Restenosis is a common complication following coronary *** traditional use of seaweeds for health benefits has increasingly been explored,however few studies exist reporting its protective effects on the development of restenosis and gut *** aim of this study was to investigate the potential of seaweed extracts(sE) of Ascophyllum nodosum and Fucus vesiculosus in inhibiting intimal hyperplasia in a rat model of restenosis and its underlying mechanisms in macrophages and vascular smooth muscle cells(vsMCs).16s rRNA sequencing was done to investigate the regulatory effect of sE on the gut microbiome of injured *** indicated by the results,sE significantly inhibited the progression of intimal hyperplasia in vivo,attenuated inflammation in macrophages and could inhibit the proliferation,dedifferentiation and migration of *** was observed through immunoblotting assays that treatment with sE significantly upregulated PTEN expression in macrophages and inhibited the upregulation of PI3K and AKT expression in ***,according to the 16s rRNA gene sequencing analysis,supplementation with sE modulated gut microbiota composition in injured *** conclusion,sE could ameliorate intimal hyperplasia by inhibiting inflammation and vsMCs proliferation through the regulation of the PTEN/PI3K/AKT pathway and modulating the gut microbiome.

Previous studies have shown that biochanin A,a flavonoid compound with estrogenic effects,can serve as a neuroprotective agent in the context of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury;howeve r,its effect on spinal cord injury is still unclea r. In this study,a rat model of spinal cord injury was established using the heavy o bject impact method,and the rats were then treated with biochanin A(40 mg/kg) via intrape ritoneal injection for 14 consecutive *** res ults showed that biochanin A effectively alleviated spinal cord neuronal injury and spinal co rd tissue injury,reduced inflammation and oxidative stress in spinal cord neuro ns,and reduced apoptosis and *** addition,biochanin A inhibited the expression of inflammasome-related proteins(AsC,NLRP3,and GsDMD)and the Toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor-κb pathway,activated the Nrf2/heme oxygenase 1 signaling pathway,and increased the expression of the autophagy markers LC3 Ⅱ,beclin-1,and *** r,the therapeutic effects of biochanin A on early post-s pinal cord injury were similar to those of *** findings suggest that biochanin A protected neurons in the injured spinal cord through the Toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor κb and Nrf2/heme oxygenase 1 signaling *** findings suggest that biochanin A can alleviate post-spinal cord injury at an early stage.

Immune-mediated liver injury (ILI) is a condition where an aberrant immune response due to various triggers causes the destruction of hepatocytes. Fibroblast growth factor 4 (FGF4) was recently identified as a hepatoprotective cytokine;however, its role in ILI remains unclear. In patients with autoimmune hepatitis (type of ILI) and mouse models of concanavalin A (ConA)- or s-100-induced ILI, we observed a biphasic pattern in hepatic FGF4 expression, characterized by an initial increase followed by a return to basal levels. Hepatic FGF4 deficiency activated the mitochondria-associated intrinsic apoptotic pathway, aggravating hepatocellular apoptosis. This led to intrahepatic immune hyper-reactivity, inflammation accentuation, and subsequent liver injury in both ILI models. Conversely, administration of recombinant FGF4 reduced hepatocellular apoptosis and rectified immune imbalance, thereby mitigating liver damage. The beneficial effects of FGF4 were mediated by hepatocellular FGF receptor 4, which activated the Ca^(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinasekinase 2 (CaMKKβ) and its downstream phosphatase and tensin homologue-induced putative kinase 1 (PINK1)-dependent b-cell lymphoma 2-like protein 1-isoform L (bcl-XL) signalling axis in the mitochondria. Hence, FGF4 serves as an early response factor and plays a protective role against ILI, suggesting a therapeutic potential of FGF4 and its analogue for treating clinical immune disorder-related liver injuries.

Orbital pacing and secular evolution of lake-level changes reconstructed by sedimentary noise modeling during the Early Jurassic icehouses-(super)greenhouses

Lake-level changes can significantly affect paleoenvironmental evolution,resource occurrence,terrestrial carbon budget,and biodiversity in continental *** is one of the most critical factors controlling lake-level *** of the Early Jurassic has been evidenced by oscillating icehouses to(super)greenhouses with interrupted intermittent extreme climatic events(hyperthermal and cooling),e.g.,the Toarcian oceanic anoxic event(~183 Ma)and the late Pliensbachian cooling event(~185 Ma).Lake-level evolution and hydrologic cycling on Earth’s surface during the Early Jurassic icehouses-to-(super)greenhouses are thus far poorly understood due to a lack of continuous high-resolution nonmarine *** we present a super-long nonmarine lake level record for this pivotal interval from the early Pliensbachian to Toarcian by sedimentary noise modeling,and construct a 16.7-Myr-long astronomical time scale(174.2 Ma to 190.9 Ma)based on cyclostratigraphy analysis of rock color datasets(CIE b*)of the Qaidam *** results document lake-level oscillations on a 5-to 10-million-year(Myr)scale which shows a pronounced correlation with long-term climate variation and extreme climatic events,and 1-to 2.5-Myr-scale lake-level changes that are prominently paced by the 2.4-Myr long-eccentricity forcing and the 1.2-Myr obliquity *** the Pliensbachian stage,the 1.2-Myr-scale lake-level changes are in phase with the coeval sealevel *** forced growth and decay of the ephemeral or permanent ice sheets in polar regions are interpreted to control the synchronous ups-and-downs of continental lake level and global sea ***,during the Toarcian ice-free greenhouses to(super)greenhouses,the 1.2-Myr-scale lake-level variations show an anti-phase relationship with global sea level,indicating a‘seesaw’interaction between continental reservoirs(lakes and groundwater)and global *** 2.4-Myr longeccentricity cycles mainly regulate variation

