The metasediments in the Chamba region experienced three phases of deformation: DF1, DF2 and *** quartz veins are co-folded with the F2 crenulation folds. Their geometric and tectonic significance is studied by microstructures and shortening adjacent to the discrete crenulation cleavage, S2. microstructures of folded vein segments, their geometric changes and truncation to cleavage (S2) are mainly due to pressure-solution phenomena and the estimated volume loss from reconstructed vein segments range from 16 to 25.5%,which is closely related to volume decrease (26%) calculated from the polydeformed slates of North Wales areas.

In this present study,we have analyzed different types of X-ray solar flares(C,m,and X classes)coming out from different classes of sunspot groups(SSGs).The data which we have taken under this study cover the duration of 24 yr from 1996 to *** this,we observed a total of 15015 flares(8417 in SC-23 and 6598 in SC-24)emitted from a total of 33780 active regions(21746 in SC-23 and 12034 in SC-24)with sunspot *** defined the flaring potential or flare-production potential as the ratio of the total number of flares produced from a particular type of SSG to the total number of the same-class SSGs observed on the solar *** we studied yearly changes in the flaring potential of different mcIntosh class groups of sunspots in different phases of SC-23 and *** addition,we investigated yearly variations in the potential of producing flares by different SSGs(A,b,C,D,E,F,and H)during different phases(ascending,maximum,descending,and minimum)of SC-23 and *** are our findings:(1)D,E,and F SSGs have the potential of producing flares≥8 times greater than A,b,C and H SSGs;(2)The larger and more complex D,E,and F SSGs produced nearly 80%of flares in SC-23 and 24;(3)The A,b,C and H SSGs,which are smaller and simpler,produced only 20%of flares in SC-23 and 24;(4)The biggest and most complex SSGs of F-class have flaring potential 1.996 and 3.443 per SSG in SC-23 and 24,respectively.(5)The potential for producing flares in each SSG is higher in SC-24 than in SC-23,although SC-24 is a weaker cycle than SC-23.(6)The alterations in the number of flares(C+m+X)show different time profiles than the alterations in sunspot numbers during SC-23 and 24,with several peaks.(7)The SSGs of C,D,E,and H-class have the highest flaring potential in the descending phase of both SC-23 and 24.(8)F-class SSGs have the highest flaring potential in the descending phase of SC-23 but also in the maximum phase of SC-24.

