The Relative Orientation between Local Magnetic Field and Galactic Plane in Low Latitude Dark Clouds

In this work,we study the magnetic field morphology of selected star-forming clouds spread over the galactic latitude(b)range−10°to 10°.The polarimetric observations of clouds Cb24,Cb27 and Cb188 are conducted to study the magnetic field geometry of those clouds using the 104 cm Sampurnanand Telescope(ST)located at ARIES,Manora Peak,Nainital,*** observations are combined with those of 14 further low latitude clouds available in the *** of these clouds are located within a distance range 140–500 pc except for Cb3(∼2500 pc),Cb34(∼1500 pc),Cb39(∼1500 pc)and Cb60(∼1500 pc).Analyzing the polarimetric data of 17 clouds,we find that the alignment between the envelope magnetic field(θ^(env)_(b))and galactic plane(GP)(θGP)of the low-latitude clouds varies with their galactic longitudes(l).We observe a strong correlation between the longitude(l)and the offset(θ_(off)=|θ^(env)_(b)-θ_(GP))which shows that θ^(env)_(b) is parallel to the GP when the clouds are situated in the region 115°b) has its own local deflection irrespective of the orientation of θGP when the clouds are at l250°.To check the consistency of our results,the stellar polarization data available in the Heiles catalog are overlaid on the DSS image of the clouds having mean polarization vector of field *** results are almost consistent with the Heiles data.A systematic discussion is presented in the *** effect of turbulence in the cloud is also studied which may play an important role in causing the misalignment phenomenon observed between θ^(env)_(b) and θ_(GP).We have used Herschel(Herschel is an ESA space observatory with science instruments provided by European-led Principal Investigator consortia and with important participation from NASA.)SPIRE 500μm and SCUbA 850μm dust continuum emission maps in our work to understand the density structure of the clouds.

Role of CYP2E1 gene polymorphisms association with hepatitis risk in Northeast India

AIM:To investigate hepatitis virus, genetic and environmental factors, and their interactions in predisposing patients to liver diseases in Northeast India. METHODS:A total of 104 jaundice patients and 124 community controls were included. Serological analysis was performed by routine enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and nucleic acid testing for hepatitis viruses was done by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), followed by PCR direct sequencing for viral genotyping. Cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) polymorphism was studied by PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism. Nitrite and volatile nitrosamines in indigenous foods consumed routinely by the Northeast Indian ethnic population were estimated by Griess’s reagent and GC-MS, ***: Hepatitis A virus (HAV) infection was predominantly prevalent (36.5%) in our cohort, followed by hepatitis b virus (HbV), hepatitis E virus (HEV) andhepatitis C virus. HbV genotype D and HEV genotype 1 were the most dominant. CYP2E1 c1/c2 genotype frequency was comparatively higher in alcoholic (Pbetel leaf and nuts were found to have the highest nitrite content. CONCLUSION: Apart from viral factors, CYP2E1 polymorphism might be associated with increased risk of liver diseases in Northeast India. Indigenous foods that contain nitrite and nitrosamine might be an associated risk factor.

＜正＞Introduction: Urinary incontinence is a important disabling condition in the children which can be pathological in etiology. Oxybutanin and tolterodine are two anticholinergic drugs which are routinely prescribed for symptomatic treatment. So aim of present study was to evaluate efficacy and safety of these two drugs in short term use in pediatric patients. Materials and Methods: The patients attending outpatients department of pediatric surgery who were prescribed oxybutanin and tolterodine were followed for one month. Urodynamics at baseline and after one month were recorded. Patents were evaluated for any observed adverse drug reaction and quality of life during one month of treatment period. Results: Total 41 patients were observed for one month. 24 were prescribed oxybutanin and 17 tolterodine. Patients suffering from urinary incontinence were diagnosed as having posterior urethral valves and maningomyeolcele. both the drugs were well tolerated and relatively efficacious. There was significance improvement in the quality of life of 39 patients within three days of therapy as well as urodynamics after completion of one month treatment. Two patients did show any improvement. Total three events were reported in tolterodine group（fever-1, constipation-1, and redness in the eye-1） and 18 （fever, constipation and redness in the eye in three each, dry mouth and increase in thirst in two each, and one each of headache, decrease sweating, dry cough and altered appetite） in oxybutanin group. Five patients were change the therapy from tolterodine to oxybutanin because of fever and constipation which results improvement of symptoms. Conclusion: Oxybutanin and tolterodine is relatively well tolerated and efficacious in pediatric patients suffering from urinary incontinence for short term of use.

