AIM： Passive immunotherapy using antibody against hepatitis b surface antigen （HbsAg） has been advocated in certain cases of Hepatitis b infection. We had earlier reported on the cloning and expression of a high affinity scFv derived from a mouse monoclonal （5s） against HbsAg. However this mouse antibody cannot be used for therapeutic purposes as it may elicit anti-mouse immune responses. Chimerization by replacing mouse constant domains with human ones can reduce the immunogenicity of this antibody.METHODs： We cloned the VH and V, genes of this mouse antibody, and fused them with CH1 domain of human IgG1 and C, domain of human kappa chain respectively. These chimeric genes were cloned into a phagemid vector. After initial screening using the phage display system, the chimeric Fab was expressed in soluble form in E. coli.REsULTs： The chimeric Fab was purified from the bacterial periplasmic extract. We characterized the chimeric Fab using several in vitro techniques and it was observed that the chimeric molecule retained the high affinity and specificity of the original mouse monoclonal. This chimeric antibody fragment was further expressed in different strains of E. coli to increase the yield.CONCLUsION： We have generated a mouse-human chimeric Fab against HbsAg without any significant loss in binding and epitope specificity. This chimeric Fab fragment can be further modified to generate a fulllength chimeric antibody for therapeutic uses.

We report the result of simultaneous multi-wavelength observations of the TeV blazar Mrk 421 during February - March 2003. We observed Mrk 421 using the Pachmarhi Array of Cerenkov Telescopes （PACT） of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research at Pachmarhi, India. Other simultaneous data were taken from the literature and public data archives. We have analyzed the high quality X-ray （2-20 keV） observations from the NAsA Rossi X-Ray Timing Explorer （RXTE）. We obtained a possible correlated variability between X-ray and J band （1.25 μ） near infrared （NIR） wavelength. This is the first case of X-ray and NIR correlated variability in Mrk 421 or any high energy peaked （HbL） blazar. The correlated variability reported here indicates a similar origin for the NIR and X-ray emissions. The emission is not affected much by the environment of the surrounding medium of the central engine of Mrk 421. The observations are consistent with the shock-in-jet model for the emissions.

This work provides a comprehensive theoretical analysis of MHD unsteady free convection viscoelastic fluid flow through a porous medium. The medium is treated as incompressible and optically transparent. The flow of the fluid is initiated by shearing action of the moving wall with time dependent suction. Radiative heat flow is considered in temperature equation. The coupled nonlinear problem has been solved asymptotically. Approximate solutions have been obtained for the mean velocity, mean temperature using multi parameter perturbation technique. The originality of the present study is to investigate the effect of viscoelastic property of the fluid（Walters b？ model） on the flow and heat transfer phenomena when the flow is permeated through a porous medium with uniform porous matrix subject to transverse magnetic field and time dependent fluctuative suction at the boundary surface. The case of viscous flow has been discussed as a particular case on comparison with the result reported earlier and it is in good agreement. Flow reversal is indicated incase of viscoelastic fluid with high heat capacity in the presence of magnetic field. The higher cooling of the plate in case of viscoelastic flow also causes a flow reversal.

We discuss current attempts to employ the modified potential cluster model to describe the available experimental data on the^(13)b(n,γ0+1)^(14)b total *** estimated results of the M1 and E1 transitions from the n^(13)b scattering states to the ground and first excited states of^(14)b are *** 1st resonance at Ex=1.275 MeV(1+)is revealed in both the cross-section and reaction *** the variation in the asymptotic constant,a thermal cross-section interval of 5.1-8.9 mb is *** on the theoretical total cross-sections at energies of 0.01 eV to 5 MeV,we calculate the reaction rate in the temperature range of 0.01 to *** ignition T9 values of the^(13)b(n,γ0+1)^(14)b reaction depending on a neutron number density n_(n)of~10^(22)cm^(−3)are *** radiative neutron capture reaction rates on the boron^(10-13)b and carbon^(12-14)Сisotopes are compared.

