Field efficacy of insect pathogen, b.tanical, and jasmonic acid for the management of wheat midge sitodiplosis mosellana and the impact on adult parasitoid Macroglenes penetrans populations in spring wheat

The wheat midge, sitodiplosis mosellana, is a serious pest of wheat worldwide. In North America, management of s. mosellana in spring wheat relies on the timely application of pesticides, b.sed on midge adults lev.ls caught in pheromone traps or seen v.a field scouting during wheat heading. In this context, b.opesticides can b. an effectiv. alternativ. to pesticides for controlling s. mosellana within an Integrated Pest Management program. A field study using insect pathogenic fungus b.auv.ria b.ssiana GHA, nematode steinernema Jeltiae with b.rricade polymer gel 1%, pyrethrin, comb.ned formulations of b. b.ssiana GHA and pyrethrin, Jasmonic acid (JA) and chlorpyrifos (chemical check) was performed to determine to which extent they affect midge larv.l populations, kernel damage lev.ls, grain yield, and quality, and the impacts on adult parasitoid Macroglenes penetrans populations. The results indicated that b.opesticides JA and s. Jeltiae were the most effectiv. in reducing larv.l populations and kernel damage lev.ls, and produced a higher spring wheat yield when compared to the water control at b.th study locations (East v.lier and North v.lier, Montana, UsA). Increased test weight in wheat had b.en recorded with two prev.ous b.opesticides at East v.lier b.t not for North v.lier, when compared ov.r water control. These results were comparab.e in efficacy to the chlorpyrifos. This study also suggested that b. b.ssiana and pyrethrin may work synergistically, as exemplified b. lower total larv.l populations and kernel damage lev.ls when applied together. This study did not demonstrate the effect of any treatments on M. penetrans populations.

solid-liquid extraction of gadolinium was inv.stigated from phosphoric acid medium using commercial amino phosphonic acid resin, Tulsion CH-93. The experimental conditions studied included equilib.ation time, acid concentration, mass of the resin, metal concentration, loading and elution. The percent extraction of Gd（Ⅲ） was studied as a function of phosphoric acid （0.05-3 mol/L） using Tulsion CH-93 resin. The corresponding lgD v.. equilib.ium pH plot gav. straight line with a slope of 1.8. The percent extraction decreased with acid co centration increasing, conforming ion exchange mechanism. Under ob.erv.d experimental conditions the loading capacity of Tulsion CH-93 for gadolinium was 10.6 mg/g. Among sev.ral eluants screened, the quantitativ. elution of Gd（III） from loaded Tulsion CH-93 was ob.ained with ammonium oxalate （0.15 mol/L）. The extraction b.hav.or of commonly associated metals with gadolinium was studied as a function of phosphoric acid concentration. Tulsion CH-93 resin showed selectiv. extraction towards heav. rare earths （Lu and Yb. which could b. separated from other rare earths at 3 mol/L H3PO4, similar to wet phosphoric acid （3-5 mol/L）. On the other hand Gd（Ⅲ） and other rare earths were studied with chelating resin Tulsion CH-90. Light rare earths were highly extracted and these could b. separated from heav. rare earths and Gd.

Friction stir welding(FsW) is a promising welding process that can join age hardenab.e aluminium alloys with high joint efficiency. Howev.r,the thermal cycles experienced b. the material to b. joined during FsW resulted in the deterioration of mechanical properties due to the coarsening and dissolution of strengthening precipitates in the thermo-mechanical affected zone(TMAZ) and heat affected zone(HAZ). Under water friction stir welding(UWFsW) is a v.riant of FsW process which can maintain low heat input as well as constant heat input along the weld line. The heat conduction and dissipation during UWFsW controls the width of TMAZ and HAZ and also improv.s the joint properties. In this inv.stigation, an attempt has b.en made to ev.luate the mechanical properties and microstructural characteristics of AA2519-T87 aluminium alloy joints made b. FsW and UWFsW processes. The schottky b.rrier junction parameters and structural properties of Zr/p-GaN schottky diode are explored at v.rious annealing *** analysis showed that the b.rrier height（b.）of the Zr/pGa N schottky diode increases with annealing at 400°C（0.92 ev.I–v./1.09 e v.C–v.）compared to the asdeposited one（0.83 ev.I–v./0.93 ev.C–v.）.Howev.r,the b. decreases after annealing at 500°***,at different annealing temperatures,the series resistance and b. are assessed b. Cheung’s functions and their v.lues ***,the interface state density（Nss/of the diode decreases after annealing at 400°C and then somewhat rises upon annealing at 500°*** rev.als that the maximum b. is ob.ained at 400°C,and thus the optimum annealing temperature is 400°C for the *** XPs and XRD analysis rev.aled that the increase in b. may b. attrib.ted to the creation of Zr–N phases with increasing annealing up to 400°*** b. reduces for the diode annealed at 500°C,which may b. due to the formation of Ga–Zr phases at the *** AFM measurements rev.al that the ov.rall surface roughness of the Zr film is quite smooth during rapid annealing process.
