Multivariate statistical and bioinformatic analyses for the seasonal variations of actinobacterial community structures in a drinking water reservoir

Actinobacterial community is a conspicuous part of aquatic ecosystems and displays an important role in the case of biogeochemical cycle,but little is known about the seasonal variation of actinobacterial community in reservoir ecological *** this study,the high-throughput techniques were used to investigate the structure of the aquatic actinobacterial community and its inducing water quality parameters in different *** results showed that the highest diversity and abundance of actinobacterial community occurred in winter,with sporichthya(45.42%)being the most abundant genus and Rhodococcus sp.(29.32%)being the most abundant *** analysis and correlation analysis suggested that in autumn the dynamics of actinobacterial community were infuenced by more factors and Nocardioides ***2R5s2 was the potential keystone species which was negatively correlated with temperature(R=-0.72,Ps in environmental factors could significantly affect the changes in actinobacterial community,and the dynamics of temperature,dissolved oxygen(DO),and turbidity are potential conspicuous factors infuencing seasonal actinobacterial community *** partial least squares path modeling further elucidated that the combined effects of DO and temperature not only in the diversity of actinobacterial community but also in other water qualities,while the physiochemical parameters(path coefficient=1.571,Ps strong environmental factors in natural mixture *** results strengthen our understanding of the dynamics and structures of actinobacterial community in the drinking water reservoirs and provide scientific guidance for further water quality management and protection in water sources.

Rethinking the Encoder-decoder structure in Medical Image segmentation from Releasing Decoder structure

Medical image segmentation has witnessed rapid advancements with the emergence of encoder-decoder based *** the encoder-decoder structure,the primary goal of the decoding phase is not only to restore feature map resolution,but also to mitigate the loss of feature information incurred during the encoding ***,this approach gives rise to a challenge:multiple up-sampling operations in the decoder segment result in the loss of feature *** address this challenge,we propose a novel network that removes the decoding structure to reduce feature information loss(CbL-Net).In particular,we introduce a Parallel Pooling Module(PPM)to counteract the feature information loss stemming from conventional and pooling operations during the encoding ***,we incorporate a Multiplexed Dilation Convolution(MDC)module to expand the network's receptive ***,although we have removed the decoding stage,we still need to recover the feature map ***,we introduced the Global Feature Recovery(GFR)*** uses attention mechanism for the image feature map resolution recovery,which can effectively reduce the loss of feature *** conduct extensive experimental evaluations on three publicly available medical image segmentation datasets:DRIVE,CHAsEDb and MoNuseg *** results show that our proposed network outperforms state-of-the-art methods in medical image *** addition,it achieves higher efficiency than the current network of coding and decoding structures by eliminating the decoding component.

Toughening additive manufactured Zr-based bulk metallic glass composites by martensite phase transformation

Additive manufacturing technology based on laser powder bed fusion(LPbF)offers a novel approach for fabricating bulk metallic glass(bMG)products without restriction in size and ***,the bMGs prepared by LPbF usually suffered from less plasticity and poorer fracture toughness as compared to their cast counterparts due to partial crystallization in heat-affected zones(HAZs).since crystallization in HAZs is hard to avoid completely in LPbF bMGs,it is desirable to design a suitable alloy system,in which only ductile crystalline phase,instead of brittle intermetallics,is formed in *** unique structure could effectively increase the toughness/plasticity of the LPbF *** achieve this goal,a quaternary bMG system with a composition of Zr_(47.5)Cu_(45.5)Al_(5)Co_(2)is adopted and subjected to *** is found that nearly a single phase of b_(2)-ZrCu is precipitated in HAZs,while a fully amorphous phase is formed in molten pools(MPs).This b_(2)phase reinforced bMG composite exhibits excellent mechanical properties with enhanced plasticity and ***,it is easy to modulate the mechanical properties by altering the amount of the b_(2)phase via adjusting the laser energy ***,the best combination of strength,plasticity,and notch toughness is obtained in the bMG composite containing 27.4%b_(2)phase and 72.6%amorphous phase,which exhibits yield strength(σ_(s))of 1423 MPa,plastic strain(ε_(p))of 4.65%,and notch toughness(K_(q))of 53.9 MPa m 1/***,a notable strain-hardening is also *** improvement of plasticity/toughness and appearance of strain-hardening behavior are mainly due to the martensite phase transformation from the b_(2)phase to the Cm phase during plastic deformation(i.e.,the phase transformation-induced plasticity effect).The current work provides a guide for making advanced bMGs and bMG composites by additive manufacturing.