In the face of the elevated incidence and mortality rate of septic shock in the ICU,this retrospective study seeks to investigate the indicative and predictive value of high-mobility group box 1(HMGb1)and miR-146b in patients with septic *** RTPCR was employed in this study to quantify the HMGb1 and miR-146b levels in plasma samples obtained from the patient group and healthy *** investigation involved the comparison between the two groups and tracking changes in the patient group over *** finding revealed that upon admission,the patient group exhibited markedly elevated relative expression levels of HMGb1,which subsequently decreased over ***,the patient group displayed significantly reduced relative expression levels of miR-146b upon admission,which subsequently increased over time compared to the control *** operating characteristic(ROC)curves showed good predictive value for HMGb1 and *** experimental results suggest that HMGb1 and miR-146b serve as valuable and convenient biomarkers for evaluating the severity of septic shock and predicting ***,it is proposed that serum miR-146b may be inducible and potentially exerts a negative regulatory effect on the expression of HMGb1.

High Li^(+)transference number electrolytes have long been understood to provide attractive candidates for realizing uniform deposition of Li^(+).However,such electrolytes with immobilized anions would result in incomplete solid electrolyte interphase(sEI)formation on the Li anode because it suffers from the absence of appropriate inorganic components entirely derived from anions ***,a boron-rich hexagonal polymer structured all-solid-state polymer electrolyte(bsPE+10%LibOb)with regulated intermolecular interaction is proposed to trade off a high Li^(+)transference number against stable sEI *** Li^(+)transference number of the as-prepared electrolyte is increased from 0.23 to 0.83 owing to the boron-rich cross-linker(bC)*** intriguingly,for the first time,the experiments combined with theoretical calculation results reveal that bOb^(-)anions have stronger interaction with b atoms in polymer chain than TFsI^(-),which significantly induce the TFsI^(-)decomposition and consequently increase the amount of LiF and Li3N in the sEI ***,a LiFePO_(4)|bsPE+10%LibOblLi cell retains 96.7%after 400 cycles while the cell without bC-resisted electrolyte only retains 40.8%.bsPE+10%LibOb also facilitates stable electrochemical cycling of solid-state Li-s *** study blazes a new trail in controlling the Li^(+)transport ability and sEI properties,synergistically.

Despite the great potential of anti-PD-L1 antibodies for immunotherapy,their low response rate due to an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment has hampered their *** address this issue,we constructed a cell membrane-coated nanosystem(mb4s)to reverse an immunosuppressive microenvironment to an immuno-supportive one for strengthening the anti-tumor *** this system,Epirubicin(EPI)as an immunogenic cell death(ICD)inducer was coupled to a branched glycopolymer via hydrazone bonds and diAbZI as a stimulator of interferon genes(sTING)agonist was encapsulated into *** internalization of mb4s,EPI was acidic-responsively released to induce ICD,which was characterized by an increased level of calreticulin(CRT)exposure and enhanced ATP ***,diAbZI effectively activated the sTING *** with mb4s in combination with an anti-PD-L1 antibody elicited potent immune responses by increasing the ratio of matured dendritic cells(DCs)and CD8+T cells,promoting cytokines secretion,up-regulating M1-like tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)and down-regulating immunosuppressive myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDsCs).Therefore,this nanosystem for co-delivery of an ICD inducer and a sTING agonist achieved promotion of DCs maturation and CD8+T cells infiltration,creating an immuno-supportive microenvironment,thus potentiating the therapy effect of the anti-PD-L1 antibody in both 4T1 breast and CT26 colon tumor mice.

Tobacco is an important economic crop *** leaves contain a large number of natural ***,the analysis of tobacco composition is crucial for the control of tobacco safety and quality *** plasma torch desorption ionization mass spectrometry(MPT-Ms) is an emerging ambient mass spectrometry(AMs) technique that can be used for rapid real-time analysis of s amples without *** work focuses on the chemical composition analysis of tobacco using MPT-Ms,and 14 compounds were detected in green flue-cured tobacco leaves,while 30 compounds were detected in cured flue-cured tobacco leaves,which confirms that curing can enhance the flavor of ***,we successfully in situ identified characteristic fragment ions of α/β-CbD(α/β-cembranoids),an important aroma compound in tobacco by *** results demonstrate the capability of MPT-Ms for in situ analysis of tobacco components and its potential for evaluating tobacco quality.
