Epidemiologic, Diagnostic, and Therapeutic Features of Urinary Stone Disease in Northern benin from 2018 to 2023

Objective: To determine the epidemiologic, diagnostic, and therapeutic features of urinary in northern benin from 2018 to 2023. Patients and Method: The study was an observational and descriptive one. We exhaustively and retrospectively collected data from the medical records of the patients that were managed from February 1, 2018 to February 1, 2023 at the Department of Surgery of “Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Départmental borgou-Alibori or CHUD-bA”. results: Among the 4522 patients managed, 75% or 1.7% had urinary stone disease. Their mean age was 41 years. The sex ratio was 2.75, the males being predominantly affected. Of the 75 cases of urinary stone disease, 30.7% (n = 23) were renal, 46.7% (n = 35) were ureteral, and 22.7% (n = 17) were vesical. The patients came from variable geographical areas, ethnic groups, and professional sectors. Their main complaints were pain (57.3%), hematuria (14.7%), dysuria (12%), and fever (5.3%). 15 (20%) patients, i.e., 7 renal stone and 8 ureteral stone patients, had an obstructive renal failure. The imaging tools available were ultrasonography, tomography and computed tomographic scan. 11 of the bladder stone cases (64.7%) were associated with a bladder outlet obstruction. Overall, 38.7% of the patients had either diabetes mellitus (6.7%), hypertension or high blood pressure (6.7%), benign prostate hyperplasia (8%), urinary schistosomiasis (6.7%), ureteral pelvic junction obstruction (2.7%), and prostate cancer (1.3%). Of the 19 patients whose dietary behavior was investigated 15 (79%), 11 (57.9%) et 11 (57.9%) demonstrated a diet which was respectively rich in milk, fromage and meat. 100% of bladder stones were removed through cystolithotomy. renal stones were removed by pyelolithtomy (52.2%) and nephrolithotomy (21.7%). Ureteral stones were removed through ureterolithotomy (40%), expelled by means of alpha-blockers (40%) or managed with ureteral pigtail stent (20%). Psychometric scales,commonly used to gauge sexual function,can sometimes be influenced by response *** our researchfrom June 2020 to April 2021,we examined the accuracy of self-reported sexual function *** invited patients from theDepartment of Infertility and Sexual Medicine at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University(Guangzhou,China),whohave male sexual dysfunction,to participate by filling out a self-reported version of a specific *** addition,they wentthrough a clinician-assisted version of this questionnaire,encompassing tools such as the Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool(PEDT),the 6-item International Index of Erectile Function(IIEF-6),the Erection Hardness Scale(EHS),and the MasturbationErection Index(MEI).Using the clinician-assisted version as a reference,we categorized patients and applied various statisticalmethods,such as the Chi-square test,intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC),logistic regression,and the bland–Altman plot,to gauge *** our study with 322 participants,we found that while there were no notable discrepancies in error ratesbased on our categorization,certain scales showed significant differences in terms of overestimation and underestimation,withthe exception of the *** positive diagnosis rate consistency between the self-reported and clinician-assisted versions *** ICC values between the two versions across the scales were indicative of remarkable *** findings showthat the self-reported versions of tools such as EHS,IIEF-6,MEI,and PEDT are credible and hold clinical ***,employing a dual-diagnosis approach might be more prudent to circumvent potential misdiagnoses.

Luteolin attenuates diabetic nephropathy via inhibition of metalloenzymes in rats

为了降低Ⅲ族氮化物材料和器件的成本 ,必须开发大尺寸的Ⅲ族氮化物MOVPE生长的反应器。本文报道了EMCOrE公司的一种带有旋转盘的立式反应器 ,其中的衬底片载盘直径为 32 5mm。每次沉积过程中 ,载盘上可以放置 2 1片 2英寸直径的衬底片。反应器的内壁通过水冷 ,其温度可保持在 5 0～ 6 0℃之间。衬底片可用电热丝加热 ,沉积中衬底载盘的旋转速度可达 1 0 0 0～ 1 5 0 0rpm。本文给出了用这种 32 5mmGaN生长系统生长的未掺杂GaN ,InGaN和 p GaN外延层的相关结果。这些结果表明 ,这种旋转盘的反应器是一种很适合大尺寸载盘的系统 ,完全满足Ⅲ族氮化物材料体系生长的要求。与在小反应器中生长的材料相比 ,用这种大反应器生长的材料具有相同的质量。这种 32 5mm的GaN反应器将使制备蓝光和绿光LED所用的Ⅲ族氮化外延材料的生产成本得到显著的降低。

Effect of Hot torsion Parameters on Development of Ultrafine Ferrite Grains in Microalloyed Steel

