Effective fishways rely on attracting fish,utilising the natural rheotactic behaviour of fish to orient into an attraction flow near the *** the critical importance of attraction,understanding of the hydrodynamics of vertical slot entrances in relation to fish behaviour remains ***,hydrodynamic measurements of flows at slotted fishway entrances were experimented with two different designs,two velocities,three water depths,and two fish species,silver perch(bidyanus bidyanus)and Australian bass(Percalates novemaculeata).Fish behaviours were tracked in relation to hydrodynamic measures of three-dimensional velocity and turbulent kinetic energy(tKE).there were distinct differences in the attraction flow between entrance designs,irrespective of velocity and water depth.A plain slotted entrance produced a more symmetric flow in the centre of the flume,causing fish to approach the entrance by skirting the core of the attraction jet flow and areas of high *** contrast,streamlined slotted entrance design resulted in an asymmetric attraction flow which guided fish along the wingwall towards the slotted entrance,improving attraction for both *** were clear patterns in swimming trajectories for silver perch,swimming along the sidewalls of the observation zone towards the entrance,but Australian bass were less predictable,using random routes on their way to the slotted *** species preferred areas of low turbulence(tKEs^(2)).this work has important implications for design of vertical slotted entrance systems.

Isothermal decomposition process of chemically transforming indium tin oxide（ItO） powders into indium（III） hydroxide powders was investigated. two types of powders were analyzed, i.e., non-activated and mechanically activated. It has been found that in the case of activated sample, shorter induction periods appear, which permits growth of smaller crystals, while in the case of non-activated sample, long induction periods appear, characterized by the growth of larger crystals. DAEM approach has shown that decomposition processes of non-activated and mechanically activated samples can be described by contracting volume model with a linear combination of two different density distribution functions of apparent activation energies（Ea）, and with first-order model, with a single symmetrical density distribution function of Ea, respectively. It was established that specific characteristics of particles not only affect the mechanism of decomposition processes, but also have the significant impact on thermodynamic properties.

the effects of fibre/matrix bonding, fabric density, fibre volume fraction and bundle size on microstructure, mechanical properties and failure mechanisms in carbon fibre reinforced composites （plastic and carbon matrix） have been investigated. the microstructure of unloaded and cracked samples was studied by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy （sEM）, respectively whereas the mechanical behaviour was examined by 3- point bending experiments. Exclusively one type of experimental resole type phenolic resin was applied. A strong fibre/matrix bonding, which is needed for high strength of carbon fibre reinforced plastic （CFRP） materials leads to severe composite damages during the pyrolysis resulting in low strength, brittle failure and a very low utilisation of the fibres strain to failure in C/C composites. Inherent fabric parameters such as an increasing fabric density or bundle size or a reduced fibre volume fraction introduce inhomogenities to the CFRP＇s microstructure. Results are lower strength and stiffness whereas the strain to failure increases or remains unchanged. toughness is almost not affected. In C/C composites inhomogenities due to a reduced bundle size reduce strain to failure, strength, stiffness and toughness. Vice versa a declining fibre volume fraction leads to exactly the opposite behaviour. Increasing the fabric density （weight per unit area） causes similar effects as in CFRPs.

the effect of temperature variation owing to the cooling pattern （CP） on the microstructural evolution was investigated by establishing a thermomechanical coupled FE （finite element） model. A set of constitutive equations of phase transformation was implanted into the commercial FE solver MARC through the user defined subroutine CR- PLAW, and the temperature field was calculated by another user defined subroutine FILM. the results show that the final mierostructure is completely bainite phase for CP one, 98% of bainite phase and 2% of ferrite phase for CP two, and 55% of bainite phase, 35% of pearlite phase and 10% of ferrite phase for CP three.

In this paper, we introduce a general framework for tracking in leader-follower systems under communication constraints, in which the leader and follower systems as well as the corresponding controllers are spatially distributed and connected over communication links. We provide necessary conditions on the channel data rate of each communication link for tracking of the leader-follower systems. by considering the forward and feedback channels as one cascade channel, we also provide a lower bound for the data rate of the cascade channel for the system to track a reference signal such that the tracking error has finite second moment. Examples and simulations are provided to demonstrate some of the results.