Maximizing biomass utilization: An integrated strategy for coproducing multiple chemicals

Lignocellulosic biomass is one of the viable solutions to alleviate the global warming. However, the limited utilization of biomass majorly focused on cellulose and hemicellulose restricts the economic and environmental feasibilities. To cope with this issue, we proposed an integrated process of co-producing 1,6-hexanediol（1,6-HDO） with tetrahydrofuran and adipic acid from biomass, referred to as Strategy A. To compare the impacts of lignin upgrading and feedstock, Strategy b, which co-produces tetrahydrofuran alone, and Strategy C, which is the traditional route to produce 1,6-HDO from fossil fuels, were used. Heat networks are also designed to reduce operating costs and indirect carbon emissions due to energy consumption, saving 87% and 83% of the heat and cooling requirements, respectively, in Strategy A. The market competitiveness of Strategy A was evaluated by determining the minimum selling price through techno-economic analysis, and sustainability was thoroughly investigated by quantifying the environmental impacts through both midpoint and endpoint life-cycle assessments（LCAs）.Strategy A was found to be the most favorable both economically（USRDSCHARDOLLAR3,402/ton） and environmentally（-26.9 kg CO2eq.）. This indicates that lignin valorization is not only economically but also environmentally preferred. Finally, changes in economic and environmental feasibilities depending on economic, process, and environmental parameters were investigated using sensitivity and uncertainty analyses. The results of these analyses provide valuable insight into bio-based chemical production.

Viral Genotypes and Associated Risk Factors of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in India

Objective This study aims to investigate the etiological relationship among hepatitis b virus （HbV）, hepatitis C virus （HCV）, and alcohol as risk factors in a cohort of hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） patients from India. The clinical and biochemical profiles and tumor characteristics in the HCC cases were also evaluated. Methods A total of 357 consecutive cases of HCC fulfilling the diagnostic criteria from the barcelona-2000 EASL conference were included in the study. The blood samples were evaluated for serological evidence of HbV and HCV infection, viral load, and genotypes using serological tests, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, and restriction fragment length polymorphism. Results The male/female ratio for the HCC cases was 5.87：1. Majority of the HCC patients （33.9%） were 50 to 59 years of age, with a mean age of 4±13.23 years. More than half the cases （60.8%） had underlying cirrhosis at presentation. Among the HCC patients, 68.9% were HbV related, 21.3% were HCV related, 18.8%, were alcoholic, and 18.2% were of cryptogenic origin. The presence of any marker positive for HbV increased the risk for developing HCC by almost 27 times [OR： 27.33; （12.87-60.0）]. An increased risk of 10.6 times was observed for HCC development for cases positive for ally HCV marker [OR： 10.55; （3.13-42.73）]. Heavy alcohol consumption along with HCV RNA positivity in cirrhotic patients was found to be a risk for developing HCC by 3 folds ]OR： 3.17; （0.37-70.71）]. Conclusions Patients of chronic HbV infection followed by chronic HCV infection were at higher risk of developing HCC in India. Chronic alcohol consumption was found to be a risk factor in cirrhotic cases only when it was associated with HCV RNA positivity. Most of the patients had a large tumor size （〉5 cm） with multiple liver nodules, indicating an advanced stage of the disease thus making curative therapies difficult.

The heat transfer and entropy generation characteristics of the magnetohydrodynamic Casson fluid flow through an inclined microchannel with convective boundary conditions are ***,the effects of the viscous forces,joule heating,heat source/sink,and radiation on the flow are taken into *** non-dimensional transformations are used to solve the governing ***,the reduced system is resolved by the fourth-fifth order Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg method along with the shooting *** effects of different physical parameters on the heat transfer and entropy generation are discussed in detail through *** the perspective of numerical results,it is recognized that the production of entropy can be improved with the joule heating,viscous dissipation,and convective heating *** is concluded that the production of entropy is the maximum with increases in the Casson parameter,the angle of inclination,and the Hartmann *** the Reynolds number and the radiation parameter cause the dual impact on entropy generation.

Optimization of heat transfer in the thermal Marangoni convective flow of a hybrid nanomaterial with sensitivity analysis

The heat transfer rate of the thermal Marangoni convective flow of a hybrid nanomaterial is optimized by using the response surface methodology(RSM).The thermal phenomenon is modeled in the presence of a variable inclined magnetic field,thermal radiation,and an exponential heat *** estimated values of the thermal conductivity and viscosity of the hybrid nanomaterial are utilized in the *** governing intricate nonlinear problem is treated numerically,and a parametric analysis is carried out by using graphical visualizations.A finite difference-based numerical scheme is utilized in conjunction with the 4-stage Lobatto IIIa formula to solve the nonlinear governing *** interactive effects of the pertinent parameters on the heat transfer rate are presented by plotting the response surfaces and the contours obtained from the *** mono and hybrid nanomaterial flow fields are *** hybrid nanomaterial possesses enhanced thermal fields for nanoparticle volume fractions less than 2%.The irregular heat source and the thermal radiation enhance the temperature *** high level of the thermal radiation and the low levels of the exponential heat source and the angle of inclination(of the magnetic field)lead to the optimized heat transfer rate(Nux=7.46275).

Similarity measure is an essential tool to compare and determine the degree of similarity between intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs). In this paper, a new similarity measure between intuitionistic fuzzy sets based on the mid points of transformed triangular fuzzy numbers is proposed. The proposed similarity measure provides reasonable results not only for the sets available in the literature but also gives very reasonable results, especially for fuzzy sets as well as for most intuitionistic fuzzy sets. To provide supportive evidence, the proposed similarity measure is tested on certain sets available in literature and is also applied to pattern recognition and medical diagnosis problems. It is observed that the proposed similarity measure provides a very intuitive quantification.
