ThyroidNet:A Deep Learning Network for Localization and Classification of Thyroid Nodules

Aim:This study aims to establish an artificial intelligence model,ThyroidNet,to diagnose thyroid nodules using deep learning techniques ***:A novel method,ThyroidNet,is introduced and evaluated based on deep learning for the localization and classification of thyroid ***,we propose the multitask TransUnet,which combines the TransUnet encoder and decoder with multitask ***,we propose the DualLoss function,tailored to the thyroid nodule localization and classification *** balances the learning of the localization and classification tasks to help improve the model’s generalization ***,we introduce strategies for augmenting the ***,we submit a novel deep learning model,ThyroidNet,to accurately detect thyroid ***:ThyroidNet was evaluated on private datasets and was comparable to other existing methods,including U-Net and *** results show that ThyroidNet outperformed these methods in localizing and classifying thyroid *** achieved improved accuracy of 3.9%and 1.5%,***:ThyroidNet significantly improves the clinical diagnosis of thyroid nodules and supports medical image analysis *** research directions include optimization of the model structure,expansion of the dataset size,reduction of computational complexity and memory requirements,and exploration of additional applications of ThyroidNet in medical image analysis.

An integrated north–south paleo-Dadu-Anning River: New insights from bulk major and trace element analyses of the Xigeda Formation

The Xianshuihe-Anninghe fault extends sE–s and constitutes the southeastern margin of the Tibetan ***,the Dadu River which is associated with the fault does not flow following the path,but makes a 90ºturn within a distance of 1 km at shimian,heading east,and joins the Yangtze River,finally flowing into the East China *** to the abrupt turn,a low and wide pass near the Daqiao reservoir at Mianning separates the N–s course of the Dadu River from the headwater of the Anning River which then flows south into the Yunnan Province along the Anninghe ***,many previous studies assumed southward flow of the paleo-Dadu River from the shimian to the Anning ***,evidences for the capture of the integrated N–s paleo-Dadu-Anning River,its timing,and causes are still *** study explored the paleo-drainage pattern of the Dadu and Anning Rivers based on bulk mineral and geochemical analyses of the large quantities of fluvial/lacustrine sediments along the trunk of the Dadu and Anning *** with sands in the modern Dadu River,the Xigeda sediments also exhibit a granitoid affinity with the bulk major mineral compositions of quartz(>50%),anorthite(about 10%),orthoclase(about 5%),muscovite(about 5%),and clinochlore(about 4%).Correspondingly,bulk major elements show high siO_(2),with all samples>60%,and some of them>70%,low TiO_(2)(≤0.75%),P_(2)O_(5)(≤0.55%),FeO*(≤5%),and relatively high CaO(1.02%–8.51%),Na_(2)O(1.60%–2.52%),and K_(2)O(2.17%–2.71%),with a uniform REE ***,synthesizing all these results indicate that these lacustrine sediments have similar material sources,which are mainly derived from its course in the songpan-Ganzi flysch block,implying that the paleo-Dadu originally flowed southward into the Anning River and provided materials to the Xigeda ancient *** rearrangement of the paleo-Dadu River appears to be closely related to the locally focused uplift driven by strong activities of the Xians

