Respiratory Response of Dormant Nectarine Vegetative buds to High Temperature Stress

High temperature stress （HT） is efficient in breaking endo-dormancy of perennial trees. The effects of HT （50°C） on the respiration of dormant nectarine （Prunus persica var. nectariana cv. Shuguang） vegetative buds were evaluated in the research. We found that bud respiration was transiently inhibited by HT and the pentose phosphate pathway （PPP） and the cytochrome C pathway （CYT） were significantly affected. On the substrate level, PPP was activated in the HT-treated buds compared with the control group. However, the activation did mot occur until hours after HT treatment. The tricarboxylic acid cycle （TCA） in both the HT-treated buds and in the control group proceeded at a low level most of the time compared with total respiration. On the electron transfer level, CYT was transiently inhibited by HT but became significantly active in the later stage. CYT operation in the control group exhibited an attenuation process. The alternative pathway （ALT） fluctuated both in the HT-treated samples and in the control. The results suggest that the temporary CYT inhibition and the following PPP activation may be involved in HT-induced bud dormancy release and budburst mechanisms.

Elemental characteristics and paleoenvironment reconstruction： a case study of the Triassic lacustrine Zhangjiatan oil shale, southern Ordos basin, China

Using trace elements to reconstruct paleoenvironment is a current hot topic in geochemistry. Through analytical tests of oil yield, ash yield, calorific value, total sulfur, major elements, trace elements, and X-ray diffraction, the quality, mineral content, occurrence mode of elements, and paleoenvironment of the Zhangjiatan oil shale of the Triassic Yanchang Formation in the southern Ordos basin were studied. The analyses revealed relatively high oil yield(average 6.63%) and medium quality. The mineral content in the oil shale was mainly clay minerals,quartz, feldspar, and pyrite; an illite–smectite mixed layer comprised the major proportion of clay minerals. Compared with marine oil shale in China, the Zhangjiatan oil shale had higher contents of quartz, feldspar, and clay minerals, and lower calcite content. Silica was mainly in quartz and Fe was associated with organic matter, which is different from marine oil shale. The form of calcium varied. Cluster analyses indicated that Fe, Cu, U, V, Zn, As,Cs, Cd, Mo, Ga, Pb, Co, Ni, Cr, Sc, P, and Mn are associated with organic matter while Ca, Na, Sr, ba, Si, Zr, K,Al, b, Mg, and Ti are mostly terrigenous. Sr/Cu, ba/Al, V/(V+ Ni), U/Th, AU, and δU of oil shale samples suggest the paleoclimate was warm and humid, paleoproductivity of the lake was relatively high during deposition of the shale—which mainly occurred in fresh water—and the paleo-redox condition was dominated by reducing conditions. Fe/Ti ratios of the oil shale samples suggest clear hydrothermal influence in the eastern portion of the study area and less conspicuous hydrothermal influence in the western portion.

Radiotherapy(RT)mediated tumor immunogenicity offers an opportunity for simultaneous RT and immunotherapy via immunogenic cell death(ICD),which releases damaged-associated molecular patterns and generates“eat me”signals for the innate immune system to modulate the ***,tumor hypoxia significantly reduces the therapeutic efficacy of RT and hampers its mediation of ICD ***,Au@bi_(2)Te_(3)-polyethylene glycol(PEG)was rationally constructed as theranostic nanozymes for mild photothermal therapy,tumor hypoxia modulation,and RT adjuvant cancer *** tumor-specific production of oxygen could not only augment the effects of RT by enhanced reactive oxygen species(ROS)generation,but also reduce hypoxia-related cytokines and downregulate programmed cell death-ligand 1(PD-L1)to unleash immune-enhancing T ***,Au@bi_(2)Te_(3)-PEG could act as an immune-blocking inhibitor by efficient ICD induction with the combination of mild-photothermal therapy+RT to inhibit the tumor immune escape and improve antitumor immune *** amounts of CD^(4+) and CD^(8+) Tcells and elevated levels of cytokines could be observed that eventually led to effective post-medication inhibition of primary and abscopal *** computed tomography/photoacoustic imaging allowed noninvasive and real-time tracking of nanoparticle(NP)accumulation and oxygenation status at tumor ***,Au@bi_(2)Te_(3)-PEG NPs could serve as effective theranostic nanoregulators with remarkable synergistic mildphotothermal/RT/immunotherapy effects that helped reshape the immune microenvironment and had remarkable molecular imaging properties.