Hot torsion testing was performed on a low carbon Nb-Ti microalloyed steel to study the effects of hot tor- sion parameters, strain and strain rate, on ultrafine ferrite grains production through dynamic strain-induced trans- formation, at a deformation temperature just above At3. The initiation and evolution of ultrafine ferrite grains were studied. The results show that the amount of strain and strain rate has conversely effect on the volume fraction and grain size of ultrafine ferrite grains. With increasing strain, the interior of austenite grains become activated as nucle- ation sites for fine ferrite grains. As a result, ferrite grains continuously nucleate not only at the former austenite grain boundaries but also inside the austenite grains which leads to a rapid increase in volume fraction of ultrafine grains. Increasing of strain rate reduces the tendency of ferrite grains coarsening so that ultrafine ferrite grains are achieved, while the volume fraction of ultrafine grains decreases at the same strain level.

Anisodamine Inhibits Endotoxin-induced Tissue Factor Expression in Human Endothelial Cells

by study on the effect of anisodamine on lipopolysaccharide- induced expression of tissue factor(TF) in vascular endothelial cells(EC) ,the mechanism of anisodam ine antithrom bosis,as well as in the treatm ent of bacteraemic shock was *** umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were cultured by trypsin digestion m *** activity was measured in the lysates of HUVEC by using a single step clotting *** m rNA expression was detected by Northern *** order to evaluate a possible contribution of the nuclear factor (NF) -κb pathway on the effects observed,electrophoretic mobility shift assays(EMSA) were performed using nuclear extracts from HU VECs and NF- κb- binding *** results showed that treatment of HUVEC with L PS resulted in a significant increase in TF *** dose- dependently inhibited L PS- induced upregulation of *** effects was also confirm ed on the level of specific TF m rNA expression by Northern *** ore,EMSA showed that anisodamine com pletely abolished L PS- induced NF-κb DNA binding activity in nuclear ex- tracts from HUVECs treated with L PS together with *** results suggest thataniso- damine counteracts endothelial cell activation by inhibiting L PS- induced TF expression in these *** interference with the NF- κb pathway might- at least in part- contribute to this effect. The ability of anisodamine to counteract L PS effect on endothelial cells m ight be one underlying m echanism explaining its antithrombosis and efficacy in the treatment of bacteraemic shock.

Combined treatment of pancreatic cancer xenograft with 90Y-ITGA6b4-mediated radioimmunotherapy and PI3K/m tor inhibitor

AIM To investigate the therapeutic effect of combined integrin α6β4-targeted radioimmunotherapy(rIT) and PI3 K/m tor inhibitor bEZ235 in a pancreatic cancer *** Phosphorylation of Akt, m tor, the downstream effectors eukaryotic initiation factor 4 E binding protein 1(4 EbP1) and S6 ribosomal protein(S6) were evaluated in bx PC-3 human pancreatic cancer cells treated with Yttrium-^(90)(^(90) Y) labeled anti-integrin α6β4 antibody(ITGA6 b4) and bEZ235 by western blotting. The cytotoxic effect of bEZ235 was investigated using a colony formation assay. Therapeutic efficacy enhancement by oral bEZ235 administration was assessed using mice bearing bx PC-3 xenograft tumors. Tumor volume measurements and immunohistochemical analyses(cell proliferation marker Ki-67, DNA damage marker p-H2 AX and p-4 EbP1 staining) of tumors were performed for evaluation of combined treatment with ^(90) Y-ITGA6 b4 plus bEZ235, or each arm *** We found that phosphorylation of Akt(p-Akt), 4 EbP1(p-4 EbP1) and S6(p-S6) was inhibited by bEZ235. Colony formation in bx PC-3 cells was additively suppressed by the combination of ^(90) Y-ITGA6 b4 and bEZ235. Pretreatment with bEZ235 before ^(90) Y-ITGA6 b4 exposure resulted in significant reduction of cells plating efficiency(PE)(0.54 ± 0.11 vs 2.81 ± 0.14 with 185 k bq/m L ^(90) Y-ITGA6 b4 exposure, P bq/m L ^(90) Y-ITGA6 b4 exposure, P r dish were plated. In vivo, the combined treatment with ^(90) Y-ITGA6 b4 plus bEZ235 enhanced the inhibition of tumor growth and statistically significant differences of relative tumor volume were observed for 27 d after the treatment start date when compared with the ^(90) Y-ITGA6 b4 single injection treatment(1.03 ± 0.38 vs 1.5 ± 0.15 at Day 27, P r 41 d when compared with the bEZ235 treatment alone(1.8 ± 0.7 vs 3.14 ± 1.19 at Day 41, P rs from treatment groups showed reduction in volumes, dec
