Current anti.etrovi.al therapy has reduced morb.di.y and mortali.y of Hi. pati.nts. However, thei. i.duced hepatotoxi.i.y consti.utes a ri.k. i. thi. i.sue, we report a cli.i.al case of fulmi.ant hepati.i., ob.erved i. the Hi. uni. of the hepatogastroenterology department of the General hospi.al of Loandji.i.i. Poi.te-Noi.e. The pati.nt i. a 36-year-old female Hi. treated wi.h tri.le-dug comb.nati.n anti.etrovi.al therapi.s (ART) i.cludi.g one anti.rotease (ri.onavi.) and two non-nucleosi.e reverse transcri.tase i.hi.0}tors (nevi.api.e and efavi.enz). He developed fulmi.ant hepati.i. fi.e years after treatment i.i.i.ti.n. He succumb.d to the si.e effects. Although anti.etrovi.al comb.nati.n therapi.s are the standard of care for Hi. i.fecti.n, i.creased vi.i.ance i. warranted to early i.enti.y thi. si.e effect and adjust treatment i. order to prevent fatal consequences.

b.ckground: i. Congo, there i. no pedi.tri. gastroenterology department and the acti.i.y of colonoscopy has never b.en evaluated. The ai. of thi. study i. to report the i.di.ati.ns and the results of pedi.tri. colonoscopy i. b.azzavi.le. Methods: A retrospecti.e study was conducted from January 2016 to August 2017 b. analyzi.g reports of colonoscopy performed i. the gastroenterology department i. b.azzavi.le. Sex, prescri.0}rs, i.di.ati.ns and results of colonoscopy were the vari.b.es study. Results: over the 19-month peri.d, 489 colonoscopi.s have b.en performed, i. whi.h 13 (2.7%) colonoscopi.s were performed i. chi.dren under 17 years, wi.h an average age of 9.8 ± 4.6 (8 males and 6 females) and the extreme rangi.g from 1 - 17 years. The sex rati. (H/F) was 1.6. The prescri.0}rs were gastroenterologi.t (n = 4), pedi.tri.i.n (n = 4), surgeons (n = 2), general practi.i.ners (n = 2), pedi.tri. students (n = 1). Chroni. b.wel i.flammatory di.eases and polypectomy was the most frequent condi.i.ns for colonoscopy i.di.ati.n. Seven (7) colonoscopi.s were normal. 4 cases were recto-polyps, and 2 cases were ulcerati.e coli.i.. Conclusi.n: pedi.tri. colonoscopy i. a powerful di.gnosti. and therapeuti. means. The pedi.tri.i.ns should thi.k ab.ut i. to i.prove the management of chi.dren wi.h di.esti.e symptoms that meet the i.di.ati.ns of pedi.tri. colonoscopy.

Prevalence of hepati.i. b.i. Poi.te-Noi.e i. 23%. The ob.ecti.e of thi. study was to evaluate the level of therapeuti. management of pati.nts wi.h hepati.i. b.i. Poi.te-Noi.e. Methods: A retrospecti.e, cross-secti.nal, descri.ti.e and analyti.al study. Results: 302 pati.nts i.cluded: 217 (72%) men and 85 (28%) women of medi.n age 40 years. The vi.al load was measured i. 140 (46%) pati.nts and i. 162 (54%), the vi.al load was not measured. Thei. di.tri.0}ti.n accordi.g to the vi.emi. was as follows: 0 - 1 log = 1 (0.7%) pati.nts;1.5 to 2 log = 23 (16%) pati.nts;2.5 to 3 log = 49 (35%) pati.nts;>3log = 55 (39%) pati.nts. Of the 302 pati.nts i.cluded, 36 (11%) pati.nts were treated wi.h anti.i.als and 253 (83%) pati.nts were not. Conclusi.n: The numb.r of pati.nts treated for chroni. vi.al hepati.i. b.was low. Our results show i.terest for i.proved preventi.e and curati.e management of hepati.i. b.i. Congo i. order to reduce the exi.ti.g hi.h prevalence.