The report highlights the significant progress over various regions with respect to understanding of coastal hazards, numerical modeling techniques and the generation & dissemination of coastal hazard warnings and products. The developments over various regions in the globe during 2014-18 have been discussed in this report as presented during 10th Session of International Workshop on Tropical Cyclones (IWTC-X) at bali, Indonesia. more specifically, various regions have started to confront the uncertainty that cannot be removed from TC analyses and forecasts and further communicate those hazards within the context of risk [probabilistic] based information. Progress also includes impact-based forecasts such as communicating coastal inundation information relative to total water level instead of storm surge, specifically (i.e., anomaly from astronomical tide and waves). Lastly, updates to model grid configuration, model resolution, and coupled dynamical systems continue to resolve the costal hazards more effectively. Those approaches have likely helped reduce loss of life relative to historical standards. However, regions agree that the generation and dissemination of coastal hazard information still need to be improved in view of growing population along the coast and thus increased exposure of life to coastal hazard. The study investigated the long-term effect of feeding processed solvent extracted karanj(Pongamia glabra) cake(SkC) on gross pathology and histopathological changes in some vital organs, and on the activities of serum enzymes in Jalauni lambs. Twenty-four male lambs were divided into 4 groups and allotted randomly to a soybean meal(Sbm) based control(CON) and 3 treatment groups receiving concentrate mixtures, containing water washed(WW), 2.5% lime(Lm) and 0.4% binder(bN) treated SkC replacing 50% nitrogen of Sbm to meet the protein requirements. blood was collected after 150 days from all the lambs and serum activities of aspartate aminotransferase(AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) were assayed. All lambs were sacrificed after 196 days, and vital organs screened for gross pathological lesions. The representative tissues of liver, intestine, parathyroid gland,testis, and epididymis were sampled, preserved in 10% formalin and processed to examine histopathological changes by staining with haematoxylin and eosin(HE). The serum enzyme activities of AST and ALT were similar in the treatments, but the activity of LDH was higher(P kC-fed groups than the control. The weight and size of the liver were decreased in bN group, while those of testes were decreased in both Lm and bN groups. The histological sections of the testes and epididymis of lambs from Lm group showed hypoplastic seminiferous tubules and empty ductules, respectively. The histological sections of the parathyroid gland in the same diet revealed smaller and non-secretory chief cells. The small intestine of lambs from bN group showed infiltration of mononuclear cells(mNC) in lamina propria with mild fibroplasia in intervillous areas. The histological section of liver from this group showed mNC infiltration in portal areas. We present the diurnal and seasonal variability of ambient NH3, NO, NO2 and SO2 over Delhi, India. Ambient NH3, NO and NO2 were measured continuously during winter, summer and autumn seasons using NH3- and NOx-analyzer, which operates by chemiluminescence method with a higher estimation efficiency （〉 90%） than the chemical trap method （reproducibility 4.7%）. Prominent diurnal, day-to-day and seasonal variations of ambient mixing ratio of NH3, NO, NO2 and SO2 were observed during the study period. Seasonal variation with higher mixing ratio in winter was observed for all measured trace gases except NO. Day-night variation of all measured trace gases observed was higher in winter in comparison with summer. Late morning increase in NO2 mixing ratio might be attributed to conversion of NO to NO2 with the interaction ofO3.

Characterization of bi2/3Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics synthesized by semi-wet route

biCuTiO(bCTO) ceramic was synthesized by the semi-wet route using metal nitrate solutions and solid TiOpowder in a stoichiometric ratio. Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) study of bCTO precursor powder and calcined ceramic showed the presence of alcoholic functional groups and the stretching band of Ti-O and Cu-O respectively. X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEm) and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy(EDX) were employed to characterize the structure, surface morphology and purity of the sintered bCTO ceramic respectively. X-ray diffraction study confirmed the single phase formation of bCTO ceramic at1073 k. The average dimension of grains calculated by SEm and AFm was found to be in the range of 0.73 ±0.2 μm with clear grain boundaries. magnetic property was investigated over a wide temperature range 2–300 k at a magnetic field of 7 tesla. The Curie temperature was calculated by zero field cooled(m) and field cooled(m) magnetization at 100 Oe applied field which was found to be 125 k. The sintered bCTO ceramic shows high dielectric constant(ε’=2.9×10~4) at 323 k and 100 Hz.

most community forests in hill regions of northeast India have been managed by traditional local institutions for centuries and most of these institutions remain functional even today. Higher forest coverage on private and community lands as compared to government land indicates that traditional institutions effectively manage community forests in the region. The present study was conducted through a survey of literature and field work using participatory research tools viz., PRA exercises, group discussions and questionnaire interviews with key informants in northeast India. We categorized the institutions involved in conservation and management of forests into three major types： traditional, quasi-traditional and modern. Traditional institutions with hierarchal structure were found in all states and are intact and functional in the state of meghalaya. Quasi-traditional institutions, a blend of traditional and modern institutions were prevalent in Nagaland while modern institutions have almost replaced traditional institutions in mizoram. We recorded at least eleven types of community forests viz., group of village forest, village forest, restricted forest, sacred forest, clan forest, cemetery forest, regeneration forest, bamboo forest, recreation forest, village reserved forest and medicinal plantation in villages of three states. The tribal people, through long-term trial and error experiments, have developed an elaborate, functional and generally democratic system of conservation and management of forests and associated natural ecosystems. Several forest and natural resource management lessons can be learnt from the institutional structure and decision making system of the evolving and dynamic institutions of tribal communities of the region.