Influence of Micro/Nano-Ti Particles on the Corrosion behavior of AZ31-Ti Composites

Adding Ti particles to magnesium alloy simultaneously enhances its strength and ***,how these particles influence on Mg alloy’s corrosion performance is seldom *** corrosion behavior of AZ31-Ti composites containing titanium nanoparticles(1.5 and 5 wt%)and micron particles(10 wt%)prepared by powder metallurgical in 3.5 wt%NaCl solution was *** results indicate that Ti particles serve as the primary location for the cathodic hydrogen reduction reaction,resulting in intense galvanic corrosion between the Ti and Mg *** nanoparticles distributed at the interface of the original AZ31 powder were in a discontinuous mesh structure,thus failing to act as a barrier against *** corrosion products with the existence of numerous cracks gradually peel off during the corrosion process and cannot protect the *** average corrosion rate P_(w) of AZ31,AZ31-1.5%Ti,AZ31-5%Ti,and AZ31-10%Ti after 7 days of immersion is 27.55,105.65,283.67,and 99.35 mm/y,***,AZ31-Ti composites can be considered as potential candidates for degradable fracturing ***,it is recommended to improve their corrosion resistance through surface treatment.

Neurodegenerative diseases(NDs)are a group of debilitating neurological disorders that primarily affect elderly populations and include Alzheimer's disease(AD),Parkinson's disease(PD),Huntington's disease(HD),and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALs).Currently,there are no therapies available that can delay,stop,or reverse the pathological progression of NDs in clinical *** the population ages,NDs are imposing a huge burden on public health systems and affected *** models are important tools for preclinical investigations to understand disease pathogenesis and test potential *** numerous rodent models of NDs have been developed to enhance our understanding of disease mechanisms,the limited success of translating findings from animal models to clinical practice suggests that there is still a need to bridge this translation *** World nonhuman primates(NHPs),such as rhesus,cynomolgus,and vervet monkeys,are phylogenetically,physiologically,biochemically,and behaviorally most relevant to *** is particularly evident in the similarity of the structure and function of their central nervous systems,rendering such species uniquely valuable for neuroscience ***,the development of several genetically modified NHP models of NDs has successfully recapitulated key pathologies and revealed novel *** review focuses on the efficacy of NHPs in modeling NDs and the novel pathological insights gained,as well as the challenges associated with the generation of such models and the complexities involved in their subsequent analysis.

Restenosis is a common complication following coronary *** traditional use of seaweeds for health benefits has increasingly been explored,however few studies exist reporting its protective effects on the development of restenosis and gut *** aim of this study was to investigate the potential of seaweed extracts(sE) of Ascophyllum nodosum and Fucus vesiculosus in inhibiting intimal hyperplasia in a rat model of restenosis and its underlying mechanisms in macrophages and vascular smooth muscle cells(vsMCs).16s rRNA sequencing was done to investigate the regulatory effect of sE on the gut microbiome of injured *** indicated by the results,sE significantly inhibited the progression of intimal hyperplasia in vivo,attenuated inflammation in macrophages and could inhibit the proliferation,dedifferentiation and migration of *** was observed through immunoblotting assays that treatment with sE significantly upregulated PTEN expression in macrophages and inhibited the upregulation of PI3K and AKT expression in ***,according to the 16s rRNA gene sequencing analysis,supplementation with sE modulated gut microbiota composition in injured *** conclusion,sE could ameliorate intimal hyperplasia by inhibiting inflammation and vsMCs proliferation through the regulation of the PTEN/PI3K/AKT pathway and modulating the gut microbiome.

biochanin A attenuates spinal cord injury in rats during early stages by inhibiting oxidative stress and inflammasome activation

Previous studies have shown that biochanin A,a flavonoid compound with estrogenic effects,can serve as a neuroprotective agent in the context of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury;howeve r,its effect on spinal cord injury is still unclea r. In this study,a rat model of spinal cord injury was established using the heavy o bject impact method,and the rats were then treated with biochanin A(40 mg/kg) via intrape ritoneal injection for 14 consecutive *** res ults showed that biochanin A effectively alleviated spinal cord neuronal injury and spinal co rd tissue injury,reduced inflammation and oxidative stress in spinal cord neuro ns,and reduced apoptosis and *** addition,biochanin A inhibited the expression of inflammasome-related proteins(AsC,NLRP3,and GsDMD)and the Toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor-κb pathway,activated the Nrf2/heme oxygenase 1 signaling pathway,and increased the expression of the autophagy markers LC3 Ⅱ,beclin-1,and *** r,the therapeutic effects of biochanin A on early post-s pinal cord injury were similar to those of *** findings suggest that biochanin A protected neurons in the injured spinal cord through the Toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor κb and Nrf2/heme oxygenase 1 signaling *** findings suggest that biochanin A can alleviate post-spinal cord injury at an early stage.
