The correlation between the wear behavior of a heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) brake liner tested under controlled laboratory conditions and that in actual field conditions is investigated.A brake liner study for friction and wear is performed on an inertia brake dynamometer (IbD) at different temperatures (200 ℃,250 ℃,and 300 ℃) using 6000 brake actuations in a *** total wear loss of the brake liner at three different temperatures for 6000 brake actuations in IbD is found to be 1.12 *** actual field test is conducted on four different HCVs,namely,a city bus (Cb),a high speed bus (HSb),a highway truck (HWT),and a tipper lorry (TL).These HCVs run at different terrain/traffic conditions and load *** comparing the predicted life of the brake liner through the IbD test with the actual life of the brake liner in different HCVs,a vast difference is *** to the large variation of liner life observed between the actual and predicted tests,an extensive field test is *** the field test,the liner with identical formulation is fitted in the four types of *** predicted life of the liner using IbD is then correlated with the field test observation and a correlation factor is *** on this correlation factor,the predicted life of the liner and the achieved life on the HCV are found to be fairly *** study will be useful to design the friction material formulation and to predict the actual life of the brake liner for various HCVs.

A total of 3611 fungal isolates were recovered from 4200 leaf segments incubated from 7 medicinal herbs during monsoon, winter and summer seasons. These fungal isolates belonged to teleomorphic Asco-mycota （23.5%）, anamorphic Ascomycota producing conidiomata （17.4%）, anamorphic Ascomycota without conidiomata （46.9%）, Zygo-mycota （1.42%） and sterile forms （10.6%）. Chaetomium globosum, As-pergillus niger, Aureobasidium pullulans, Curvularia lunata, Fusarium spp., Penicillium spp., Pestalotiopsis spp., Trichoderma viridae, Cladosporium cladosporioides, were frequently isolated from more than one host plant. The number of endophytic isolates was higher in winter than in monsoon and summer seasons.

Progeny studies of Jatropha curcas and Pongamia pinnata were carried with respect to bioproductivity,pod and seed characters which is one of the selection methods in tree improvement programmes. Variations in bioproductivity and biodiesel parameters of both the plants were compared every 6 months for 4 years of investigation and analyzed by analysis of variance and correlation coefficient by Pearson＇s method using software Graphpad instat 3.06（for Windows and Mac）. P. pinnata has better germination rate（71.4 %）, 100 pod weight（PW）（311.59 g） and 100 seed weight（SW）（173.46 g） as compared to J. curcas for germination rate（43.2 %）, 100 PW（111.29 g） and 100 SW（67.46 g）. P. pinnata has strong correlation for plant height to canopy growth（CG）（0.948）, collar diameter（CD）（0.994）, number of branches per plant（NbP）（0.995） and to number of leaves per branch（NLb）（0.862） as compared to *** which showed good correlation among plant height to CG（0.976）, CD（0.970）, NbP（0.988）, NLb（0.920） and to number of pods per branch（0.657）. However, J. curcas depicted negative correlation for pod breadth to seed length（SL）（-0.447）, seed breadth（-0.248） and to seed thickness（ST）（-0.364） and among the 100 PW to SL（-0.199）, ST（-0.220） and to 100 SW（-0.704）. About 4 kg of P. pinnata seeds were required for each liter of crude oil which yields896 ml of biodiesel on transesterification as compared to5.66 kg of J. curcas seeds for a liter of crude oil, producing about 663 ml of biodiesel. The quality of biodiesel meets the major specification of American Society for Testing and Materials（ASTM） standards for biodiesel. The crude glycerin and seed cake obtained as byproduct during biodiesel production were also measured which can be purified and used in composting, animal feeds, pharmaceuticals and cosmetic industries.

Due to the advanced developments in communication technologies,Internet of vehicles and vehicular adhoc networks(VANET)offers numerous opportunities for effectively managing transportation *** the other,the cloud environment needs to disseminate the emergency message to the vehicles which are consistently distributed on the roadway so that every vehicle gets the messages from closer vehicles in a straightforward *** resolve this issue,clustering and routing techniques can be designed using computational intelligence *** this motivation,this paper presents a new type-2 fuzzy sets based clustering with metaheuristic optimization based routing(T2FSCMOR)technique for secure communication in *** T2FSC-MOR technique aims to elect CHs and optimal routes for secure intercluster data transmission in *** proposed model involves T2FSC technique for the selection of CHs and construction of *** T2FSC technique uses different parameters namely traveling speed(TS),link quality(LQ),trust factor(TF),inter-vehicle distance(IVD),and neighboring node count(NCC).The inclusion of trust factor helps to select the proper cluster heads(CHs)for secure data dissemination ***,trust aware seagull optimization based routing(TASGOR)approach was derived for the optimal selection of routes in *** order to validate the enhanced performance of proposed technique,the set of simulations take place and the outcomes are examined interms of different *** experimental outcomes highlighted the improved performance of the proposed model over the other state of art techniques with a higher throughput of 98%.

In a distributed storage system, code symbols are dispersed across space in nodes or storage units as opposed to time. In settings such as that of a large data center, an important consideration is the efficient repair of a failed node. Efficient repair calls for erasure codes that in the face of node failure,are efficient in terms of minimizing the amount of repair data transferred over the network, the amount of data accessed at a helper node as well as the number of helper nodes contacted. Coding theory has evolved to handle these challenges by introducing two new classes of erasure codes, namely regenerating codes and locally recoverable codes as well as by coming up with novel ways to repair the ubiquitous Reed-Solomon code. This survey provides an overview of the efforts in this direction that have taken place over the past decade.