Green synthesis of ZSM-5 using silica fume and catalytic co-cracking of lignin and plastics for production of monocyclic aromatics

ZSM-5 with hierarchical pore structure was synthesized by a simple two-step hydrothermal crystallization from silica fume without using any organic ammonium *** synthesized ZSM-5 were oval shaped particles with a particle size about 2.0 μm and weak acid-dominated with proper brønsted(b)and Lewis(L)acid *** ZSM-5 was used for catalytic co-cracking of n-octane and guaiacol,lowdensity polyethylene(LDPE)and alkali lignin(AL)to enhance the production of benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylene(bTEX).The most significant synergistic effect occurred at n-octane/guaiacol at 1:1 and LDPE/AL at 1:3,under the condition,the achieved bTEX selectivity were 24%and 33%(mass)higher than the calculated values(weighted average).The highest bTEX selectivity reached 88.5%,which was 3.7%and 54.2%higher than those from individual cracking LDPE and *** synthesized ZSM-5 exhibited superior catalytic performance compared to the commercial ZSM-5,indicating potential application prospect.

In the preceding paper [Commun. Theor. Phys. 51 （2009） 321] we have recommended a convenient method for disentangling exponential operators in the form of exp{b ＋ C}, trying to find an operator A that satisfies [A, b] = C, and [A, [A, b]] = 0, then from the baker-Hausdorff formula we have exp{b ＋C} ： exp（b ＋ [A, b]} = e^A e^b e^-A. After arranging e^Ae^b = e^b e^A e^W, the disentangling exp{b ＋ C} = e^b e^W is obtained. In this work we use this method to two-mode case, especially, derive the normal ordering form of exp[h（a^＋a ＋ b^＋b）＋ ga^＋b^＋＋ kab] without appealing to lie algebra method.

One of the most widely used and well-established atomic oxygen(AO)protection solutions for low Earth orbit(LEO)satellites is the deposition of protective coatings on polymeric ***,manufacturing extensive expanses of these coating materials with good transparency,flexibility,smoothness,ultra-thinness,and exceptional AO resistance remains a critical ***,we successfully deposited a 400 nm thick polyorgansiloxane(SiO_(x)C_(y)H_(z))coating with high optical transparency and uniform good adherence on to a 1.2 m wide polyimide surface,by optimizing the distribution of hexamethyldisiloxane and oxygen as precursors in the roll-to-roll compatible plasmaenhanced chemical vapor deposition *** AO irradiation with the fluence of 7.9×10^(20)atoms·cm^(–2),the erosion yield of the SiO_(x)C_(y)H_(z)-coated Kapton was less than 2.30×10^(–26)cm^3·atom^(–1),which was less than 0.77%of that of the *** indicates that the SiO_(x)C_(y)H_(z)coating can well prevent the erosion of Kapton by *** addition,it was also clarified that a SiO_(2) passivation layer was formed on the surface of the SiO_(x)C_(y)H_(z)coating during AO irradiation,which exhibited a‘self-reinforcing’defense *** entire preparation process of the SiO_(x)C_(y)H_(z)coating was highly efficient and low-cost,and it has shown great potential for applications in LEO.

bone fatigue accumulation is a factor leading to bone fracture,which is a progressive process of microdamage deteriorating under long-term and repeated *** the microdamage of the early stage in bone is difficult to be investigated by linear ultrasound,the second harmonic generation method in nonlinear ultrasound technique is employed in this paper,which is proved to be more sensitive to *** solve the deficiency that the second harmonic component is easily submerged by noise in traditional nonlinear measurement,a weighted chirp coded sinusoidal signal was applied as the ultrasonic excitation,while pulse inversion is implemented at the receiving *** effectiveness of this combination to improve the signal-to-noise ratio has been demonstrated by in vitro *** fatigue loading experiments were conducted on the cortical bone plate in vitro for microdamage *** was a significant increase in the slope of the acoustic nonlinearity parameter with the propagation distance(increased by 8%and 24%respectively)when the bone specimen was at a progressive level of *** results indicate that the coded nonlinear ultrasonic method might have the potential in diagnosing bone fatigue.

The glass-forming ability and mechanical properties of metallic glasses and their composites are well known to be sensitive to the preparation conditions and are highly deteriorated by industrial preparing conditions such as low-purity raw materials and low ***,we showed that a series of in-situ bulk metallic glass composites(bMGCs)which exhibit excellent ductility and segmental work hardening were successfully developed utilizing a high vacuum high-pressure die casting(HV-HPDC)technology along with industrial-grade raw *** tensile properties of these bMGCs are systematically investigated and correlated with the alloy *** compared with the copper mold suction casting method,the volume fraction difference of the dendrite phase for the bMGCs with the same composition is not significant when fabricated by the HV-HPDC,whereas the size of theβ-phase is generally *** bMGCs with the composition of Ti_(48)Zr_(20)(V_(12/17)Cu_(5/17))19 be 13 obtained by the HV-HPDC process show ductility up to 11.3%under tension at room temperature and exhibit a certain amount of work *** conditions need to be met to enable the bMGCs,which are prepared by vacuum die-casting to retain favorable ductility:(1)The volume fraction ofβphase stays below 62%±2%;(2)The equiaxed crystals with a more uniform size in the range of 5-10μ***,the results of the present study provided guidance for developing bMGCs with good ductile properties under industrial conditions.