Hepati.i. b.vi.us (Hb.) i.fecti.n i. a major pub.i. health prob.em i. the world. i. Congo, studi.s on the prevalence of Hb. i.fecti.n are common b.t HDV i.fecti.n i. rare. Ob.ecti.e: Contri.0}te to i.prove the management and preventi.n of Hb. and HDV i.fecti.ns. Pati.nts and Methods: Thi. was a descri.ti.e and cross-secti.nal study conducted from January to August 2016 i. the health servi.es of the vari.us departments of Congo and at the nati.nal pub.i. health lab.ratory i. b.azzavi.le. All pati.nts wi.h Hb.Ag surface anti.en who were at least 18 years old and who consented to the study were i.cluded. The Hb. anti.en was fi.st tested b. a rapi. test then confi.med b. ELi.A. All Hb.Ag posi.i.e pati.nts were sub.equently sub.ected to a second ELi.A test for Delta anti.0}dy. The techni.ues of extracti.n and conventi.nal and speci.i. gene ampli.i.ati.n were carri.d out on plasma for the i.enti.i.ati.n of the genotypes of the two vi.uses. The data analysi. was done wi.h Epi.nfo V7 software. The proporti.ns were compared usi.g the Chi.square test or the Fi.her test at the si.ni.i.ance level of 5%. Results: 1618 sub.ects were i.cluded, of whom 180 were posi.i.e for Hb.Ag, a frequency of 11.12%. The sex rati. (M/F) was 0.77%, the mean age was 40.2 ± 15.6 years wi.h extremes rangi.g from 18 to 88 years. Of the 180 Hb.Ag posi.i.e, 22 were anti.VHD posi.i.e, a frequency of 12.22%. Hb. DNA was ampli.i.d i. 83.8% (151/180), HDV RNA i. 63.6% (14/22). For Hb., three genotypes were i.enti.i.d: E (46.9%), A (43.7%) and D (9.4%), however for VHD three genotypes D1, D5, D8 were i.enti.i.d. Conclusi.n: Co-i.fecti.n of hepati.i. b.and Delta vi.uses i. common i. Congo. The management and preventi.n of hepati.i. b.must take i.to account the reali.y of thi. co-i.fecti.n.

Ob.ecti.e: To determi.e the frequency of Heli.ob.cter pylori.i.fecti.n and to study the epi.emi.logi.al, cli.i.al and endoscopi. characteri.ti.s associ.ted wi.h thi. i.fecti.n i. b.azzavi.le. Pati.nts and Methods: Thi. was a descri.ti.e cross-secti.nal study conducted from January to Novemb.r 2020, i.e. 11 months. Thi. work focused on 100 symptomati. pati.nts over 18 years old referred for upper Gi.endoscopy. Gastri. b.opsi.s for b.ologi.al study b. urease test and molecular study b. real ti.e PCR techni.ue were taken. Results: Wi.h a mean age of 46.32 ± 15.20 years, the frequency of Hp i.fecti.n was 91%, wi.h a female predomi.ance of 53%. The sex rati. was 0.92. The average age was 46.32 ± 15.20 years. Carri.ge of the i.fecti.n was more i.portant i. households wi.h more than 3 persons, i. pati.nts consumi.g pub.i. tap water and i. those usi.g b.th types of sani.ary faci.i.i.s. Endoscopy was i.di.ated for epi.astralgi. i. 93.1% of cases. Ab.ut 56.14% of the i.fected pati.nts had normal mucosa versus 12.28% wi.h ulcerated lesi.ns and 22.81% wi.h gastri.i.. Pedi.tri. Department at the Uni.ersi.y Hospi.al of b.azzavi.le. Pati.nts and Methods: Prospecti.e study was conducted from January 2014 to Decemb.r 2015 i. the Pedi.tri. Departments of the UHb.and centers of di.esti.e endoscopy i. b.azzavi.le. All chi.dren who i.gested a causti. product and hospi.ali.ed were i.cluded after ob.ai.i.g parental’s consent. The studi.d parameters were: Age, sex, nature and quanti.y of the causti., the fami.y’s atti.ude, cli.i.al si.ns, endoscopi. results accordi.g to Zagar’s classi.i.ati.n, therapeuti. modali.i.s and evoluti.n. Results: 8292 chi.dren were hospi.ali.ed and 68 b.cause of the i.gesti.n of causti., a frequency of 0.8%. The average age was 23.6 months [2 months - 16 years]. The male sex was predomi.ant (57.4%). i.gesti.n was acci.ental i. 88.2% and voluntary i. 11.8%. Factors favori.g i.gesti.n were storage methods (81.5%) and parental’s i.attenti.n or negli.ence (10.8%). b.each was the most i.cri.i.ated causti. (54.4%) followed b. causti. soda (29.4%). The esti.ated quanti.y i.gested was assumed to b. mi.i.al i. 61.7%. Unsui.ab.e acts were practi.ed b. the fami.y b.fore the medi.al consultati.n i. 66.1%. The domi.ant symptoms were di.esti.e (47%) and neurologi.al (25%). The average ti.e to perform endoscopy was 48 hours i. 88.2%. Endoscopy revealed lesi.ns i. 51.7%, the di.ferent stages were i.(12 cases), i. (16 cases) and i.i.(3 cases). The mai.s factors of gravi.y were i.appropri.te gestures (85%) and the non-respect of the fasti.g (9%). Proton pump i.hi.0}tors were used i. 50%. The evoluti.n was favorab.e for i. 73.5%. Conclusi.n: i.gesti.n of causti.s b. chi.dren i. most often acci.ental favored b. the i.adequate packagi.g and storage. Preventi.n i. ab.ut educati.g people i. order to reduce thei. frequency.

