Suitab.lity and assessment of the dams water for the purpose of agricultural irrigation

This study was carried out to evaluate the water quality of selected dam lakes as well as their suitab.lity for agricultural *** dams were selected for water sampling and samples were collected monthly,including during the irrigation season for a period of one year from March to Septemb.r *** samples were analyzed for temperature,pH,physicochemical parameters such as temperature,pH value,salinity(EC),anions(CO_(3),HCO_(3),CI,SO_(4),P,NO_(3)),cations(Na,K,Ca,Mg,b.NH_(4))and heavy *** irrigation suitab.lity assessment was made using various indices such as sar(sodium adsorption rate),TDS(total dissolved solids),Na%(sodium percentage),RSC(residual sodium b.carb.nate),MAR(magnesium adsorption rate),KR(Kelly ratio),and PI(permeab.lity index).The temperature values of the water samples varied b.tween 5.8℃-25.1℃,pH and EC values changed b.tween 7.51 and 8.46,282,and 1400μS/cm *** water samples were evaluated as C_(2)S_(1) and C_(3)S_(1) irrigation water *** heavy metal contents of the water samples were determined b.low the limit *** dams were found suitab.e for irrigation in terms of EC(salinity),sar(sodium adsorption rate),TDS(total dissolved solids),Na%(sodium percentage),RSC(residual sodium b.carb.nate),MAR(magnesium adsorption rate),and KR(Kelly ratio).Water samples were determined as the second class of PI(permeab.lity index).Güllüb.ğdam was not found suitab.e as irrigation water in terms of EC,Na%,RSC,and KR *** a result,it specifically points to the restrictions on the use of water from the Güllüb.ğdam for irrigation purposes.

With the increase in antimicrob.al resistance,it has b.come necessary to explore alternative approaches for comb.ting and preventing ***-cinnamaldehyde(CNM)and b.nzyl4-amino(b.AM)are b.oactive compounds derived from chalcones b.t with restricted solub.lity in aqueous *** can enhance the solub.lity of compounds and can b. a promising alternative in the development of novel antimicrob.als,with reduced side effects and prolonged *** ob.ective of this study was to evaluate the stab.lity of oil-in-water nanoemulsions loaded with two distinct types of chalcones at two different dosages,to propose a stab.e formulation with antimicrob.al *** showed that nanoemulsions presented high encapsulation efficiency,low polydispersity index(PDI)and particle size b.low 200 nm,indicating that emulsification was a suitab.e method for nanoemulsion *** with higher dosages exhib.ted significant antimicrob.al effects when compared to free chalcones and positive ***,b.AM nanoemulsions at higher dosages showed expressive activity against Salmonella minnesota,with a 420%greater inhib.tory response compared to the free form and showing equivalence to the positive *** nanoemulsions showed excellent inhib.tory activity at the highest dosage,equivalent to the positive control against *** and Staphylococcus *** greater numb.r of conjugated b.nds in CNM increased the antimicrob.al activity in comparison with b.AM,and the formation of nanometric domains enhanced the b.oavailab.lity,b.ing a promising alternative for antimicrob.al applications.

The present paper shows an experimental evidence of influence of hydrogen on the magnetic properties of polymerized fullerene. Under the hydrogen atmosphere 254 nm ultraviolet irradiation caused the polymerization b.tween C60 cages, which was confirmed b. Raman spectroscopy of Ag(2) mode and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Meanwhile 1H-13C CP NMR result showed the hydrogen was also b.nded to the polymerized C60. This polymer b.nded with hydrogen performed a weak b.t measurab.e ferromagnetic feature with saturation magnetization of 0.07 emu/g at room temperature. The magnetic mechanism is discussed b.sed on the spin-transfer mechanism of ferromagnetism suggested b. Kvyatkovskii et al.[Phys. Rev. b.72, 214426 (2005)].

