated and assessed in accordance with the standards of the United States Environmental Protection Agency （US EPA）. Case I in the toxicity assessment analysed the cancer risk to consumers of Malaysian blood cockle. Case II assessed the risk of cancer from exposure to PAHs from multiple pathways. The average cancer risk of case I and case II were found to be classifiable as unsafe according to the US EPA standard. The cancer risk due to c-PAHs acquired by the ingestion of blood cockle was （8.82 ± 0.54） × 10^ 6 to （2.67 ± 0.06） × 10^-2, higher than the US EPA risk management criterion. The non-cancer risks associated with multiple pathways in Kuala Gula, Kuala Juru and Kuala Perlis were higher than the US EPA safe level, but the non-cancer risk for eating blood cockle was below the level of US EPA concern.

Prediction of radon flux from the fractured zone of a propagating cave mine is basically associated with uncertainty and complexity. For instance, there is restricted access to these zones for field measure- ments, and it is quite difficult to replicate the complex nature of both natural and induced fractures in these zones in laboratory studies. Hence, a technique for predicting radon flux from a fractured rock using a discrete fracture network （DFN） model is developed to address these difficulties. This model quantifies the contribution of fractures to the total radon flux, and estimates the fracture density from a measured radon flux considering the effects of advection, diffusion, as well as radon generation and decay. Radon generation and decay are classified as reaction processes. Therefore, the equation solved is termed as the advection-diffusion-reaction equation （ADRE）. Peclet number （Pe）, a conventional dimensionless parameter that indicates the ratio of mass transport by advection to diffusion, is used to classify the transport regimes. The results show that the proposed model effectively predicts radon flux from a fractured rock. An increase in fracture density for a rock sample with uniformly distributed radon generation rate can elevate radon flux significantly compared with another rock sample with an equivalent increase in radon generation rate. In addition to Pe, two other independent dimensionless parameters （derived for radon transport through fractures） significantly affect radon dimensionless flux. Findings provide insight into radon transport through fractured rocks and can be used to improve radon control measures for proactive mitigation.

CuI nanoparticles as an efficient catalyst have been used for the preparation of 1H-pyrazolo[l,2- b]phthalazine-5,10-diones by the four-component condensation reaction of phthalic anhydride, hydrazine monohydrate, aromatic aldehydes and malononitrile or ethyl cyanoacetate under solvent- free conditions in good to excellent yields, short reaction times and environmentally benign, milder reaction conditions.

Prevalence and severity of depression in chronic viral hepatitis in Iran

Aim:The aim of this study was to compare the prevalence and severity of depression in chronic hepatitis b(CHb)patients,chronic hepatitis C(CHC)patients,and healthy ***:Two hundred and fifty-three persons participated in this cross-sectional study between 2011 and 2012 in Imam Khomeini *** prevalence and severity of depression were assessed using the Hamilton ***:There was significantly higher prevalence of depression in CHC patients(35.9%)than in healthy participants(11.3%)and CHb patients(19.8%)(both Pb and CHC patients did not differ significantly in their depression prevalence after excluding inactive hepatitis b surface antigen(HbsAg)carriers(29.3%vs.35.9%;P>0.05).Inactive HbsAg carriers differed significantly from CHb patients—excluding inactive HbsAg carriers—in depression prevalence(10.0%vs.29.3%;Pbetween all groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Depression screening in chronic hepatitis b and chronic hepatitis C patients may be beneficial in disease management.

Low activation isotopic boron(11b)based magnesium diboride(Mg^(11)b_(2))superconductors doped with biomass-derived activated carbon were synthesized using11b and magnesium powder via solid-state *** effect of carbon doping on the lattice structure and superconducting properties of Mg^(11)b_(2)bulks were evaluated using X-ray powder diffraction,high resolution transmission electron microscopy,scanning electron microscopy and magnetization *** refinement of structural parameters indicates successful substitution of carbon in Mg^(11)b_(2)*** critical current density(Jc)of carbon doped Mg^(11)b_(2)synthesized at 650℃was enhanced more than two times compared with the pure Mg^(11)b_(2)*** improvement was observed for the Mg^(11)b_(2)bulks heat-treated at 800℃.This enhancement is due to successful substitution of biomass-derived carbon with high surface area into Mg^(11)b_(2)*** flux pinning mechanism of pure and doped Mg^(11)b_(2)bulks were investigated using the Dew-Hughes *** study provides information regarding enhancement of the Jc of low activation Mg^(11)b_(2)superconductors suitable for next-generation fusion magnets.

Oxidative stress,infection,and vasculopathy caused by hyperglycemia are the main barriers for the rapid repair of foot ulcers in patients with diabetes mellitus(DM).In recent times,the discovery of neddylation,a new type of post-translational modification,has been found to regulate various crucial biological processes including cell metabolism and the cell ***,its capacity to control the healing of wounds in diabetic patients remains *** study shows that MLN49224,a compound that inhibits neddylation at low concentrations,enhances the healing of diabetic wounds by inhibiting the polarization of M1 macrophages and reducing the secretion of inflammatory ***,it concurrently stimulates the growth,movement,and formation of blood vessel endothelial cells,leading to expedited healing of wounds in individuals with *** drug is loaded into biomimetic macrophage-membrane-coated PLGA nanoparticles(M-NPs/MLN4924).The membrane of macrophages shields nanoparticles from being eliminated in the reticuloendothelial system and counteracts the proinflammatory cytokines to alleviate inflammation in the surrounding *** extended discharge of MLN4924 from M-NPs/MLN4924 stimulates the growth of endothelial cells and the formation of tubes,along with the polarization of macrophages towards the anti-inflammatory M2 *** loading M-NPs/MLN4924 into a hydrogel,the final formulation is able to meaningfully repair a diabetic wound,suggesting that M-NPs/MLN4924 is a promising engineered nanoplatform for tissue engineering.
