The design of a handheld capnography device is in great demand because of its effective and practical uses in all cardiac arrest resuscitations,according to the recommendation of the American Heart ***,a handheld capnography device that can be used in clinical settings and the home environment is *** proposed device was developed by using an infrared CO_(2)sensor,Arduino Mega2560,and a high-resolution display(2.8").Furthermore,two rechargeable batteries(7.6 V,0.99 A)and a secure digital card with a capacity of 16 Gb were incorporated to increase the portability and usability of the *** were implemented to measure standard features,namely,inspired CO_(2)(ICO_(2)),end-tidal CO_(2)(EtCO_(2)),and re-spiratory rate(RR).The features of 15 healthy subjects were recorded by using the developed prototype and the standard capnography device(Capnostream^(TM)20 Model CS08798).Validation was performed with b.a.d-Altman *** revealed that mean differences±standard deviations for the set limits of ICO_(2),EtCO_(2)and RR were 0.29±1.30 millimeters of mercury(mmHg),0.15±1.77 mmHg and 0.40±0.97 breaths per minute(bpm),*** of the differences among device measurements across all features fell within the 95%limits of ***,the developed device may help manage respiratory distress conditions in and outside of a hospital setting.

Solitary kinetic Alfvén waves in a dense electron–positron–ion plasma with degenerate electrons and positrons

Through the use of a reductive perturbation technique, solitary kinetic Alfvén waves（KAWs） are investigated in a low but finite b（particle-to-magnetic pressure ratio） dense electron–positron–ion plasma where electrons and positrons are degenerate. The degenerate plasma model considered here permits the existence of sub.a.fvénic compressive solitary KAWs. The influence of r（equilibrium positron-to-ion density ratio）, sF（electron-to-positron Fermi temperature ratio）, b.a.d obliqueness parameter lzon various characteristics of solitary KAWs are examined through numerical plots. We have shown that there exists a critical value of lzat which a soliton width attains its maximum value which decreases with an increase in r and *** is also found that solitons with a higher energy propagate more obliquely in the direction of an ambient magnetic field. The results of the present investigation may be useful for understanding low frequency nonlinear electromagnetic wave propagation in magnetized electron–positron–ion plasmas in dense stars. Specifically, the relevance of our investigation to a pulsar magnetosphere is emphasized.

Free radical scavenging property and antiproliferative activity of Rhodiola imbricata Edgew extracts in HT-29 human colon cancer cells

Objective:To investigate the in vitro antioxidant and antiproliferative activity of rhizome extracts of Rhodiola imbricata(***) in HT-29 human colon cancer cell ***:The successively extracted rhizome of *** using various solvents was analyzed for their total phenolics,tannins and flavonoid *** vitro antioxidant activity was evaluated by employing different assays,including DPPH,AbTS radical scavenging assays,FRAP, phosphomolybdenum reduction assay,superoxide anion,hydroxyl radical scavenging activities and metal chelating ***:Acetone and methanol extracts recorded higher phenolic content and showed comparable antioxidant activity with standard ***,they also inhibited the proliferation of HT-29 cells upon treatment at higher concentration(200μg/mL) (acetone and methanol,84%and 84%.respectively).On examination acetone extract exhibited antiproliferative activity in a concentration dependent manner whereas,methanol extract showed both dose dependent and lime dependent inhibitory ***:The results ob.a.ned justify the traditional usage of *** from their promising antioxidant activity.

Root Structure,Distribution and biomass in Five Multipurpose Tree Species of Western Himalayas

【Title】【Author】【Addresses】1The tree root distribution pattern and biomass of seventeen year old trees of Grewia optiva, Morus alba, Celtis australis, bauhinia variegata and Robinia pseudoacacia were studied by excavation method. b. variegata roots penetrated to a maximum depth of 4.78 m, whereas, M. alba roots were found down to 1.48 m depth. Lateral spread was minimum in b. variegata （1.10 m）and maximum inR. pseudoacacia （7.33 m）. Maximum root biomass of 6.30 kg was found in R. pseudoacacia and minimum （2.43 kg） was found in M. alba. For four species viz.,G. optiva, M. alba, C. australis andR. pseudoacacia, 68%-87% root biomass occurred within top 0-30 cm soil depth, but forb. variegata this was only45%. The soil binding factor was maximum in G. optiva and minimum in b. variegata. Soil physico-chemical properties also showed wide variation. The study suggests thatb. variegata with a deep root system is the most suitable species for plantation under agroforestry systems. R. pseudoacacia and G. optiva with deep root systems, more lateral spread and high soil binding factor are suitable for plantation on degraded lands for soil conservation.

