Objective:To investigate the anti-melanogenic potential of ligustroside isolated from Ligustrum ***:The cytotoxicity of ligustroside was tested via MTT ***,the effects of ligustroside on the expression of critical melanogenic markers such as tyrosinase,tyrosinase related proteins(TRPs),and microphthalmia-associated transcription factor(MITF)were analyzed at both mRNA and protein levels via RT-qPCR and Western blot,respectively,inα-melanocyte stimulating hormoneinduced b16F10 *** addition,phosphorylation of p38,ERk and JNk proteins was *** analysis of MITF was also ***:Ligustroside significantly reduced intracellular tyrosinase activity and melanin content by 37.11%and 29.12%,respectively,compared to untreated ***,it downregulated the expression of MITF,tyrosinase,TRP-1,and TRP-2 at the mRNA and protein levels by regulating both the mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPk)and protein kinase A(PkA)/cAMP response element-binding protein(CREb)signaling *** also suppressed the nuclear protein expression of MITF,β-catenin,and p-CREb,and decreased immunofluorescence intensity of nuclear ***:Ligustroside derived from Ligustrum japonicum shows a significant anti-melanogenesis effect via suppression of the MAPk and PkA/CREb signaling pathways.

Nano-scaled Ti-b-N coatings could be produced by inductively coupled plasma (ICP) assisted magnetron spurtering. The properties and microstructure of the coating can be changed drastically by applying ICP to conventional magnetron sputtering. In this work, an internal type rf ICP process is used. The core of this technology is the efficient production and control of self-depositing ions and reactive gas ions by an induced electric field. Ti-b-N coatings were prepared by using a Tib2 target and a gas mixture of N2 and Ar at 200 ℃ and a pressure of 60 mTorr. In addition to ICP, the effect of the substrate bias voltage on the structure and properties of the coating was investigated. by applying ICP and a bias voltage to the substrate the hardness of the Ti-b-N coating is increased by more than 75 GPa, as a result of enhanced ionization in the plasma. The Ti-b-N coating, which has the highest hardness, shows the best surface uniformity and a very dense structure with a grain size of 3 nm. This sample also shows a high crystallinity compared to the coating prepared using other deposition parameters.

Due to the worldwide epidemic of obesity, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) has become the most com-mon cause of elevated liver enzymes. NAFLD represents a spectrum of liver injury ranging from simple steato-sis to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH) which may progress to advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis. Individuals with NAFLD, especially those with metabolic syndrome, have higher overall mortality, cardiovascular mortality, and liver-related mortality compared with the general population. According to the population-based studies, NAFLD and NASH are more prevalent in males and in Hispanics. both the gender and racial ethnic differences in NAFLD and NASH are likely attributed to interaction between environmental, behavioral, and genetic fac-tors. Using genome-wide association studies, several genetic variants have been identified to be associated with NAFLD/NASH. However, these variants account for only a small amount of variation in hepatic steatosis among ethnic groups and may serve as modifiers of the natural history of NAFLD. Alternatively, these variants may not be the causative variants but simply markers representing a larger body of genetic variations. In this article, we provide a concise review of the gender and racial differences in the prevalence of NAFLD and NASHin adults. We also discuss the possible mechanisms for these disparities.

Correlation between gas and dust column density has been studied for the dark globule L1523. The 13CO（J=1→0） emission is used for tracing the gas, and the IR emissions, for tracing the dust constituent. In order to match the beam resolution between the images, a beam de-convolution algorithm based on the Maximum Correlation Method （MCM） was applied on the Infrared Astronomical Satellite （IRAS） data. The morphology of 13CO column density map shows a close correlation to that of 100μm dust optical depth. The distribution of the optical depth at 100 μm follows that of gas column density more closely than does the flux map at either 60 or 100μm. The ratio of the 13CO column density to the 100μm optical depth shows a decreasing trend with increasing dust optical depth in the central part, indicating possible molecular gas condensation onto dust particles. The excessive decrease in the CO column density in the envelope may most probably be due to the photo-dissociation of CO molecules.

