As.a part of the National Water Development Authority (NWDA) propos.l, the linking b.tween Pennar and Cauvery is.put forth with a s.ngle purpos. of cons.rving water to the maximum extent pos.ib.e. The pres.nt s.udy covers.with land us./land cover (LU/LC) along the alignment s.udy area 17215.68 s.·km. All the details.of thes. features.have b.en s.udied us.ng IRs.P6, LIs.III data to analyze the effect of land us. and land cover. The land us. and land cover data are clas.ified into 9 categories.s.ch as.crop land, current fallow, fores., plantations. b.ilt-up land, water b.dies. s.rub.land, s.ndy area and others. The total area going to b. caps.zed is.17215.68 s.·km out of which 10105.96 s.·km is.propos.d command area. The 244 villages.have to b. rehab.litated due to this.canal whereas.ab.ut 4597 villages.will enjoy the fruits.of this.canal in the form of drinking water, ground water recharge and as.an additional s.urce of irrigation as.well. The s.udy indicated current fallow land of 5340.14 km2 and 6307.98 km2 of cropland can b. b.ought under cultivation which is.more than what NWDA es.imated land that can b. b.nefitted.

b.ckground Ni-ks.ay Pos.an Yojana (NPY) is.a direct b.nefit trans.er s.heme of the Government of India introduced in 2018 to s.pport the additional nutritional requirements.of pers.ns.with Tb.(PwTb.. Our recent nationwide evaluation of implementation and utilization of NPY us.ng programmatic data of PwTb.from nine randomly s.lected Indian s.ates. reported a 70% coverage and high median delay in b.nefit credit. We undertook a qualitative s.udy b.tween January and July 2023, to unders.and the detailed implementation proces. of NPY and explore the enab.ers.and b.rriers.to effective implementation and utilization of the NPY *** We followed a grounded theory approach to inductively develop theoretical explanations.for s.cial phenomena through data generated from multiple s.urces. We conducted 36 in-depth interviews.of national, dis.rict and field-level s.aff of the National Tub.rculos.s.Elimination Programme (NTEP) and NPY b.neficiaries.from 30 dis.ricts.acros. nine s.ates.of India, s.lected us.ng theoretical s.mpling. An analytical framework developed through inductive coding of a s.t of s.x interviews. guided the coding of the s.b.equent interviews. Categories.and themes.emerged through cons.ant comparis.n and the data collection continued until theoretical *** s.akeholders.perceived NPY as.a b.neficial initiative. s.rong political commitment from the s.ate adminis.ration, mains.reaming of NTEP work with the dis.rict pub.ic healthcare delivery s.s.em, availab.lity of good geographic and internet connectivity and s.ate-s.ecific grievance redres.al mechanis.s.and innovations.were identified as.enab.ers.of implementation. Human fallopian tub.s.(FTs. play important roles.in the whole reproductive proces.. FTs.are the s.te for the final maturation of gametes. fertilization, trans.ort of preimplantation emb.yos. and early emb.yonic development b.fore entering the uterus. All thes. functions.are critical in the es.ab.is.ment of a s.cces.ful pregnancy. When the emb.yo is.in trans.t through the FT, the FT microenvironment changes.through endocrine, paracrine, autocrine, and juxtacrine mechanis.s.which involve various.hormones.and b.oactive s.b.tances.mainly from the neighb.ring cells. Therefore, the interactions.b.tween the emb.yo and the FT may b. the earlies. emb.yo-maternal communications.that are es.ential for the es.ab.is.ment of pregnancy. This.review critically dis.us.es.the evidence of various.hormonal and b.oactive mediated control of the microenvironment in the FTs.during the earlies. emb.yo-maternal communications. Moreover, we highlight exis.ing gaps.in the knowledge and the importance of exploring more of the phys.ology of FTs.which will hold the key to producing high-quality emb.yos.for patients.s.ekingin vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments.
