basin Geomorphology and Drainage Morphometry Parameters Used as Indicators for Groundwater Prospect: Insight from Geographical Information system(GIs) Technique

Influence of structural and lithological controls of various drainage patterns and their stream orientations（for 2nd, 3rd and 4th order steams） were identified to evaluate the direction and controlling factors of drainage network. To investigate the prospect of groundwater, hydrogeomorphological features of river basin viz. Mulki-Pavanje were identified and mapped. To evaluate the characteristics of the basin, different morphometric parameters（linear, areal and relief） were computed in sub-basin wise（sb-I to-VII）. The linear parameters suggest drainage network is controlled by geomorphology. The form factor（Ff）, elongation ratio（Re） and circularity ratio（Rc） suggest that the basin is in an elongated shape. The drainage density（Dd） indicates resistant/permeable strata under medium-dense vegetation with moderate relief. The areal parameters of the sub-basins（except sbI and Ⅲ） indicates moderate ground-slopes associated with moderately permeable rocks, which promote moderate run-off and infiltration. Drainage texture（T） of the whole basin indicates coarse texture while the sb-I, and Ⅲ showing an intermediate texture. The relief parameters namely ruggedness number（Rn） infers low basin relief and poor drainage density. To identify the most deficit/surplus zones of groundwater suitable weightages were assigned to the hydrogeomorphological units and morphometric parameters. The study reveal that the basin manifest that sb-Ⅲ shall be most deficit zone of groundwater, whereas sb-VII, VI and V are found to show increase in groundwater potentiality. Groundwater prospect area in this basin is estimated to be 7% area under poor, 44% area under moderate and 49% area under good to excellent. This paper demonstrated the potential application of geographical information system（GIs） techniques to evaluate the groundwater prospect in absence of traditional groundwater monitoring data.

Effect of COOH-functionalized sWCNT addition on the electrical and photovoltaic characteristics of Malachite Green dye based photovoltaic cells

We report the effect of COOH-functionalized single walled carbon nanotubes（COOH-sWCNT） on the electrical and photovoltaic characteristics of Malachite Green（MG） dye based photovoltaic cells. Two different types of photovoltaic cells were prepared, one with MG dye and another by incorporating COOH-sWCNT with this dye. Cells were characterized through different electrical and photovoltaic measurements including photocurrent measurements with pulsed radiation. From the dark current–voltage（I–V） characteristic results, we observed a certain transition voltage（Vth/ for both the cells beyond which the conduction mechanism of the cells change sharply. For the MG dye, Vthis 3.9 V whereas for COOH-sWCNT mixed with this dye, Vthdrops to 2.7 V. The device performance improves due to the incorporation of COOH-sWCNT. The open circuit voltage and short circuit current density change from 4.2 to 97 m V and from 108 to 965 A/cm2 respectively. Observations from photocurrent measurements show that the rate of growth and decay of the photocurrent are quite faster in the presence of COOH-sWCNT. This observation indicates a faster charge separation processes due to the incorporation of COOHsWCNT in the MG dye cells. The high aspect ratio of COOH-sWCNT allows efficient conduction pathways for the generated charge carriers.

Experimental investigation into fabrication of microfeatures on titanium by electrochemical micromachining

Titanium machining is one of the challenging tasks to modem machining processes. Especially fabricat- ing microfeatures on titanium appear as a potential research interest. Electrochemical micromachining （EMM） is an effective process to generate microfeatures by anodic dis- solution. Machining of titanium by anodic dissolution is different than other metals because of its tendency to form passive oxide layer. The phenomenon of progression of microfeature by conversion of passive oxide layer into transpassive has been investigated with the help of mask- less EMM technique. suitable range of machining voltage has been established to attain the controlled anodic disso- lution of titanium by converting passive oxide film of titanium into transpassive with nonaqueous electrolyte. The experimental outcomes revealed that the micromachining of titanium with controlled anodic dissolution could be possible even at lower machining voltage in the range of 6-8 V. This work successfully explored the possibility of generation of microfeatures on commercially pure titanium by anodic dissolution process in microscopic domain by demonstrating successful fabrication of various microfea- tures, such as microholes and microcantilevers.

An Investigation on Rotating bending Fatigue behavior of Nanostructured Low-Temperature bainitic steel

The aim of this work is to investigate the fatigue behavior of a new class of nanostructured, low-temperature bainitic steels, where rotating bending fatigue tests were conducted on samples isothermally transformed at 300, 250, and 200 ℃, after which, fracture surfaces were examined using scanning electron microscopy. Results showed that, fatigue limits of about 820, 945, and 1,005 MPa were achieved for the samples transformed at each transformation temperature, respectively. Moreover, according to the sEM micrographs, secondary crack initiation was observed in the high carbon retained austenite blocks for samples transformed at 300 ℃ and at the interface of blocky austenite-bainitic ferrite for samples transformed at 250 and 200 ℃.

This paper presents isothermal uniaxial compression test results of M300 grade maraging steel over a wide range of temperatures(900 e1200℃) and strain rates(0.001 e100 s^(-1)) to examine hot deformability and concurrent microstructural evolution. Processing map is generated and indicated the optimum processing parameters in the temperature range of 1125℃-1200℃ and strain rate range of 0.001 e0.1 s^(-1). High values of the efficiency of power dissipation, microstructural observations and EbsD results indicate softening mechanism to be the occurrence of dynamic recrystallisation. Material constants in a constitutive relation are evaluated from the flow stress data useful in computer modelling.

We study the effect of a force-free end on the mechanical property of a stretched *** system can be divided into two *** first part consists of the segment counted from the fixed point（i.e.,the origin） to the forced point in the biopolymer,with arclength L_*** second part consists of the segment counted from the forced point to the force-free end with arclength △*** apply the path integral technique to find the relationship between these two *** finite temperature and without any constraint at the end,we show exactly that if we focus on the quantities related to the first part,then we can ignore the second part *** Carlo simulation confirms this *** contrast,the effect for the quantities related to the second part is dependent on what we want to observe.A force-free end has little effect on the relative extension,but it affects seriously the value of the end-to-end distance if △L is comparable to L_f.