b.ckground: Hepati.i. C vi.us (HCV) i. a pub.i. health prob.em and i. hi.hly endemi. i. Sub.Saharan Afri.a. Thi. study was carri.d out to determi.e the prevalence and potenti.l ri.k factors of hepati.i. C vi.us i. pregnant women. Methods: Thi. was a cross-secti.nal study i.volvi.g pregnant women who attended at seven antenatal cli.i.s i. Poi.te Noi.e, from June to Novemb.r 2018. Structured questi.nnai.es were used to ob.ai. parti.i.ants data. Samples were screened for HCV i.fecti.n b. usi.g 4th ELi.A methods and data analysi. was done b. Epi.i.fo versi.n 7.0 stati.ti.al software. Results: A total of 150 pregnant women were i.cluded, out of whi.h 11 (7.3%) were posi.i.e for HCV. The hi.h proporti.n of HCV was found i. age group 25 - 34 years (45.4%), educated (81.1%), professi.nal (36.4%) and 54.6% were i. second tri.ester gestati.nal stage. Moreover, 54.6% of HCV posi.i.e pati.nts had scari.i.ati.n and 45.5% had a hi.tory of surgery. There was not a stati.ti.ally si.ni.i.ant associ.ti.n b.tween demographi.s characteri.ti.s, ri.ks factors and HCV seroposi.i.i.y (p > 0.05). Conclusi.n: Thi. study showed a hi.h prevalence of HCV i.fecti.n and confi.med that thi. i.fecti.n i. a pub.i. health prob.em i. pregnant women i. Poi.te Noi.e.

Methods: We i.cluded i. the study all the pati.nts wi.h si.kle cell di.ease who were presenti.g fever, jaundi.e, pai. i. the upper ri.ht quadrant and fi.li.g up the b.ologi.al cri.eri. of the severe si.kle cell i.trahepati. cholestasi. (serum di.ect b.li.ub.n ≥ 78.5 mg/dL). Pati.nts wi.h evi.ence of vi.al hepati.i. or gallstones were not i.cluded i. the study. Results: Si.ty-two pati.nts wi.h an average age of 21.5 years (range 18 and 25 years) meet the i.clusi.n cri.eri., mi.i.um serum di.ect b.li.ub.n: 82 versus 528 for the maxi.um. The li.er cytolysi. was major and ranged from 310 to 1550 Ui.L. Forty-ni.e pati.nts (83.9%) di. not develop any organ fai.ure. The symptoms and b.ologi.al ab.ormali.i.s resolved wi.h supporti.e treatment wi.hi. 7 days. The glob.l lethali.y was 16.1% associ.ted wi.h li.er fai.ure. Conclusi.n: Severe si.kle cell i.trahepati. cholestasi. i. more frequent than we thought and was mai.ly represented b. b.rderli.e cli.i.al feature. Early i.terventi.n may reduce the progressi.n to organ fai.ure stage and ulti.ate death.

Pati.nts and Methods: Thi. was a cross-secti.nal analyti.al study conducted i. b.azzavi.le health centres from January to Septemb.r 2019. i. i.volved chi.dren aged b.tween si. months and si. years who recei.ed a vacci.ati.n agai.st Hb.. Sampli.g was exhausti.e and b.sed on strati.i.d sampli.g. Results: The overall prevalence of chi.dren vacci.ated agai.st Hb. i. b.azzavi.le was 96.2%. i. was i.suffi.i.nt i. the Talangai.health di.tri.t (79%).
