Xanthan sulfuric acid is an efficient solid acid catalyst for the preparation of 2-aryl benzimidazoles in excellent yields. This method is applicable for the reaction of benzo[c][ 1,2,5]thiadiazole-4,5-diamine with aldehydes by sim- ple physical grinding at room temperature. The salient features of the present methodology is cheaper process, easy synthesis of stable catalyst and the catalyst can be easily recycled without significant loss of activity.

Objective:Oral slow and sustained release drug delivery system can release their drug content with a controlled manner,producing a desirable blood serum level,reduction in drug toxicity and improving the patient compliance by prolonging dosing *** major drawback of orally administered drug like diltiazem as a calcium channel blocker for the treatment of angina pectoris,arrhythmia and *** has higher aqueous solubility and shorter elimination ***:To overcome these drawbacks associated with diltiazem,an attempt has been made to develop a sustained release dosage form of diltiazem embedded alginate microbeads by ionotropic gelation technique employing various concentrations of polymer and keeping the drug concentration ***:The beads were characterized for its particle size,drug content and in vitro release studies. The results revealed that the surface adhering drug was found to release immediately and a steady state of release was obtained up to 12 h from all the *** results indicated there was an inverse relationship between the concentration of alginate and drug *** drug release was found to follow non-fickian diffusion obeying first order ***:The developed alginate microbeads offered a sustained release of diltiazem. Hence,the formulated microbeads were found to be potential,cost effective,possess satisfactory in vitro release studies.

This study reports the influence of sintering mechanism and reinforcement materials on the formation of ultra-fine and nanograins in Al-Tib-Y nanohybrid composites. The mechanical properties of the composites and their corresponding micro and nanostructures are correlated. The experimental and characterization results revealed that despite the addition of Tib, the hard and brittle AlTi phase formation in the composites was suppressed and hence, their ductility was retained. It was found that yttrium content of 0.3 wt% was the optimum amount which created advantageous spark plasma sintering conditions, and the addition of 0.3 wt% promoted the formation of bi-modal size grains（ultra-fine and nano） along with micro grains, Ω and other nano precipitates, resulting in a significant enhancement in the composite properties. The formation of ultra-fine and nanograins may be attributed to the combined effect of melting and rapid solidification at necking zones due to Joule’s heating and thermomechanical fatigue. Among all the sintered composites, the highest hardness（137 HV）, ultimate tensile strength（UTS）(496 MPa), yield strength（YS）(438 MPa) with 15.7% elongation were obtained in the sintered sample reinforced with 1.0 wt% Tiband 0.3 wt% yttrium.

Hydrogen is a generally abundant, safe, clean and environmentally apt alternative fuel, which replenishes the void generated by depleting fossil fuel reserves. The adoption of hydrogen as an energy source has been restricted to low levels due to the complications associated with its viable storage and usage. Existing technologies, such as storage of hydrogen in compressed and liquefied forms are not adequate to meet the broad on-board applications. The gravimetric energy density(120 MJ/kg) of hydrogen is three times higher than that of gasoline products, so solid-state hydrogen storage is ***-organic frameworks(MOFs), multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs) and graphene are solid adsorbents majorly employed for efficient H_2 storage. The prominent features of MOFs such as permanent porosity, structural rigidity, and surface area are attractive and ideal for hydrogen storage. In addition,nanostructured carbon materials(MWCNTs and graphene) and their composites have demonstrated significant hydrogen storage capacities. Some important parameters for the success of the hydrogen economy include high storage density, adsorption/desorption temperature and cycling time. Cryo-hydrogen storage was achieved in MOFs and their composites with carbon structures, but storage at ambient temperature and acceptable pressures is a major hurdle. This review discusses various strategies and mechanisms in the design of adsorbents explored to improve H_2 storage capacities and afford opportunities to develop new sustainable hydrogen technologies to meet energy targets.

A signifcant challenge in the progress and development of building-Integrated-Photovoltaic(b-I-PV)systems is concerned with the extraction of maximum power from PV *** PV system archtecture is an essential feature to extract the maximum *** conventional PV-centralinverter architecture consists of various connections among the PV modules,which are sensitive to shading effects and pro-duces mismatching power loss under partial shading conditions(PSCs),Hence,photovoltaic-distributed-maximum power point tracking(PV-D-MPPT)architecture has been proposed to extract the maximum ***-1 D-MPPT architecture,the output terminals of DC-DC converters are connected either in series or parallel *** main limitation of the series configuration in open-loop MPPT control is the crosscoupling *** of cross-coupling effects,the maximum-power-point(M-P-P)operation of shaded PV modules is lost under *** lost in M-P-P operation of shaded PV module also affects the unshaded modules M-P-P *** crosscoupling ffeets,the DC-DC converters are consuming the power instead of delivering to the *** the research activity,there are hardly any papers presenting a clear,comprehensive and mathematical analysis on the existence of cross-couplings in PV string-integrated-converters(S-1-Cs).This article presents a mathematical analysis and also explains the conditions for the existent of cross-coupling *** experimental results also validate with the mathematically analysed *** article also discusses the modeling of the two-diode model of PV module,design of boost type S-1C,and the Perturb and Observe(P&O)MPPT algorithm implementation.

