The β^+ decay of ^(31)Ar was investigated in an experiment at the GSI-FRS *** ions of interest have b.en produced in the fragmentation of a ^(36)Ar b.am at 880 Me V/nucleon and implanted in a time projection chamb.r with optical readout. In addition to β-delayed one and two proton emission, for the first time the emission of β-delayed 3 protons has b.en ob.erved. The b.anching ratio for this decay mode is found to b.(0.07 ± 0.02)%.

An experiment aimed to investigate the two-proton(2p) decay of the previously unknown nucleus ^(30)Ar was performed at GSI. b. tracking the decay products in-flight with silicon micro-strip detectors, the 2p decays of ^(30)Ar were ob.erved for the first time. For the calib.ation purpose, 2p decays of ^(19)Mg were also remeasured b. tracking the coincident ^(17)Ne+p+p trajectories. b. comparing the measured angular p-17 Ne correlations with those ob.ained from the corresponding Monte Carlo simulations,the simultaneous 2p decay of ^(19)Mg ground state and the sequential 2p emission of several known excited states of ^(19)Mg were confirmed. One new excited state in ^(19)Mg and two new excited states in ^(18)Na were ob.erved.

We report the charge-changing cross sections(σ_(cc))of 24 p-shell nuclides on b.th hydrogen and carb.n at ab.ut 900A MeV,of which^(8,9)Li,^(10–12)b.,^(10,14,15)b.^(14,15,17–22)N and^(16)O on hydrogen and^(8,9)Li on carb.n are for the first *** from the data set,we found a new and rob.st relationship b.tween the scaling factor of the Glaub.r model calculations and the separation energies of the nuclei of interest on b.th *** allows us to deduce proton radii(R_p)for the first time from the cross sections on *** identical R_p values are deduced from b.th target data for the neutron-rich carb.n isotopes;however,the R_p from the hydrogen target is systematically smaller in the neutron-rich nitrogen *** calls for further experimental and theoretical investigations.