background The energy/protein imbalance in a low-protein diet induces lipid metabolism disorders in late-phase laying *** energy levels in the low-protein diet to adjust the energy-to-protein ratio may improve fat deposition,but this also decreases the laying performance of *** study investigated the mechanism by which different energy levels in the low-protein diet influences liver lipid metabolism in late-phase laying hens through the enterohepatic axis to guide feed optimization and nutrition strategies.A total of 288 laying hens were randomly allocated to the normal-energy and normal-protein diet group(positive control:CK)or 1 of 3 groups:lowenergy and low-protein diet(LL),normal-energy and low-protein diet(NL),and high-energy and low-protein diet(HL)*** energy-to-protein ratios of the CK,LL,NL,and HL diets were 0.67,0.74,0.77,and 0.80,*** Compared with the CK group,egg quality deteriorated with increasing energy intake in late-phase laying hens fed low-protein *** fed LL,NL,and HL diets had significantly higher triglyceride,total cholesterol,acetylCo A carboxylase,and fatty acid synthase levels,but significantly lower hepatic lipase levels compared with the CK *** transcriptome sequencing revealed that genes involved in fatty acid beta-oxidation(ACOX1,HADHA,EHHADH,and ACAA1)were downregulated,whereas genes related to fatty acid synthesis(sCD,FAsN,and ACACA)were upregulated in LL group compared with the CK *** of the cecal microbiome showed that in hens fed an LL diet,Lactobacillus and Desulfovibrio were enriched,whereas riboflavin metabolism was *** metabolites that were most significantly affected by the LL diet included several vitamins,such as riboflavin(vitamin b2),pantethine(vitamin b5 derivative),pyridoxine(vitamin b6),and 4-pyridoxic *** A lipid metabolism disorder due to deficiencies of vitamin b2 and pantethine originating from the metabolism of the cecal microb

Evaluation and application of a Chinese version symptom questionnaire for visual dysfunctions(CsQVD)in school-age children

Hydrogel-based triboelectric nanoge nerator(TENG)has a promising applied prospect in wearable electronic ***,its low performance,poor stability,insufficient recyclability and inferior self-healing seriously hinder its ***,we report a robust route to a liquid metal(LM)/polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)hydrogel-based TENG(LP-TENG).Owing to the intrinsically liquid feature of conductive LM within the flexible PVA hydrogel,the as-prepared LP-TENG exhibited comprehensiye advantages of adaptability,biocompatibility,outstanding electrical performance,superior stability,recyclability and diverse applications,which were unattainable by traditional ***,the LP-TENG delivered appealing open circuit voltage of 250 V,short circuit current of 4μA and transferred charge of 120 nC with high stability,outperforming most advanced TENG *** LP-TENG was successfully employed for versatile applications with multifunctionality,including human motion detection,handwriting recognition,energy collection,message transmission and human-machine *** work presents significant prospects for crafting advanced materials and devices in the fields of wearable electronics,flexible skin and smart robots.

The association and underlying mechanism of the digit ratio(2D:4D)in hypospadias

The second-to-fourth digit(2D:4D)ratio is thought to be associated with prenatal androgen ***,the relationship between the 2D:4D ratio and hypospadias is poorly understood,and its molecular mechanism is not *** this study,by analyzing the hand digit length of 142 boys with hypospadias(23 distal,68 middle,and 51 proximal)and 196 controls enrolled in shanghai Children’s Hospital(shanghai,China)from December 2020 to December 2021,we found that the 2D:4D ratio was significantly increased in boys with hypospadias(Ps positively correlated with the severity of the *** was further verified by the comparison of control mice and prenatal low testosterone mice model obtained by knocking out the risk gene(dynein axonemal heavy chain 8[DNAH8])associated with ***,the discrepancy was mainly caused by a shift in *** characterization of a mouse model validated that low testosterone levels during pregnancy can impair the growth and development of *** mechanistic explorations revealed that during the androgen-sensitive window,the downregulation of the androgen receptor(AR)caused by low testosterone levels,as well as the suppressed expression of chondrocyte proliferation-related genes such as Wnt family member 5a(Wnt5a),Wnt5b,smad family member 2(smad2),and smad3;mitochondrial function-related genes in cartilage such as AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)and nuclear respiratory factor 1(Nrf-1);and vascular development-related genes such as myosin light chain(MLC),notch receptor 3(Notch3),and sphingosine kinase 1(sphk1),are responsible for the limitation of 4D growth,which results in a higher 2D:4D ratio in boys with hypospadias via decreased endochondral *** study indicates that the ratio of 2D:4D is a risk marker of hypospadias and provides a potential molecular mechanism.
