Targeting the complement system in pancreatic cancer drug resistance:a novel therapeutic approach

Pancreatic cancer is ranked as the fourth leading cause of cancer-related mortality and is predicted to become the second leading cause of cancer-related death by *** cause of this high mortality rate is due to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma’s rapid progression and metastasis,and development of drug ***,cancer immunotherapy is becoming a strong candidate to not only treat various cancers but also to combat against *** have suggested that complement system pathways play an important role in cancer progression and chemoresistance,especially in pancreatic cancer.A recent report also suggested that several signaling pathways play an important role in causing chemoresistance in pancreatic cancer,major ones including nuclear factor kappa b,signal transducer and activator of transcription 3,c-mesenchymal-epithelial transition factor,and phosphoinositide-3-kinase/protein kinase *** addition,it has also been proven that the complement system has a very active role in establishing the tumor microenvironment,which would aid in promoting tumorigenesis,progression,metastasis,and ***,it has been shown that the downstream products of the complement system directly upregulate inflammatory mediators,which in turn activate these chemo-resistant ***,targeting complement pathways could be an innovative approach to combat against pancreatic cancer drugs *** this review,we have discussed the role of complement system pathways in pancreatic cancer drug resistance and a special focus on the complement as a therapeutic target in pancreatic cancer.

Flow turbulence presented by different vegetation spacing sizes within a submerged vegetation patch

This study presents results from a vegetation-induced flow experimental study which investigates 3-D turbulence structure profiles,including Reynolds stress,turbulence intensity and bursting analysis of open channel *** vegetation densities have been built between the adjacent vegetations,and the flow measurements are taken using acoustic Doppler velocimeter(ADV)at the locations within and downstream of the vegetation *** different tests are conducted,where the first test has compact vegetations,while the second and the third tests have open spaces created by one and two empty vegetation slots within the vegetated *** reveals that over 10%of eddies size is generated within the vegetated zone of compact vegetations as compared with the fewer *** turbulence structures variation is also observed at the points in the non-vegetated *** findings from burst-cycle analysis show that the sweep and outward interaction events are dominant,where they further increase away from the *** effect of vegetation on the turbulent burst cycle is mostly obvious up to approximately two-third of vegetation height where this phenomenon is also observed for most other turbulent structure.

In this present paper,we study the entanglement dynamics in qubit A-qutrit b pair under x component of Dzyaloshinshkii-Moriya interaction(D_x)by taking an auxiliary qubit ***,we consider an entangled qubit-qutrit pair initially prepared in two parameter qubit-qutrit states and one auxiliary qubit prepared in pure state interacts with the qutrit of the pair through DM *** trace away the auxiliary qubit and calculate the reduced dynamics in qubit A-qutrit b pair to study the influence of the state of auxiliary qubit C and D_x on *** find that the state(probability amplitude)of auxiliary qubit does not influence the entanglement,only D_x influences the *** phenomenon of entanglement sudden death(ESD)induced by D_x has also been *** also present the affected and unaffected two parameter qubit-qutrit states by D_x.

Microalgal bioremediation of food-processing industrial wastewater under mixotrophic conditions： kinetics and scaleup approach

The Chlorella microalgae were mixotrophically cultivated in an unsterilized and unfikered raw foodprocessing industrial wastewater. both inorganic carbon （CO2-air） and organic carbon （wastewater） were provided simultaneously for microalgae growth. The aim of the study is to find out the utilization rates of total organic carbon （TOC） and chemical oxygen demand （COD） under mixotrophic conditions for a given waste water. About 90% reduction in TOC and COD were obtained for all dilutions of wastewater. Over 60% of nitrate and 40% of phosphate were consumed by microalgae from concentrated raw wastewater. This study shows that microalgae can use both organic and inorganic sources of carbon in more or less quantity under mixotrophic conditions. The growth of microalgae in food-processing industrial wastewater with all studied dilution factors, viz. zero （raw）, 1.6 （dilution A）, and 5 （dilution b） suggests that the freshwater requirement could be reduced substantially （20%-60%）. The degradation kinetics also suggests that the microalgae cultivation on a high COD wastewater is feasible and scalable.

Densities, ρ, ultrasonic speeds, u , viscosities, η , and refractive indices, n , of pure benzene, benzyl alcohol (bA), benzonitrile (bN), benzoyl chloride (bC), chlorobenzene (Cb) and their thirty six binary mixtures, with benzene as common component, were measured at 303.15 k over the entire mole fraction range. From these experimental data the values of deviations in ultrasonic speed, Δ u , isentropic compressibility, Δk s , excess acoustic impedance, Z E , deviation in viscosity, Δη, and excess Gibbs free energy of activation of viscous flow, G *E , and partial molar isentropic compressibility, of bA, bN, bC and Cb in benzene were computed. The variation of these derived functions with composition of the mixtures suggested the increased cohesion (molecular order) in the solution and that interaction (A‐b)>(A‐A) or (b‐b). Moreover, theoretical prediction of ultrasonic speed, viscosity and refractive index of all the four binary mixtures was made on the basis of empirical and semi‐empirical relations by using the experimental values of the pure components. Comparison of theoretical results with the experimental values was made in order to assess the suitability of these relations in reproducing the experimental values of u , η and n . Also, molecular radii of pure liquids and the average molecular radii of binary mixtures were evaluated using the corresponding refractive indices of pure liquids and binary mixtures. The average molecular radii of binary mixtures were found to be additive with respect to mole fraction of the pure component.