Effectiveness of microwave sintering process through investigation of microstructural characteristics and electrical properties of x(0.94PbZn_ 1/3Nb_ 2/3O_3 + 0.06baTiO_3)+(1-x)PbZr_yTi_ 1-yO_3(PbZNZT)ceramics with x=0.6 and y=0.52 was *** relative density of 95% was achieved with sintering at 800℃ for 2 *** small grain growth exponents indicate how easy the grain growth in these materials sintered using microwave *** growth rate increases abruptly and is higher than that of conventional sintering at a temperature higher than 1050℃.This is attributed to the lower activation energy and higher grain boundary *** activation energy required for the grain growth is found to be 132kJ/*** remanent polarization(Pr=50.1μC/cm2)and increase in remanent polarization with sintering temperature are observed in microwave sintering process when compared to that of conventional sintering process,due to fast increase in grain growth rate and homogeneity in the *** results indicate lower sintering energy and reduction of PbO pollution in the working environment by microwave sintering process.

Smart,low-cost and portable gas sensors are highly desired due to the importance of air quality monitoring for environmental and defense-related ***,electrochemical and nondispersive infrared(IR)gas sensors are designed to detect a single specific *** IR spectroscopy-based sensors provide superior performance,their deployment is limited due to their large size and high *** this study,a smart,low-cost,multigas sensing system is demonstrated consisting of a mid-infrared microspectrometer and a machine learning *** microspectrometer is a metasurface filter array integrated with a commercial IR camera that is consumable-free,compact(~1 cm^(3))and lightweight(~1 g).The machine learning algorithm is trained to analyze the data from the microspectrometer and predict the gases *** system detects the greenhouse gases carbon dioxide and methane at concentrations ranging from 10 to 100%with 100%*** also detects hazardous gases at low concentrations with an accuracy of 98.4%.Ammonia can be detected at a concentration of 100 ***,methyl-ethyl-ketone can be detected at its permissible exposure limit(200 ppm);this concentration is considered low and *** study demonstrates the viability of using machine learning with IR spectroscopy to provide a smart and low-cost multigas sensing platform.

Mobile ad hoc network(MANET)consists of a group of self-operated mobile nodes that form a network without considering predefined *** the network,each node poses less energy due to battery-operated sensor *** methods are devised for routing,but each method suffered from the energy *** paper proposes an energy-efficient multipath routing protocol for exploiting different routes between source and destination to mitigate energy *** key idea is to determine the optimal path from a set of paths available between the source and the target *** improve the security in routing protocol,the factors,like energy,trust,and mobility are considered as major ***,the trust is modeled by considering trust factors,like average encounter rate(AER),successful cooperation frequency(SCF),direct trust,integrity factor,and forwarding rate ***,secure routing is performed between the nodes using the proposed Adaptive-Atom Whale Optimization algorithm(AdaptiveAWOA).The proposed (Adaptive-AWOA)is designed by incorporating the Adaptive concept in the Atom Whale Optimization algorithm(AWOA).The fitness function is newly modeled considering mobility,energy,and trust *** proposed AdaptiveAWOA outperformed the other methods with a minimal end-to-end delay of 0.009,maximal throughput of 85.802%and maximal packet delivery ratio(PDR)of 97.391%,respectively.

The present study aims to obtain p-y curves(Winkler spring properties for lateral pile-soil interaction)for liquefied soil from 12 comprehensive centrifuge test cases where pile groups were embedded in liquefiable *** p-y curve for fully liquefied soil is back-calculated from the dynamic centrifuge test data using a numerical procedure from the recorded soil response and strain records from the instrumented *** p-y curves were obtained for two ground conditions:(a)lateral spreading of liquefied soil,and(b)liquefied soil in level *** ground conditions are simulated in the model by having collapsing and non-collapsing intermittent boundaries,which are modelled as quay *** p-y curves back-calculated from the centrifuge tests are compared with representative reduced API p-y curves for liquefied soils(known as p-multiplier).The response of p-y curves at full liquefaction is presented and critical observations of lateral pile-soil interaction are *** on the results of these model tests,guidance for the construction of p-y curves for use in engineering practice is also provided.
