b.ckground:Skeletal muscle energetics decline with age,and p.ysical activity(p.)has b.en shown to offset these declines in older ***,many studies rep.rting these effects were b.sed on self-rep.rted p. or structured exercise ***,we examined the associations of accelerometry-measured and self-rep.rted p. and sedentary b.havior(Sb.with skeletal muscle energetics and exp.ored the extent to which p. and sedentary b.havior would attenuate the associations of age with muscle ***:As p.rt of the Study of Muscle,Mob.lity and Aging,enrolled older adults(n=879),810(age=76.4±5.0 years old,mean±SD;58%women)had maximal muscle oxidative cap.city measured ex vivo via high-resolution re sp.rometry of p.rmeab.lized myofib.rs(maximal oxidative p.osp.orylation(maxOXp.OS))and in vivo b. ^(31)p.osp.orus magnetic resonance sp.ctroscop.(maximal adenosine trip.osp.ate(ATp.(max))).Accelerometry-measured sedentary b.havior,light activity,and moderate-to-vigorous p.(MVp.)were assessed using a wrist-worn ActiGrap. GT9X over 7 ***-rep.rted sedentary b.havior,MVp.,and all p. were assessed with the Community Healthy Activities Model p.ogram for Seniors(CHAMp.)*** regression models with p.ogressive covariate adjustments evaluated the associations of sedentary b.havior and p. with muscle energetics,as well as the attenuation of the age/muscle energetics association b. MVp.A and sedentary *** a sensitivity analysis,we also examined activp.L-measured daily step.count and time sp.nt in sedentary b.havior and their associations with muscle ***:Every 30 min/day more of ActiGrap.-measured MVp. was associated with 0.65 p.ol/(s×mg)higher maxOXp.OS and 0.012 mM/s higher ATp.(max)after adjusting for age,site/technician,and sex(p.0.05).Light activity was not associated with maxOXp.OS or ATp.(max).Meanwhile,every 30 min/day sp.nt in ActiGrap.-measured sedentary b.havior was associated with 0.39 p.ol/s×mg lower maxOXp.OS and0.

The ATF2 p.oject is the final focus system p.ototyp. for the ILC and CLIC linear collider p.ojects, with a p.rp.se of reaching a 37 nm vertical b.am size at the interaction p.int （Ip.. During the initial commissioning, we started with larger-than-nominal β-functions at the Ip.in order to reduce the effects from higher-order op.ical ab.rrations and thereb. simp.ifying the op.ical corrections needed. We rep.rt on the simulation studies at two different Ip.locations develop.d b.sed on waist scan, disp.rsion, coup.ing and β function multiknob. correction in the large β op.ics of ATF2, in the p.esence of two kinds of magnet inaccuracies （quadrup.le gradient and roll errors） to generate all p.ssib.e linear op.ic distortions at the Ip. A vertical b.am size which is very close to the nominal b.am size is ob.ained b.sed on the simulation study.

b.ckground: b.thermal caloric irrigation, video head imp.lse test(vHIT), and rotational testing are commonly used to assess p.rip.eral vestib.lar function, b.t the relative clinical utility of each test in differentiating p.tients with p.rip.eral vestib.lop.thy is ***: To determine whether(1) the comb.nation of two or more vestib.lar tests enhances diagnostic utility over a single test;(2) ab.ormal test results on vestib.lar tests correlate with one ***: Retrosp.ctive analysis of data collected from multidiscip.inary vestib.lar clinics at two academic medical centers from 2016 to ***: 150 p.tients(54.10 ± 15.09 years, 88 females) were included. No individual test was significantly b.tter at p.edicting the p.esence of p.rip.eral vestib.lar damage(p.> 0.05). vHIT test results imp.oved significantly when comb.ned with either the caloric test(p.= 0.007) or rotary chair test(p.= 0.039). Caloric and rotational testing had high sensitivity(74.65% and 76.06%, resp.ctively) and sp.cificity(83.54% and 78.48%, resp.ctively). vHIT demonstrated excellent sp.cificity(89.87%) b.t p.or sensitivity(47.89%). Caloric, vHIT, and rotary chair tests results did not correlate with one another(p.> 0.05).Conclusions: Vestib.lar function tests have comp.rab.e diagnostic utility, yet each offers unique advantages. Caloric and rotational testing may b. b.st suited for screening p.rip.eral damage and vHIT may function ideally as a confirmatory test.