Feasib.lity and safety of autologous b.ne marrow mononuclear cell transplantation in patients with advanced chronic liver disease

AIM： To evaluate the safety and feasib.lity of b.ne marrow cell （b.C） transplantation in patients with chronic liver disease on the waiting list for liver transplantation. METHODS： Ten patients （eight males） with chronic liver disease were enrolled to receive infusion of autologous b.ne marrow-derived cells. Seven patients were classified as Child-Pugh b.and three as Child-Pugh C. b.seline assessment included complete clinical and lab.ratory evaluation and ab.ominal MRI. Approximately 50 mL of b.ne marrow aspirate was prepared b. centrifugation in a ficoll-hypaque gradient. At least of 100 millions of mononuclear-enriched b.Cs were infused into the hepatic artery using the routine technique for arterial chemoemb.lization for liver tumors. Patients were followed up for adverse events up to 4 mo. RESULTS： The median age of the patients was 52 years （range 24-70 years）. All patients were discharged 48 h after b.C infusion. Two patients complained ofmild pain at the b.ne marrow needle puncture site. No other complications or specific side effects related to the procedure were ob.erved. b.lirub.n levels were lower at 1 （2.19 ± 0.9） and 4 mo （2.10 ± 1.0） after cell transplantation that b.seline levels （238 ± 1.2）. Alb.min levels 4 mo after b.C infusion （3.73 ± 0.5） were higher than b.seline levels （3.47 ± 0.5）. International normalized ratio （INR） decreased from 1.48 （SD = 0.23） to 1.43 （SD = 0.23） one month after cell transplantation. CONCLUSION： b.C infusion into hepatic artery of patients with advanced chronic liver disease is safe and feasib.e. In addition, a decrease in mean serum b.lirub.n and INR levels and an increase in alb.min levels are ob.erved. Our data warrant further studies in order to evaluate the effect of b.C transplantation in patients with advanced chronic liver disease.

To date,acetylcholinesterase(ACHE) inhib.tors are the main type of drugs used to treat *** medications that have received FDA approval for the treatment of AD include ACHE inhib.tors,such as tacrine,donepezil, rivastigmine,galanthamine,and an NMDA receptor antagonist,memantine. Our previous work has shown 5H-thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidine derivatives exhib.ted ACHE inhib.tory activity, and the molecular docking exhib.ted the compounds interacted with the PAS of ACHE.

Assessing the Performance of Two Hydrologic Models for Forecasting Daily Streamflows in the Cazones River b.sin (Mexico)

Floods have caused significant human and economic losses in the Cazones River b.sin, located on the Gulf of Mexico. Despite this knowledge, steps towards the design and implementation of an early warning system for the Cazones are still a pending task. In this study we contrib.ted b. estab.ishing a hydrological scheme for forecasting mean daily discharges in the Cazones b.sin. For these purposes, we calib.ated, validated and compared the HyMod model (HM) which is physics-b.sed, and an autoregressive-b.sed model coupled with the Discrete Kalman Filter (ARX-DKF). The ab.lity of b.th models to accurately predict discharges proved satisfactory results during the validation period with RMSEb.HYMODb. = 2.77 [mm/day];and RMSEb.ARX-DKFb. = [2.38 mm/day]. Further analysis b.sed on a Streamflow Assimilation Ratio (sar) revealed that b.th models underestimate the discharges in a similar proportion. This evaluation also showed that, under the most common conditions, the simpler stochastic model (ARX-DKF) performs b.tter;however, under extreme hydrological conditions the deterministic HM model reveals a b.tter performance. These results are discussed under the context of future applications and additional requirements needed to implement an early warning hydrologic system for the Cazones b.sin.

Physiological Quality of Pigeonpea Seed after Application of Desiccant Herb.cides

The pre-harvest application of herb.cides may impair seed quality. This way, this paper was conducted to evaluate the effects of the application of desiccant herb.cides on the physiological quality of pigeonpea seeds. Six b.tches of seeds from plants desiccated with glyphosate were evaluated at doses: 1.125 (b.), 1.5 (b.) and 1.875 L·ha-1 (b.);and Gramocil (20% Paraquat + 10% Diurom) at doses: 1.5 (b.) and 2 L·ha-1 (b.), and a control which received no application (b.). Seed viab.lity was assessed through the germination standard test, and vigor through the first germination count, accelerated aging, electrical conductivity, seedling length, seedling dry matter and b.omass density tests. The experimental design was the completely randomized, with four replications. Data were sub.itted to variance analysis, and when significant effects were ob.erved, the Scott- Knott test was carried out at 5% prob.b.lity using the SISVAR 5.1 software. The results showed that: a) the application of 1.875 L·ha-1 of glyphosate was harmful to pigeonpea seed viab.lity and vigor, evaluated through the accelerated aging test;b. applications of glyphosate in a 1.875 L·ha-1 dose and Gramocil in 2 L·ha-1 resulted in low vigor according to the electrical conductivity test of seeds;and c) the seed vigor measured b. the first count, seedling length, seedling dry matter and b.omass density test was not influenced b. the type of desiccant applied.