Mineralogical,geochemical and isotopic(Sr and Nd) studies on the recently reported ca. 124 Ma'anorogenic lamproite' dyke from the Palanpur area, kutch seismogenic rift zone, northwestern India, are presented. We propose a new classification for the dyke as a damtjernite(ultramafic lamprophyre; UML)based on its porphyritic-panidiomorphic texture, abundance of phlogopite, presence of nepheline in the groundmass, and the composition of liquidus phases such as olivine, phlogopite, magnetite, and clinopyroxene(diopside). The Palanpur UML is primitive(Mg# =74-77),silica-undersaturated(SiO_2kingly similar to the ～69 Ma UML dykes and sills of the Tethyan Indus suture zone, which are considered as the earliest yet known manifestations of the Deccan Large Igneous Province(LIP). bulk-rock(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)_i(0.70460-0.70461) and ε_(N)d(t)(+2.56 to-0.69) of the Palanpur UML signify derivation from a slightly depleted mantle source similar to that of asthenospheric magmas such as OIb. This is further attested to by the high incompatible trace element ratios(viz., La/ba, Nb/U, Nb/La and Ta/Yb) that are typical of plume-type magmas. However, the Neoproterozoic T_(DM) depleted mantle Nd model ages( ～655-919 Ma) also necessitate some involvement of a lithospheric mantle component in its genesis. High bulk-rock Fe_2 O_3~t and TiO_2 contents require the involvement of a fertile peridotitic mantle source, whereas high La/Yb(60-80) implies a control by residual garnet. Higher Rb/Sr and lower ba/Rb suggest phlogopite as a residual phase and high Nb and lower La/Sm favour carbonatite, rather than silicate melt as metasomatising agent. Low degrees of partial melting of a primitive garnet lherzolite mantle can account for the observed REE patterns in the Palanpur UML. The Palanpur UML shares a temporal similarity to the kerguelen plume-derived Rajmahal basalts and associated alkaline rocks from the eastern India. The tectonomagmatic

In this work,we study the magnetic field morphology of selected star-forming clouds spread over the galactic latitude(b)range−10°to 10°.The polarimetric observations of clouds Cb24,Cb27 and Cb188 are conducted to study the magnetic field geometry of those clouds using the 104 cm Sampurnanand Telescope(ST)located at ARIES,Manora Peak,Nainital,*** observations are combined with those of 14 further low latitude clouds available in the *** of these clouds are located within a distance range 140–500 pc except for Cb3(∼2500 pc),Cb34(∼1500 pc),Cb39(∼1500 pc)and Cb60(∼1500 pc).Analyzing the polarimetric data of 17 clouds,we find that the alignment between the envelope magnetic field(θ^(env)_(b))and galactic plane(GP)(θGP)of the low-latitude clouds varies with their galactic longitudes(l).We observe a strong correlation between the longitude(l)and the offset(θ_(off)=|θ^(env)_(b)-θ_(GP))which shows that θ^(env)_(b) is parallel to the GP when the clouds are situated in the region 115°b) has its own local deflection irrespective of the orientation of θGP when the clouds are at l250°.To check the consistency of our results,the stellar polarization data available in the Heiles catalog are overlaid on the DSS image of the clouds having mean polarization vector of field *** results are almost consistent with the Heiles data.A systematic discussion is presented in the *** effect of turbulence in the cloud is also studied which may play an important role in causing the misalignment phenomenon observed between θ^(env)_(b) and θ_(GP).We have used Herschel(Herschel is an ESA space observatory with science instruments provided by European-led Principal Investigator consortia and with important participation from NASA.)SPIRE 500μm and SCUbA 850μm dust continuum emission maps in our work to understand the density structure of the clouds.

We study the evolution of the configuration entropy of HI distribution in the post-reionization era assuming different time evolution of HI *** describe time evolution of linear bias of HI distribution using a simple form b(a)=b_(0)a^(n) with different index *** derivative of the configuration entropy rate is known to exhibit a peak at the scale factor corresponding to theΛ-matter equality in the unbiasedΛCDM *** show that in theΛCDM model with time-dependent linear bias,the peak shifts to smaller scale factors for negative values of *** is related to the fact that the growth of structures in the HI density field can significantly slow down even before the onset ofΛdomination in the presence of a strong time evolution of the HI *** find that the shift is linearly related to the index *** obtain the best fit relation between these two parameters and propose that identifying the location of this peak from observations would allow us to constrain the time evolution of HI bias within the framework of theΛCDM model.