●AIM:To compare the success rate and complications of adjuvant use of mitomycin C and triamcinoloneimpregnated biodegradable nasal packing(TAbP)in endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy(DCR).And to evaluate the efficacy of combining intraoperative mitomycin C and TAbP for endoscopic DCR.●METHODS:A total of 198 eyes of 148 patients who underwent endoscopic DCR for acquired nasolacrimal duct obstruction were retrospectively *** patients were randomly divided into three groups:Group A included patients treated without intraoperative mitomycin C but with TAbP,Group b included patients treated without triamcinolone but with intraoperative mitomycin C and normal saline-impregnated nasal packing,and Group C included patients treated with intraoperative mitomycin C and TAbP.●RESULTS:The results revealed no significant difference in the overall success rates between Groups A(86.8%)and b(89.2%;P=0.377).However,Group C(97.5%)showed a significantly higher overall success rate than Groups A and *** incidence of granulomas was significantly lower in group C(5%)than in Groups A(20.8%)and b(15.2%;P=0.009).Other complications,such as crust,synechiae,and revision surgery,did not differ significantly among the three groups.●CONCLUSION:The combination of intraoperative mitomycin C and TAbP effectively prevents granulomas and enhances surgical success ***,there is no statistically significant difference observed between the use of mitomycin C or TAbP alone.

Spatial control of lithium deposition is the most important issue in lithium-metal batteries because of the considerable control of lithium dendrite suppression via the uniform distribution of Li^(+)*** seed materials are crucial for the behavior of lithium deposition,in-depth studies on their physical and chemical control have not been ***,we describe a new design of seed structure comprising a wrinkled Cu/graphene substrate surrounded by copper(Ⅰ)oxide(Cu_(2)O)on a graphene grain boundary over a large area,which is fabricated by the oxidation of the Cu surface via graphene boundary defects by using chemical vapor deposition(CVD).Scanning and transmission electron microscopy results reveal that Cu_(2)O on the graphene boundary can render a preferential reaction with lithium during the first deposition and assist in the uniform deposition of lithium by preventing the agglomeration of lithium clusters during the second *** two-step process is attributed to the degree of selectivity due to the difference in lithium affinity,which allows long-term electrochemical stability and a high rate capability via boundary *** study highlights the significance of the boundary effect,which can open new avenues for the formation of a large family of seed structures in lithium-metal batteries.

This article introduces a novel variational model for restoring images degraded by Cauchy noise and/or *** model integrates a nonconvex data-fidelity term with two regularization terms,a sparse representation prior over dictionary learning and total generalized variation(TGV)*** sparse representation prior exploiting patch information enables the preservation of fine features and textural patterns,while adequately denoising in homogeneous regions and contributing natural visual *** regularization further assists in effectively denoising in smooth regions while retaining *** adopting the penalty method and an alternating minimization approach,we present an efficient iterative algorithm to solve the proposed *** results establish the superiority of the proposed model over other existing models in regard to visual quality and certain image quality assessments.

A Schwann cell has regenerative capabilities and is an important cell in the peripheral nervous *** microarray study is part of a bioinformatics study that focuses mainly on Schwann cells. Microarray data provide information on differences between microarray-based and experiment-based gene expression analyses. According to microarray data, several genes exhibit increased expression(fold change) but they are weakly expressed in experimental studies(based on morphology, protein and mRNA levels). In contrast, some genes are weakly expressed in microarray data and highly expressed in experimental studies;such genes may represent future target genes in Schwann cell studies. These studies allow us to learn about additional genes that could be used to achieve targeted results from experimental studies. In the current big data study by retrieving more than 5000 scientific articles from PubMed or NCbI, Google Scholar, and Google, 1016(up-and downregulated) genes were determined to be related to Schwann cells. However,no experiment was performed in the laboratory; rather, the present study is part of a big data analysis. Our study will contribute to our understanding of Schwann cell biology by aiding in the identification of *** on a comparative analysis of all microarray data, we conclude that the microarray could be a good tool for predicting the expression and intensity of different genes of interest in actual experiments.

boron doping,combined with neutron capture in fission reactors,has been used to simulate the helium effect on fusion structural ***,inhomogeneous helium bubble formation was often observed due to boron segregation to grain *** excess radiation displacements due to^(10)b(n,α)^(7)Li reaction,the high-energy lithium and helium ions,also were not accounted for,which can significantly accelerate the displacements-per-atom(dpa)accumulation alongside helium production(appm).Hereby an isotopically pure^(10)b doping approach is proposed to simulate the extreme envi-ronment inside fusion reactors with a high He appm-to-dpa ratio of about 10,which is about 10^(2)×larger than in fission *** modeling showed that~13%of total radiation displacement was induced by^(10)b(n,α)^(7)Li in the case of 1000 appm^(10)b doped Fe samples,which becomes even greater with increasing^(10)b *** homogenous radiation damage and helium generation are pre-dicted for grain sizes less than 1 mm,even if the boron partially formed precipitates or segregates on grain *** studies with various^(10)b doping(and^(235)U-codoping)levels in research reactors showed the estimated helium generation and radiation damage would significantly mimic fusion conditions and greatly expedite fusion materials testing,from many years down to months.