Malnutrition is a highly prevalent and under recognized condition in developing countries of South *** presence of malnutrition causes a severe impact on patients with liver *** etiology of cirrhosis differs in the South Asian region compared to the West,with hepatitis b.a.d C still being the leading causes and the prevalence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease increasing over *** malnutrition worsens outcomes for cirrhosis *** attention to address malnutrition is needed to improve patient *** etiology and pathophysiology of malnutrition in liver diseases is multifactorial,as reduction in liver function affects both macronutrients and micronutrients.A need for nutritional status assessment for liver disease patients exists in all parts of the *** are many widely studied tools in use to perform a thorough nutritional assessment,of which some tools are low cost and do not require extensive *** tools can be studied and evaluated for use in the resource limited setting of a country like *** guidelines for proper nutrition maintenance in chronic liver disease exist for all parts of the world,but the knowledge and practice of nutritional counseling in Pakistan is poor,both amongst patients and *** on assessment for nutritional status at the initial visit with recording of vital signs is ***,treating physicians need to be made aware of the misconceptions surrounding nutritional restrictions in cirrhosis so that patient education is done correctly based on proper scientific evidence.

Synthesis of Schiff bases of naphtha[1,2-d]thiazol-2-amine and metal complexes of 2-(2'-hydroxy)benzylideneaminonaphthothiazole as potential antimicrob.a. agents

Objective： A series of 2-benzylideneaminonaphthothiazoles were designed and synthesized incorporating the lipophilic naphthalene ring to render them more capable of penetrating various biomemb.a.es. Methods： Schiff bases were synthesized by the reaction of naphtha[1,2-d]thiazol-2-amine with various substituted aromatic aldehydes. 2-（2＇-Hydroxy）ben- zylideneaminonaphthothiazole was converted to its Co（Ⅱ）, Ni（Ⅱ） and Cu（Ⅱ） metal complexes upon treatment with metal salts in ethanol. All the compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial activities by paper disc diffusion method with Gram positive Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis and Gram negative Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. The minimum inhibitory concentrations of all the Schiff bases and metal complexes were determined by agar streak dilution method. Results： All the compounds moderately inhibited the growth of Cram positive and Gram negative bacteria. In the present study among all Schiff bases 2-（2＇-hydroxy）benzylideneaminonaphthothiazole showed maximum inhibitory activity and among metal complexes Cu（Ⅱ） metal complex was found to be most potent. Conclusion： The results ob.a.ned validate the hypothesis that Schiff bases having substitution with halogens, hydroxyl group and nitro group at phenyl ring are required for the antibacterial activity while methoxy group at different positions in the aromatic ring has minimal role in the inhibitory activity. The results also indicated that the metal complexes are better antibacterial agents as compared to the Schiff bases.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs) have been successfully used for the alleviation of pain and inflammation in the past and continue to be used daily by millions of patients worldwide. However, gastrointestinal(GI) toxicity associated with NSAIDs is an important medical and socioeconomic problem. Local generation of various reactive oxygen species plays a significant role in the formation of gastric ulceration associated with NSAIDs therapy. Co-medication of antioxidants along with NSAIDs has been found to be beneficial in the prevention of GI injury. This paper describes the synthesis and biological evaluation of N-1-(phenylsulfonyl)-2-methylamino-substituted-1H-benzimidazole derivatives as anti-inflammatory analgesic agents with lower GI toxicity. Studies in vitro and in vivo demonstrated that the antioxidant activity of the test compounds decreased GI toxicity.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)or drones introduced for military applications are gaining popularity in several other fields as well such as security and surveillance,due to their ability to perform repetitive and tedious tasks in hazardous *** increased demand created the requirement for enabling the UAVs to traverse independently through the Three Dimensional(3D)flight environment consisting of various obstacles which have been efficiently addressed by metaheuristics in past ***,not a single optimization algorithms can solve all kind of optimization problem ***,there is dire need to integrate metaheuristic for general *** address this issue,in this paper,a novel reinforcement learning controlled Grey Wolf Optimisation-Archimedes Optimisation Algorithm(QGA)has been exhaustively introduced and exhaustively validated firstly on 22 benchmark functions and then,utilized to ob.a.n the optimum flyable path without collision for UAVs in three dimensional *** performance of the developed QGA has been compared against the various *** simulation experimental results reveal that the QGA algorithm acquire a feasible and effective flyable path more efficiently in complicated environment.

Comparisons of indoor active and passive air sampling methods for emerging and legacy halogenated flame retardants in beijing, China offices

One active and two passive air sampling configurations were deployed simultaneously in three offices in beijing,China to test their comparability for sampling emerging and legacy halogenated flame retardants spanning a large range of octanoleair partition coefficients(KOA).Sampling in each office was carried out for three consecutive 28-day periods in the spring-summer of *** active sampler was run for 2.5 h at different times every day for 28 days to parallel the passive samplers and sample a total volume comparable to that sampled by the passive samplers(~20 m^3).At the end of each 28-day sampling period,a separate active air sample was taken by running the sampler pump continuously for about 2.5 *** comparability of measured concentrations varied between the air sampling configurations and for different *** predominant compound measured in nearly all samples was bDE-209,a compound known to have heavy use in *** emerging flame retardants were also detected including DbE-DbCH,PbT,Hbb,DDC-CO,and *** little of the tetra-hexabrominated bDEs associated with the technical PentabDE product was observed.
