Positioning spherical nanoantennas with picometer precision

Accurate positioning of nanoantennas is critical for their efficient excitation and ***,since nanoantennas are subwavelength nanoparticles,normally smaller than the diffraction limit,measuring their positions presents a significant *** is particularly true for locating the nanoantenna along the z-direction,for which no suitable method currently ***,we have theoretically developed and experimentally validated a novel light field capable of measuring the 3D positions of nanoantennas *** field’s polarization chirality transitions from right-handed to left-handed along a predefined 3D direction at a subwavelength *** a spherical single-element nanoantenna,the polarization components of the scattering field change significantly as the nanoantenna moves,due to the rapid polarization transformation in the excitation light *** analyzing the polarization components of the scattering field,we can achieve positional accuracy of the nanoantenna along the specified direction close to 20 *** work improves the accuracy of transversely distinguishing nanoantennas from 100 pm in conventional methods to 20 ***,the positioning of the nanoantenna along three dimensions is all available as polarization transitions can be predefined along arbitrary3D direction,which is significant for precision measurement and nanoscale optics.

Effect of Carbon Nanotube Orientation on Mechanical Properties and Thermal Expansion Coefficient of Carbon Nanotube-Reinforced Aluminum matrix Composites

Carbon nanotube-reinforced 2009Al （CNT/2009Al） composites with randomly oriented CNTs and aligned CNTs were fabricated by friction stir processing （FSP） and FSP-rolling, respectively. The CNT/2009A1 composites with aligned CNTs showed much better tensile properties at room temperature and elevated temperature compared with those with the randomly oriented CNTs, which is mainly attributed to larger equivalent aspect ratio of the CNTs and avoidance of preferential fracture problems. However, much finer grain size was not beneficial to obtaining high strength above 473 K. The aligned CNTs resulted in tensile anisotropy, with the best tensile properties being achieved along the direction of CNT aligning. As the off-axis angle increased, the tensile properties were reduced due to the weakening of the load transfer ability. Furthermore, aligned CNTs resulted in much lower coefficient of thermal expansion compared with randomly oriented CNTs.

Tensile Strength and Electrical Conductivity of Carbon Nanotube Reinforced Aluminum matrix Composites Fabricated by Powder Metallurgy Combined with Friction Stir Processing

A route combining powder metallurgy and subsequent friction stir processing was utilized to fabricate carbon nanotube （CNT） reinforced AI （CNT/AI） and 6061AI （CNT/6061AI） composites. Microstructural observations indicated that CNTs were uniformly dispersed in the matrix in both CNT/AI and CNT/6061AI composites. Mg and Si elements tended to segregate at CNT-AI interfaces in the CNT/6061AI composite during artificial aging treatment. The tensile properties of both the AI and 6061AI were increased by CNT incorporation. The electrical conductivity of CNT/AI was decreased by CNT addition, while CNT/6061AI exhibited an increase in electrical conductivity due to the Mg and Si segregation.

Achieving Large-area bulk Ultrafine Grained Cu via Submerged Multiple-pass Friction Stir Processing

Large-area bulk ultrafine grained （UFG） pure Cu was successfully prepared by multiple-pass overlapping friction stir processing （FSP） under additional rapid cooling. Overlapping FSP did not exert a significant effect on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the FSP UFG Cu. Similar average grain size was achieved in the transitional zone （Tz） of the multiple-pass FSP sample compared to that in the nugget zone of the single-pass FSP sample, and the Tz exhibited a strong {111}（112） type A fiber shear texture, Very weak softening occurred in the Tz of the multiple-pass FSP UFG Cu, resulting in a relatively uniform hardness distribution throughout the whole processed zone. A high yield strength of - 310 MPa and a uniform elongation of - 13% were achieved in the bulk FSP UFG Cu. This study provides an effective strategy to prepare large-area bulk IUFG materials.

Electron pairing along with phase coherence generates superconductivity below the critical temperature （Tc）.In underdoped highTccuprates,these two quantum phenomena may occur at separate temperatures,which was lately confirmed in the quasi-twodimensional （quasi-2D） iron chalcogenide ***,we report a systematic investigation on the pre-pairing behavior in a triclinic iron pnictide superconductor (Ca0.85La0.15)10（Pt3As8）(Fe2As2)5with Tc≈30 K,where the superconductivity is quasi-2D manifested by the berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless *** neutron scattering experiments unambiguously reveal a spin resonance peak around ER=13 me V in the superconducting state,but its intensity continuously decreases when warming up across Tc,accompanied with an anomaly around T*≈45 K in spin correlations,and a suppression by an in-plane magnetic field persisting to the same *** T*,a significant Nernst signal and a reduction of density of states at the Fermi level are also *** results suggest that the precursor of spin resonance is highly related to the preformed Cooper pairs driven by phase fluctuations,much like the pseudogap case in cuprates.

High-Speed Friction Stir Welding of T6-Treated b4Cp/6061Al Composite

T6-treated 20 wt% b4 Cp/6061 Al sheets were joined under welding speeds of 400–1200 mm/min by friction stir welding(FSW) with a threaded cermet pin. The macro-defect-free FSW joints could be achieved at high welding speeds up to 1200 mm/min, but larger plunge depth was required at the welding speeds of 800 and 1200 mm/min to eliminate the tunnel defect. In the nugget zone(Nz) of the joints, the b4 C particles were broken up and uniformly redistributed. The Nz exhibited lower hardness than the base metal(bM), and the hardness value almost did not change with increasing welding speed, attributable to the dissolution of precipitates. Compared with the bM, the joints showed lower tensile strength. As the welding speed increased from 400 to 800 mm/min, the joint efficiencies were nearly the same and up to ~ 73%. When the welding speed increased up to 1200 mm/min, the tensile strength significantly decreased, due to the occurrence of kissing bond defect at the bottom of the Nz. With increasing welding speed, the fracture location of the joints transferred gradually from the heat-affected zone to the Nz due to the kissing bond defects.

Neuroprotective and antidiabetic lanostane-type triterpenoids from the fruiting bodies of Ganoderma theaecolum

Eight previously undescribed lanostane triterpenoids,including five nortriterpenoids with 2 6carbons,ganothenoids A-E（1-5）,and three lanostanoids,ganothenoids F-H（6-8）,along with 24 known ones（9-32）,were isolated from the fruiting bodies of Ganodrma *** structures of the novel compounds were elucidated using comprehensive spectroscopic methods,including electronic circular dichroism（ECD） and nuclear magnetic resonance（NMR） *** 1-32 were assessed for their neuroprotective effects against H2O2-induced damage in human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells,as well as their inhibitory activities against protein tyrosine phosphatase 1b（PTP1b） and α-*** 4demonstrated the most potent neuroprotective activity against H2O2-induced oxidative stress by suppressing G0/G1phase cell cycle arrest,reducing reactive oxygen species（ROS） levels,and inhibiting cell apoptosis through modulation of b-cell lymphoma 2 protein（bcl-2） and bcl-2 associated X-protein（bax） protein *** 26,12,and 28 exhibited PTP1b inhibitory activities with IC50values ranging from 13.92 to 56.94 μmol·L-1,while compound12 alone displayed significant inhibitory effects on α-glucosidase with an IC50value of 43.56μmol·***,enzyme kinetic analyses and molecular docking simulations were conducted for compounds 26 and 12 with PTP1b and α-glucosidase,respectively.
