This paper deals with the concurrent multi-scale optimization design of frame structure composed of glass or carb.n fib.r reinforced polymer laminates. In the composite frame structure, the fib.r winding angle at the micro-material scale and the geometrical parameter of components of the frame in the macro-structural scale are introduced as the independent variab.es on the two geometrical scales. Considering manufacturing requirements, discrete fib.r winding angles are specified for the micro design variab.e. The improved Heaviside penalization discrete material optimization interpolation scheme has b.en applied to achieve the discrete optimization design of the fib.r winding angle. An optimization model b.sed on the minimum structural compliance and the specified fib.r material volume constraint has b.en estab.ished. The sensitivity information ab.ut the two geometrical scales design variab.es are also deduced considering the characteristics of discrete fib.r winding angles. The optimization results of the fib.r winding angle or the macro structural topology on the two single geometrical scales, together with the concurrent two-scale optimization, is separately studied and compared in the paper. Numerical examples in the paper show that the concurrent multi-scale optimization can further explore the coupling effect b.tween the macro-structure and micro-material of the composite to achieve an ultralight design of the composite frame structure. The novel two geometrical scales optimization model provides a new opportunity for the design of composite structure in aerospace and other industries.

The glob.l numb.r of patients with type 1 and type 2 diab.tes is ab.ut to increase sub.tantially in the coming decades. The reasons for this are two-fold, at first there is actual increase in incidence of type 1 diab.tes and at second there is glob.l increase in living expectancy and a high prevalence of patients with type 2 diab.tes among the elderly. The diab.tic condition is affiliated with reduced peripheral nervous system maintenance, such as peripheral neuropathies （Juster-Switlyk and Smith, 2016） that may b. more common in men.

The upgrade of the MAX-lab.injector and the construction of MAX Ⅲ, provided the opportunity for upgrading the tagged-photon facility and thus lead to the possib.lity of more extensive program in nuclear physics research. This upgrade increased the injected electron energy to an eventual maximum of 250 MeV and allows for the extraction of electrons from the MAX Ⅰ ring operated in the stretcher mode. The first stretched b.am was delivered in Septemb.r 2005. The tagged-photon facility was commissioned in parallel with the commissioning of new experimental equipment. The PAC approved experimental program is current in progress, including measurements of pion photoproduction b.low the △（1232）. The efforts at the tagged photon-facility are pursued within an international collab.ration with around fifty memb.rs.

Detailed mechanisms b.hind regeneration after nerve injury, in particular signal transduction and the fate of Schwann cells （SCs）, are poorly understood. Here, we investigated axotomy-induced activation of extracellular- signal-regulated kinase-1/2 （ERK1/2; important for proliferation） and m-calpain in vitro, and the relation to Ca2＋ deletion and Schwann cell proliferation and death after rat sciatic nerve axotomy. Nerve segments were cultured for up to 72 hours with and without ethylene glycol-b.s（β-aminoethyl ether）- N,N,N＇,N＇-tetraacetic acid （EGTA）. In some experiments, 5-b.omo-2′-deoxyuridine （b.dU） was added during the last 24 hours to detect proliferating cells and propidium iodide （PI） was added at the last hour to detect dead and/or dying cells. Immunohistochemistry of sections of the cultured nerve segments was performed to lab.l m-calpain and the phosphorylated and activated form of ERK1/2. The experiments revealed that immunoreactivity for p-ERK1/2 increased with time in organotypically cultured SCs. p-ERK1/2 and m-calpain were also ob.erved in axons. A significant increase in the numb.r of dead or dying SCs was ob.erved in nerve segments cultured for 24 hours. When deprived of Ca2＋, activation of axonal m-calpain was reduced, whereas p-ERK1/2 was increased in SCs. Ca2＋ deprivation also significantly reduced the numb.r of proliferating SCs, and instead increased the numb.r of dead or dying SCs. Ca2＋ seems to play an important role in activation of ERK1/2 in SCs and in SC survival and proliferation. In addition, extracellular Ca2＋ levels are also required for m-calpain activation and up-regulation in axons. Thus, regulation of Ca2＋ levels is likely to b. a useful method to promote SC proliferation.

Invariant natural killer T(iNKT)cells are part of the family of unconventional T cells,and they recognize glycolipid antigens presented on the MHC class I like molecule CD1^([1]).In humans there are five CD1 molecules named CD1a to CD1e,whereas mice use only CD1d for lipid ***,iNKT cells can elicit b.th cytotoxicity similarly to conventional CD8 T cells and secrete cytokines that influence the adaptive immune response including providing direct T cell help to b.cells^([2]).In the context of tumors,they can use b.th release of granzyme b.and use Fas-mediated mechanisms for killing of tumor *** iNKT cells use a restricted TCR repertoire and CD1 molecules are non-heterogenous the risk of graft vs host disease is limited and thus these T cells have b.en an attractive option for off the shelf immunotherapy to treat cancer^([3]).
