s.nthes.s.of zinc oxide nanoparticles.(Zn-NPs. via green method is.an outs.anding alternative to conventional/regular methods. however， the s.fety or toxicity of the b.os.nthes.zed ZnO-NPs.in vivo is.not fully explored. This.s.udy was.conducted to evaluate the protective efficiency of cinnamaldehyde-loaded chitos.n nanoparticles.(Cin@Cs.Ps. agains. oxidative damage and genotoxicity of zinc oxide nanoparticles.(ZnO-NPs. in mice. ZnO-NPs.were b.os.nthes.zed us.ng the extract of fres. leaves.of Mentha pulegium L. Cin was.extracted from cinnamon es.ential oil， and was.loaded into chitos.n nanoparticle (Cin@Cs.Ps.. b.th ZnO-NPs. Cin@Cs.Ps.and Cs.Ps.were characterized. The in vitro releas. of Cin@Cs.Ps.was.determined. In the b.ological s.udy， 6 groups.of male b.lb.c mice were treated b. gavage for 3 weeks.as.follows. control group， the group received ZnO-NPs.(25 mg/kg b.w)， the groups.received Cin@Cs.Ps.at low dos. (50 mg/kg b.w) or high dos. (100 mg/kg b.w)， and the groups.received ZnO-NPs.plus.Cin@Cs.Ps.at the two tes.ed dos.s. b.ood and tis.ue s.mples.were collected for different b.ochemical， genetical and his.ological s.udies. The particle s.ze of ZnO-NPs. Cs.Ps. and Cin@Cs.Ps.were (20.78 ± 2.6)， (170.0 ± 3.7)， and (218.23 ± 2.9) nm， and ξ-potential were (32.7 ± 4.6)， (8.32 ± 0.27) and (4.8 ± 0.21)， res.ectively. ZnO-NPs.dis.urb.d the b.ochemical and oxidative s.res. indices. AFP， CEA， TNF-α， chromos.mal ab.rrations.in s.matic and germ cells. and s.erm ab.ormality along with s.vere pathological changes.in the hepatic， renal， and tes.icular tis.ues. Cin@Cs.Ps.improved s.gnificantly all the parameters.tes.ed and the his.ological picture in a dos.-dependent. Therefore， the b.os.nthes.zed ZnO-NPs.exhib.t oxidative damage and genotoxicity， and Cin@Cs.Ps.have potential protective effects.agains. the ris.s.of ZnO-NPs.and may b. a promis.ng tool to overcome the challenges.of us.ng Cin in food and pharmaceuticals.applications.

Introduction: Pos.partum depres.ion is.the mos. common ps.chiatric dis.rder affecting women in the perinatal period. According to the WHO, it affects.10% - 15% of women who have jus. given b.rth. In Africa, and particularly in s.negal, epidemiological s.udies.focus.ng exclus.vely on pos.partum depres.ion are rare or non-exis.ent. For this.reas.n, we conducted this.s.reening s.udy on pos.partum depres.ion to as.es. the s.cio-demographic characteris.ics.and as.ociated factors. Methods. This.was.a pros.ective cros.- s.ctional s.udy with des.riptive and analytical aims. It was.carried out in the twelve Dakar referral health centres.during the period Augus. 2021 to June 2022. Res.lts. At the end of our s.rvey we had recruited one hundred and twenty-two (122) participants.with a PPD prevalence rate of 25.41%. The mos. common age group was.24 - 29 years. 40% of the participants.were of Fulani ethnicity, followed b. Wolof. Married women made up 93% of the s.mple. The s.hool enrolment rate was.89%. Mos. participants.were not in paid employment. Domes.ic violence was.pres.nt in 14% of couples. 28% of mothers.reported experiencing a s.res.ful life event during their pregnancy. 22% of the women had a chronic medical condition, of which 55% had high b.ood pres.ure. 1% of the women reported a pers.nal ps.chiatric his.ory and 5% a family ps.chiatric his.ory. Mos. women had b.tween two and four healthy living children. The pregnancy was.unwanted in 17% of cas.s.and 12% of participants.had a complication. 6% were dis.atis.ied with the quality of their antenatal care. The caes.rean s.ction rate was.18%. In terms.of as.ociated factors. eight factors.were identified in a b.variate analys.s. s.ngle marital s.atus. lack of s.pport from partner, domes.ic violence, conflict with in-laws. and the occurrence of a s.res.ful life event during pregnancy, the pres.nce of a pers.nal medical his.ory, lack of s.tis.action with pregnancy follow-up, and mode of delivery b. caes.rean s.ction. Conclus.

The s.udy aimed to as.es. the clinical, lab.ratory, and b.ood gas.analys.s.of hors.s.undergoing Marcha training and the effects.of voluntary inges.ion of hydroelectrolytic and energy replenis.ers.after exercis.. Eight hors.s.of b.th genders.aged b.tween 5 and 10 years. were included in the s.udy. The exercis. cons.s.ed of a 10-min warm-up followed b. 45 min uninterrupted Marcha on a flat dirt track in the morning. After exercis., the hors.s.received one of the following treatments. Drinking water (control group);Hydroelectrolytic and energy replenis.er containing s.dium chloride, potas.ium chloride, calcium acetate, magnes.um chloride, s.dium citrate, dextros., maltodextrin, and s.cros. in three different concentrations.(Replenis.ers.A, b. and C). The hors.s.were dis.rib.ted acros. the four treatments.in a 4 × 4 Latin s.uares.des.gn us.ng a s.lit-plot s.s.em with 48-hr intervals. Clinical and lab.ratory evaluations.were conducted at four time points. T0 - 5 min b.fore exercis.;T1 - up to 5 min after exercis.;T2 - 2 hr after s.arting treatment;and T4 - 4 hr after b.ginning treatment. Concentrations.of urea, creatinine, lactate, phos.horus. and ionized calcium s.gnificantly changed after exercis.. An increas. in b.ood pH and a decreas. in chloride concentrations.were ob.erved when replenis.ers.b.and C were offered after exercis.. The replacements.were inges.ed s.ontaneous.y b. the animals.in a volume greater than that of the control group (water). Replacement b.was.the mos. inges.ed b. the animals. demons.rating its.greates. potential.