We propose a scheme to partially teleport an unknown entangled atomic state. A high-Q cavity, supporting one mode of a weak coherent state, is needed to accomplish this process. by partial teleportation we mean that teleportation will occur by changing one of the partners of the entangled state to be teleported. the entangled state to be teleported is composed by one pair of particles, we called this surprising characteristic of maintaining the entanglement, even when one of the particle of the entangled pair being teleported is changed, of divorce of entangled states.

this study investigates the biofilm formation, presence and distribution of virulence genes and the capacity to induce an inflammatory response in strains of staphylococcus aureus isolated from milk samples in bahia, brazil. A total of 132 samples of raw milk were collected from four dairy farms (designated A to D) located in southwestern bahia, in the municipality of Vitória da Conquista, from October/2009 to september/2010. After processing of the samples, 94 (71.2%) s. aureus isolates were obtained. these strains were subjected to the antibiogram method MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration). As for the pathogenicity, tests were performedin vitrobiofilm formation induced by glucose. Moreover, we performed PCR for their virulence genes: sea (enterotoxin A), seb (b), sec (C), pvl (Panton-Valentine Leukocidin), clfA (Clumping Factor A) and spa (protein A) and analysis of cytokine induction in the inflammatory response of J774 macrophages by exocellular lipoteichoic acid. No isolates were resistant to oxacillin and vancomycin. In biofilm production, 5.31% (5/94) isolates did not produce biofilm, 5.31% (5/94) of the samples were poor producers, 15.96% (15/94) strains were moderate producers, 18.09% (17/94) were producers and 55.32% (55/94) of isolates were strong biofilm producers. One (1.06%) isolate expressed the seb gene, one (1.06%) sec, 18 (19.2%) cflA and 44 (46.8%) had spa. there was no expression of sea and pvl between isolates analyzed. the analysis of cytokine induction in the inflammatory response did not show statistical difference in the levels of IL-6, tNF-α and IL-10 induction. However, there was statistical difference in IL-1 induction between isolates from different farms. thus, it appears that the results obtained in this study show significant effects for the region studied, since it is an important dairy region, hence the need for further studies, with the intent of attracting funding that contributes to improving prevention and control in both dai

the effect of using different cereal brans （wheat, rice, oat and their combination） at different levels （0, 5, 10%） in different indigenous products （balushahi, Mathi, Kulcha and Paratha） on color, texture and sensory quality was studied. the addition of cereal bran decreased the ＂L＂ values and increased the ＂a＂ value of all the developed indigenous products. supplementation of different cereal bran had significant effect on texture of the developed indigenous products. Overall hardness of the products decreased with addition of cereal brans. Among various cereal bran levels used, 10% supplementation showed maximum hardness in all types of products. Cereal bran supplementation significantly improved the protein and fibre content of all indigenous products. On the basis of physical analysis and sensory attributes, it was concluded that cereal brans can be substituted upto 5% （rice bran and bran in combination） and 10% levels （wheat bran and oat bran） in whole wheat flour and maida for developing indigenous products without adversely affecting quality attributes.

Diversity of soil fungi in dry deciduous forest of bhadra Wildlife sanctuary,Western Ghats of southern India

Abstract： We assessed soil fungal diversity in the dry deciduous forest ofa bhadra Wildlife sanctuary of the Western Ghats （210.31 m a.s.1.; N 13044＇ and E75°37′）. soil samples were collected by random mixed sampling during winter （November, 2008）, summer （March, 2009） and monsoon （August, 2009） seasons, and physico-chemical parameters were recorded. During winter, summer, and monsoon seasons, 49, 45 and 49 of fungal species belongs to 20, 18 and 19 of genera were isolated, respectively. Isolated soil fungi were mainly of the Mitosporic fungi, followed by Zygomycotina, Ascomycotina, Oomycotina and Coelomycetes. Indices of diversity, dominance and fisher alpha during winter, summer and monsoon seasons were 3.756, 3.638 and 3.738 （H）, 0.9737, 0.9694 and 0.9726 （I-D） and 18.84, 29.83 and 19.46 （a）, respectively. spear- man＇s （r） correlation coefficient of fungal population with physicochemical parameters of soils showed significantly positive and negative correlations （p〈0.01） during winter, summer and monsoon seasons. Physico-chemical soil parameters played an important role in the occurrence, diversity, distribution, and relative abundance of fungal species in the tropical dry deciduous forest soil.
