The ^(12)C+^(12)C fusion reaction was studied in the range of E_(c.m.)=8.9 to 21 meV using the active-target Time Projection *** full information on all tracks of the reaction products,cross sections of the^(12)C(^(12)C,^(8)be)^(16)O_(g.s.)channel and the ^(12)C(^(12)C,3a)^(12)C channel could be measured down to the level of a few *** ^(12)C(^(12)C,^(8)be)^(16)O_(g.s.)reaction channel was determined to be 10_(-8)^(+24) mb at E_(c.m.)=11.1 meV,supporting the direct a transfer reaction *** ^(12)C(^(12)C,3α)^(12)C reaction channel was studied for the first time using an exclusive *** result does not confirm the anomaly behavior reported in the previous inclusive measurement by Kolata et al.[***.C 21,579(1980)].Our comparisons with statistical model calculations suggest that the 3 a channel is dominated by the fusion evaporation process at E_(c.m.)>19 *** additional contribution of the 3 a channel increases the fusion reaction cross section by 10% at energies above 20 *** also find that an additional reaction mechanism is needed to explain the measured cross section at E_(c.m.)meV at which point the statistical model prediction vanishes.

A Heterogeneous Ensemble of Extreme Learning machines with Correntropy and Negative Correlation

The Extreme Learning machine（ELm） is an effective learning algorithm for a Single-Layer Feedforward Network（SLFN）. It performs well in managing some problems due to its fast learning speed. However, in practical applications, its performance might be affected by the noise in the training data. To tackle the noise issue, we propose a novel heterogeneous ensemble of ELms in this article. Specifically, the correntropy is used to achieve insensitive performance to outliers, while implementing Negative Correlation Learning（NCL） to enhance diversity among the ensemble. The proposed Heterogeneous Ensemble of ELms（HE2 Lm） for classification has different ELm algorithms including the Regularized ELm（RELm）, the Kernel ELm（KELm）, and the L2-norm-optimized ELm（ELmL2）. The ensemble is constructed by training a randomly selected ELm classifier on a subset of the training data selected through random resampling. Then, the class label of unseen data is predicted using a maximum weighted sum approach. After splitting the training data into subsets, the proposed HE2 Lm is tested through classification and regression tasks on real-world benchmark datasets and synthetic datasets. Hence, the simulation results show that compared with other algorithms, our proposed method can achieve higher prediction accuracy, better generalization, and less sensitivity to outliers.

Innate lymphoid cells(ILCs)represent a heterogeneous population,including both effectors and regulators of innate immunity,inflammation and tissue modeling.1 ILCs are categorized into three subgroups,ILC1s,ILC2s and ILC3s,based on similarities in phenotypic,ontogenetic and functional characteristics.2 ILC3s intrinsically require the transcription factor retinoic acid receptor-related orphan receptorγt(RORγt)for their development and function.3 In response to specific stimuli,ILC3s produce IL-17 and IL-22 and play a critical role in intestinal mucosal protection,inflammation and innate responses 4 accompanied by a series of pathophysiological changes involving large-scale genetic upregulation and downregulation.5,6 However,a key challenge remains in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the development and maintenance of ILC3s.

Kinetics of fluorescence properties of Eu^(3+) ion in strontium-aluminiumbismuth-borate glasses

Eu3＋ doped strontium-aluminium-bismuth-borate glasses with the chemical composition（50–x）b2O3＋20bi2O3＋7Al F3＋ 8Sr O＋15Sr F2＋x Eu2O3（where x=0.1 mol.%, 0.5 mol.%, 1.0 mol.% and 1.5 mol.%） were prepared by the conventional melt quenching *** properties of the prepared glasses were analysed through X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscopy（SEm）, energy dispersive spectroscopy（EDS） and Raman spectral *** stability of glass was analysed by differential thermal analysis（DTA） *** characteristics were studied using excitation, emission spectra and decay curves of Eu3＋ doped strontium-aluminium-bismuth-borate *** Judd-Ofelt（J-O） intensity parameters, Ωλ（λ=2, 4 and 6） were obtained using emission spectra and was used to identify the nature of Eu3＋ ions with their surrounding *** J-O parameters the transition probabilities（A）, stimulated emission cross-sections σE p, branching ratios（βR） and radiative lifetimes（τmeas and τcal） were evaluated for the 5D0→7F J（J=0, 1, 2, 3 and 4） transition of Eu3＋ ions in the present *** decay profiles were found to be non exponential for all the concentrations and the measured lifetimes（τmeas） were obtained from the decay *** higher values of A, σE p, βR and quantum efficiency（η） for 5D0→7F2 emission transition at 617 nm confirmed the present glass was as active medium for red laser emission applications.

Effects of annealing temperature on shape transformation and optical properties of germanium quantum dots

The influences of thermal annealing on the structural and optical features of radio frequency（rf） magnetron sputtered self-assembled Ge quantum dots（QDs） on Si（100） are *** oriented structures of Ge along the（220） and（111） directions together with peak shift and reduced strain（4.9%to 2.7%） due to post-annealing at 650 ℃ are discerned from x-ray differaction（XRD） *** force microscopy（AFm） images for both pre-annealed and post-annealed（650 ℃） samples reveal pyramidal-shaped QDs（density - 0.26×10^11 cm^-2） and dome-shape morphologies with relatively high density - 0.92×10^11 cm^-2,*** shape transformation is attributed to the mechanism of inter-diffusion of Si in Ge interfacial intermixing and strain *** annealing temperature assisted QDs structural evolution is explained using the theory of nucleation and growth kinetics where free energy minimization plays a pivotal *** observed red-shift - 0.05 eV in addition to the narrowing of the photoluminescence peaks results from thermal annealing,and is related to the effect of quantum ***,the appearance of a blue-violet emission peak is ascribed to the recombination of the localized electrons in the Ge-QDs/SiO2 or GeOx and holes in the ground state of Ge *** spectra of both samples exhibit an intense Ge-Ge optical phonon mode which shifts towards higher frequency compared with those of the bulk *** experimental Raman profile is fitted to the models of phonon confinement and size distribution combined with phonon confinement to estimate the mean dot sizes.A correlation between thermal annealing and modifications of the structural and optical behavior of Ge QDs is *** growth of Ge QDs with superior properties suitable for optoelectronic applications is demonstrated.