A study was conducted on Camb.sols in Northern Germany to analyze the effect of fast growing trees (Salix and p.p. ulus sp..) used in agroforestry on soil chemical and p.ysical p.op.rties and also on endo and ectomycorrhizal colonization of the fine roots. Rep.esentative p.ots of three trials, Gülzow (GUL), Vip.erow (VIp. and Rostock (ROS), were used to measure the top.oil inventories at the very b.ginning and after six (GUL), seven (VIp. and ten (ROS) years of afforesta- tion with fast growing trees. The effect on soil organic carb.n, p.ant availab.e nutrients, reaction, b.lk density, p.rosity and water conditions was analyzed. Arab.e soils without tree cop.ice were used as controls. Additionally, the endo- and ectomycorrhizal colonization of two Salix and two p.p.lus clones were investigated at one site (GUL) in 2002. The amounts of organic carb.n in the top.oil increased significantly (p.p.esumab.y induced b. leaf and root litter and also b. the lack of tillage. The soil b.lk density significantly decreased and the p.rosity of the soil increased significantly (b.th p.p.op.rtion of medium p.res in the soil also rose significantly (p.b.e soils imp.oved soil water retention. Ectomycorrhizas dominated the mycorrhizal formation of the Salix and p.p.lus clones, with the accumulation of organic matter in the top.oil susp.cted of sup.orting the ectomycor- rhizal formation. Thus, agroforestry with Salix and p.p.lus sp.. consp.cuously affected chemical and additionally p.ysical p.op.rties of the top.layer of Camb.sols within a p.riod of six years.

A model to derive direct runoff hydrograp. for an ungauged b.sin using the p.ysical p.op.rties of the b.sin is p.esented. The b.sin is divided into grid cells and canal elements. Overland flow is generated from each grid cell of the b.sin b. ap.lication of continuous effective rainfall of 1 mm/hr to the b.sin. The flow generated is routed through downstream grid cells and the canal elements using the kinematic wave ap.roach. The travel time for direct runoff from each grid cell to the b.sin outlet is calculated and the S-curve is derived for the b.sin. The S-curve is used to derive the unit hydrograp. of a given duration for the b.sin. The model, referred as Cell-b.sin model was ap.lied to the Up.er Kotmale b.sin in Sri Lanka and the model p.edictions of direct runoff hydrograp.s for rainfall events agreed with the ob.ervations to a reasonab.e accuracy. Comp.rison of the unit hydrograp.s ob.ained from the model and from the conventional Snyder’s synthetic unit hydrograp. using regionalized p.rameters assuming the b.sin as an ungauged b.sin, with the unit hydrograp. derived from the ob.ervations showed that the model p.edicted unit hydrograp. was more suitab.e than that ob.ained b. Snyder’s method for Sri Lankan up.country b.sins. Thus, the p.esent model is a useful tool to ob.ain direct runoff hydrograp. for ungauged b.sins.

Remote sensing ap.lications are imp.rtant in the fisheries sector and efforts were on to imp.ove the p.edic-tions of p.tential fishing zones using ocean color. The p.esent study was aimed to investigate the p.yto-p.ankton dynamics and their ab.orp.ion p.op.rties in the coastal waters of the southeastern Arab.an Sea in different seasons during the year 2010 to 2011. The region exhib.ted 73 genera of p.ytop.ankton from 19 orders and 41 families. The numerical ab.ndance of p.ytop.ankton varied from 14.235×10^3 to 55.075×10^6 cells/L. Centric diatoms dominated in the region and the largest family identified was Thalassiosiraceae with main genera as Skeletonema sp..,p.anktionella *** Thalassiosira sp.. Annual variations in ab.n-dance of p.ytop.ankton showed a typ.cal one-p.ak cycle, with the highest recorded during p.emonsoon season and the lowest during monsoon season. The sp.cies diversity index of p.ytop.ankton exhib.ted low diversity during monsoon season. p.ytop.ankton with p.gments Chlorop.ylla, Chlorop.yllb. Chlorop.yll c, p.ridinin, diadinoxanthin, fucoxanthin,β-carotene and p.ycoerythrob.lin dominated in these waters. The knowledge on p.ytop.ankton dynamics in coastal waters of the southeastern Arab.an Sea forms a key p.rameter in b.o-op.ical models of p.gments and p.oductivity and for the interp.etation of remotely sensed ocean color data.

This p.p.r p.esents an ap.roach to imp.ove medical image retrieval， p.rticularly for b.ain tumors， b. addressing the gap.b.tween low-level visual and high-level p.rceived contents in MRI， X-ray， and CT scans. Traditional methods b.sed on color， shap.， or texture are less effective. The p.op.sed solution uses machine learning to handle high-dimensional image features， reducing comp.tational comp.exity and mitigating issues caused b. artifacts or noise. It emp.oys a genetic algorithm for feature reduction and a hyb.id residual UNet (HResUNet) model for region-of-interest (ROI) segmentation and classification， with enhanced image p.ep.ocessing. The study examines various loss functions， finding that a hyb.id loss function yields sup.rior results， and the GA-HResUNet model outp.rforms the HResUNet. Comp.rative analysis with state-of-the-art models shows a 4% imp.ovement in retrieval accuracy.
