A theory of an electron afnity for an ionic cluster is proposed both in a quasiclassical approach and with quantization of a polarization electric field in a nanoparticle. A critical size of the cluster regarding in formation of an electron's autolocalized state, dependencies of energy and radius of a polaron on a cluster's size are obtained by a variational method. it has been found that binding energy of the electron in the cluster depends on a cluster's radius but a radius of electron's auto-localization does not depend on the cluster's radius and it equals to the polaron radius in a corresponding infinity crystal. A bound state of the electron in a cluster is possible only if the cluster's radius is more than the polaron radius.

An approach to the theory of geometrization of the Universe is proposed. The wave function of the Universe is represented by the Clifford number with the transfer rules that have the structure of the Dirac equation for any manifold. Solutions of this equation may be obtained in terms of the geometric interpretation. A new model is proposed that can explain the manifestation of the dark energy and dark matter in the Universe as a geometrical entity with a mechanism involving the spontaneous symmetry breaking.

A simple model of the closely packed structure for system of hard-sphere particles interacting via the long-range Newtonian type attraction is suggested. based on density functional theory, the exact equation of state is obtained and the mutual transformations of the crystal structures in such systems are studied. The description takes into account the fact impossibility of hard-sphere particles which have the same spatial occupation place.

The self-gravitating systems a priory are non-equilibrium. The new approach, based on non-equilibrium statistical operator, which allows taking into account inhomogeneous distribution of particles and temperature, has been proposed. Such method employs a saddle point procedure to find dominant contributions to the partition function and permits to obtain all thermodynamic parameters of the system. Statistical induced dynamic and behavioral peculiarities of self-gravitating systems for different conditions have been predicted.

The physical nature of the fundamental scalar field generation and hence the origination of the Universe is a matter of the discussions for many years. We propose to use the statistical approach to the description of the steady states of the quasi stationary systems with the elements of the quantum field theory methods as a basis to explain the appearance of the cosmological scalar field. Particularly, we apply two fundamental principles, i.e., the H-theorem and least-energy principle to show principal possibility of the scalar field origination. Along with the basic statement that in the presence of the fundamental scalar field, the energy of the vacuum ground state is lower than the ground state energy of the vacuum with no scalar field (primary vacuum), and with regard to the nonlinear interaction of fluctuating physical fields with the scalar field, these principles are employed to reveal probable phase transitions that may be associated with origin and further evolution of the Universe. Thus, we propose the possible physical justification of the spontaneous cosmological scalar field generation.

Spinescence has been thought to have evolved mainly as a defense against ***,studying its evolution in a whole flora is an excellent approach for understanding long-term plant-herbivore *** this study,we characterized the spinescent plant species of Jiaozi Snow Mountain,Southwestern China,in order to explore the effects of life forms,plant organs,phylogenetic position,and phytogeographical origin on spinescence *** Jiaozi Snow Mountain flora includes 137 spinescent species(9.2%)out of 1488 angiosperm *** found that in these spinescent species,vegetative organs(70.0%)were significantly more defended than reproductive organs(43.8%).Life form had a significant effect on spinescence *** species(18.6%)were more likely to be spiny than non-woody species(6.4%);moreover,woody species mostly defend their vegetative organs(92.2%),whereas herbaceous species mostly defend their reproductive organs(73.3%).For woody plants,leaf habit has a significant effect on ***,spinescence was more common on the reproductive organs of deciduous woody species than on those of evergreen woody species;furthermo re,spinescence was more common on the leaf blades of evergreens than on those of deciduous species;however,the proportion of spinescent petioles in deciduous species was significantly higher than in *** most common spine color was yellow(40.8%),followed by white(16.8%),red(15.8%),and brown(14.3%);furthermore,74.4%of spinescence that showed aposematic color was a different color than the plant organ on which *** findings suggest that spinescence is visually aposematic in the Jiaozi Snow Mountain ***,more families tended to have spines on vegetative organs(83.3%in vegetative organs,50.0%in reproductive organs),but the phylogenetic signals were *** proportion of spinescence was not significantly different between tropical(9.8%of genera,7.6%of species)and temperate(13.2%of ge

We consider the physical limitations imposed on the information content of an image by the wave and quantum nature of light, when the image is obtained by illuminating a reflecting or transmitting planar object by natural (i.e., fully thermalized) light, or by observation of an object emitting incoherent (thermal) radiation. The discreteness of the degrees of freedom and the statistical properties of thermal radiation are taken into account. We derive the maximum amount of information that can be retrieved from the object. This amount is always finite and is proportional to the area of the object, the solid angle under which the entrance pupil of the receiver is seen from the object, and the time of observation. An explicit expression for the information in the case where the information recorded by the receiver obeys Planck’s spectral distribution is obtained. The amount of information per photon of recorded radiation is a universal numerical constant, independent of the parameters of observation.

Evidence for the existence of localized plastic flow au-to-waves generated in deforming metals

The localized plastic flow auto-waves observed for the stages of easy glide and linear work hardening in a number of metals are considered. The propagation rates were determined expe- rimentally for the auto-waves in question with the aid of focused-image holography. The dispersion relation of quadratic form derived for localized plastic flow auto-waves and the dependencies of phase and group rates on wave number are discussed. A detailed comparison of the quantitative characteristics of phase and group waves has revealed that the two types of wave are closely related. An invariant is introduced for localized plastic flow phenomena occurring on the micro-and macro-scale levels in the deforming solid.
