barium based tungsten bronze （Tb） oxides having high dielectric constant and low loss, can be effectively used as transducers, actuators, capacitors and also in memory devices. All these characteristics stimulated the researchers to replace toxic and hazardous lead based materials by barium based Tb materials from industry. In the present research work, polycrystalline samples of baaSrRTi3VTO30 （R=Dy, Sm, La） were synthesized by a high temperature solid state reaction technique. preliminary structural （X-ray diffraction） analyses of these com- pounds showed the formation of single-phase orthorhombic structures at room temperature having average crystallite size of the order of some nanometer for all the compounds. The scanning electron micrographs （SEM） provided information on the quality of the samples and showed more or less homogeneous distribution of grains over the entire surface of the samples. Detailed dielectric study in a wide temperature range （30-500 ℃） showed ferro to para phase transition for Dy and Sm substituted samples whereas no such transition was observed for La substituted samples. both the grain and grain boundary resistances exhibited negative temperature coefficient of resistance behavior much like semiconductors. The dc conductivity of all the compounds obeyed Arrhenius relation.

We carried out an ethno-medico-biological investigation in the interior of bhadrak district, Odisha, India to explore the therapeutic use of traditional plants/animals by local inhabitants. The villagers and rural people used plant and animal species as medicine. We recorded therapeutic use of 18 plant species of 13 families and 12 animal species of seven taxonomic categories. Different plant/animal parts like bark, leaf, flower, seed, stem, root, whole plant, oil, blood, milk, urine and flesh were reported as used in raw or cooked form against 17 specific diseases. prominent diseases treated by plant/animal remedies were asthma, cardiovascular ailments, diabetes, epilepsy, jaundice, malaria, skin disorder and rheumatism. This study provides a better database for future studies.

An attempt has been made with overlaying of stain-less steel on mild steel by the technique of friction surfacing. This investigation elaborates the excellence acquired by different combination of the process parameters used in friction surfacing specifically traverse speed of the cross slide, speed of rotation of the spindle and the uniaxial compressive load. Excellent overlaying has been obtained amongst the chosen materials. To which, the coating can be done with various set of process parameters. It has been observed that the bond strength of the coating was found to be at a maximum of 502 Mpa by ram tensile *** upon this results the surface methodology was characterized with scanning electron *** authenticating the results, the coated specimen was subjected to salt spray test. The bonding microstructure was characterized using optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction. Corrosion resistance of surfaced coatings was found to be more inferior to that of mechtrode material and greater with the substrate.

A Novel Approach for Mitigating power Quality Issues in a pV Integrated Microgrid System Using an Improved Jelly Fish Algorithm

A two-step methodology was used to address and improve the power quality concerns for the pV-integrated microgrid system. First, partial shading was included to deal with the real-time issues. The Improved Jelly Fish Algorithm integrated perturb and Obserb (IJFA-pO) has been proposed to track the Global Maximum power point (GMpp). Second, the main unit-powered via DC–AC converter is synchronised with the grid. To cope with the wide voltage variation and harmonic mitigation, an auxiliary unit undergoes a novel series compensation technique. Out of various switching approaches, IJFA-based Selective Harmonic Elimination (SHE) in 120° conduction gives the optimal solution. Three switching angles were obtained using IJFA, whose performance was equivalent to that of nine switching angles. Thus, the system is efficient with minimised higher-order harmonics and lower switching losses. The proposed system outperformed in terms of efficiency, metaheuristics, and convergence. The Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) obtained was 1.32%, which is within the IEEE 1547 and IEC tolerable limits. The model was developed in MATLAb/Simulink 2016b and verified with an experimental prototype of grid-synchronised pV capacity of 260 W tested under various loading conditions. The present model is reliable and features a simple controller that provides more convenient and adequate performance.

Results of research into a compound channel having width ratio （a） in excess of 11 are presented in the form of boun-dary shear distributions across the compound cross section. New relationship is derived between the percentage of shear carried by the flood plains （%S fp ） and the percentage of area occupied by the flood plains （%Afp ） . The equation so derived is taken as the basis to develop a new methodology to predict the stage discharge relationship specifically for wide compound channels using Darcy＇s friction factor （ f ） for the main channel and flood plain regions. The methodology also is used for compound channels with smaller width ratios by applying the appropriate relation for %S fp derived earlier by different researchers and seems to work well. Next, as a corollary to the methodology, separate formulae are proposed to estimate flow distribution in main channel and flood plain regions. The proposed method and its corollary are tested for their validity against well-published small-scale data series of pre-vious researchers along with some large-scale data series from EpSRC-FCF （A-Series） compound channel experiments and very good agreement is observed between the measured values and predicted values for total flow as well as zonal distribution of flow. The methodology is also applied to some compound river section data published in literature and is found to serve well the purpose of predicting flow in real world application. This new method gives the least RMS value of error for discharge prediction compared with some other well-known methods used for estimating stage-discharge relation in compound channels by considering all data sets.

In this article,we present two new novel finite difference approximations of order two and four,respectively,for the three dimensional non-linear triharmonic partial differential equations on a compact stencil where the values of u,δ^(2)u/δn^(2)andδ^(4)u/δn^(4)are prescribed on the *** introduce new ideas to handle the boundary conditions and there is no need to discretize the derivative boundary *** require only 7-and 19-grid points on the compact cell for the second and fourth order approximation,*** Laplacian and the biharmonic of the solution are obtained as by-product of the *** require only system of three equations to obtain the *** results are provided to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed methods.

A novel bioresin, epoxidized soybean oil was synthesized by in situ method and was characterized employing FTIR and NMR. The bioresin was blended with epoxy（DGEbA） at different ratios as reactive diluents for improved processibility and toughened nature. The composition with 20 wt% bioresin exhibited improved impact strength to the tune of 60% as compared to virgin epoxy. Fracture toughness parameters critical stress intensity factor（KIC） and critical strain energy release rate（GIC） were evaluated using single edge notch bending test and demonstrated superior enhancement in toughness. Dynamic mechanical, thermal, thermo mechanical and fracture morphological analyses have been studied for bio-based epoxy blends. Curing kinetics has been evaluated through DSC analysis to investigate the effect of bioresin on cross-linking reaction of neat epoxy with triethylenetetramine as curing agent.

In this paper,we propose a new high accuracy discretization based on the ideas given by Chawla and Shivakumar for the solution of two-space dimensional nonlinear hyper-bolic partial differential equation of the form utt=A(x,y,t)uxx+b(x,y,t)uyy+g(x,y,t,u,ux,uy,ut),00 subject to appropriate initial and Dirichlet boundary *** use only five evaluations of the function g and do not require any fictitious points to discretize the differential *** proposed method is directly applicable to wave equation in polar coordinates and when applied to a linear telegraphic hyperbolic equation is shown to be unconditionally *** results are provided to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed method.