A mathematical theory of time-dependent dislocation mechanics of unrestricted geometric and material nonlinearity is reviewed. Within a "small deformation" setting, a suite of simplified and interesting models consisting of a nonlocal Ginzburg Landau equation, a nonlocal level set equation, and a nonlocal generalized burgers equation is *** the finite deformation setting, it is shown that an additive decomposition of the total velocity gradient into elastic and plastic parts emerges naturally from a micromechanical starting point that involves no notion of plastic deformation but only the elastic distortion,material velocity, dislocation density and the dislocation velocity. Moreover, a plastic spin tensor emerges naturally as well.

The effect of non-linear convection in a laminar three-dimensional Oldroyd-b fluid flow is addressed. The heat transfer phenomenon is explored by considering the non-linear thermal radiation and heat generation/absorption. The boundary layer as- sumptions are taken into account to govern the mathematical model of the flow analy- sis. some suitable similarity variables are introduced to transform the partial differen- tial equations into ordinary differential systems. fifth-order techniques with the shooting method The Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg fourth- and are used to obtain the solutions of the dimensionless velocities and temperature. The effects of various physical parameters on the fluid velocities and temperature are plotted and examined. A comparison with the exact and homotopy perturbation solutions is made for the viscous fluid case, and an excellent match is noted. The numerical values of the wall shear stresses and the heat transfer rate at the wall are tabulated and investigated. The enhancement in the values of the Deborah number shows a reverse behavior on the liquid velocities. The results show that the temperature and the thermal boundary layer are reduced when the non- linear convection parameter increases. The values of the Nusselt number are higher in the non-linear radiation situation than those in the linear radiation situation.

The preparation and some mechanical, thermal and magnetic properties of the as cast bulk composite ***4 （M=Nb, Mo） alloys obtained by suction casting are presented and discussed. The microstructrural results showed the existence of a crystalline a-Fe（si） phase embedded in a glassy matrix. The values of microhardness （/Iv） and yield strength （ay） for the Nb-containing alloy are exceptionally high, i.e. （12.65~0.3） GPa and （4.22~0.10） GPa, respectively. The saturation polarization values are found to be as high as 1.24 T for both composite ~11oys. It is thought that the interplay between the secondary crystalline phases and amorphous matrix could be responsible for the mechanical and magnetic behaviour of these alloys.

In order to improve and stabilize the magnetic properties of nanocomposite Nd2Fe14b/α-Fe magnetic alloys by a compositional adjustment, small amount of Dy and/or Co was added to Nd9Fe84b7 alloys. DTA analysis on the amorphous of the alloys took place as the soft magnetic phases were crystallized, and then the hard magnetic Nd2Fe14b was precipitated from them. While α-Fe and a metastable 1:7 (TbCu7-type) phase were formed simultaneously in Dy and Co-free alloys, they were crystallized separately at different temperatures after Dy or Co was added. This phase separation occurred more clearly in the Dy-treated alloys and the other soft magnetic phase Fe3b was also stabilized by Dy and/or Co. The 1: 7 phase that was stabilized by Dy and/or Co was not eliminated at 700 ℃, decreasing magnetic properties of the alloys. It was eventually disappeared above 725 ℃, but Fe3b was not eliminated even at 750 ℃ when Dy was added more than 0.5 at% or Co was added more than 2.0 at%. Amount of Nd2Fe14b in the alloys tended to increase as Dy addition increased,whereas Co addition did not lead to any appreciable change in the ratio of α-Fe and Nd2Fe14b. Moreover, Dy addition apparently increased coercivity of an alloy while Co addition had a beneficial effect on remanence. The grains in the Dytreated alloys were usually finer than those in the Co-treated alloys. The grain size of both α-Fe and Nd2Fe14b in the alloys exhibiting mr ≥ 0.72 was in the range of 20 ～ 40 nm or even larger 50 nm, which is larger than the theoretical optimum size ( ～ 10 nm). Typical magnetic properties obtained from a Nd7.5Dy1.5Fe82.5Co1.5b7 alloy annealed for 12 min at 725 ℃were iHc=4.85 kOe, br= 11.32 kG, (bH)max = 15.73 MGOe, and mr=0.73.
