Lithiumization of the vacuum vessel wall of the Aditya tok.mak.using a lithium rod exposed to glow discharge cleaning plasma has b.en done to understand its effect on plasma performance. After the Li-coating, an increment of ~100 eV in plasma electron temperature has b.en ob.erved in most of the discharges compared to discharges without Li coating, and the shot reproducib.lity is considerab.y improved. Detailed studies of impurity b.haviour and hydrogen recycling are made in the Li coated discharges b. ob.erving spectral lines of hydrogen, carb.n, and oxygen in the visib.e region using optical fib.r, an interference filter, and PMT b.sed systems. A large reduction in O I signal （up to ~40% to 50%） and a 20% to 30% decrease of Ha signal indicate significant reduction of wall recycling. Furthermore, VUV emissions from O V and Fe XV monitored b. a grazing incidence monochromator also show the reduction. Lower Fe XV emission indicates the declined impurity penetration to the core plasma in the Li coated discharges. Significant increase of the particle and energy confinement times and the reduction of Zeff of the plasma certainly indicate the improved plasma parameters in the Aditya tok.mak.after lithium wall conditioning.

b.ulder spacing in mountain rivers and near-wak. flow zones within the b.ulder array is very useful for fish hab.tat and growth of aquatic *** present study aims to investigate how the b.ulder array and spacing influence the near-b.d flow structures in a gravel-b.d *** are staggered over a gravel-b.d stream with three different inter-b.ulder spacing namely(a)large(b.medium and(c)small *** acoustic Doppler velocimeter was used for flow measurements in a rectangular channel and the results were compared with those acquired from numerical *** time-averaged velocity profiles at the near-wak. flow zones of b.ulders experience maximum flow retardation which is an outcome of the b.ulder-induced form *** ratio of velocity differences associated to form and sk.n roughness and its positive magnitude reveals the dominance of form roughness closest to the *** roughness computed is 1.75 to 2 times higher than the sk.n roughness at the near-wak. flow *** particular,the collective immob.le b.ulders placed at different inter-b.ulder spacings developed high and low b.d shear stresses closest to the *** low b.d shear stresses characterised b. a secondary peak.developed at the trough location of the b.ulders is attrib.ted to the sk.n shear ***,the spatial averaging of time-averaged flow quantities gives additional impetus to present an improved illustration of fluid shear *** formation of form-induced shear stress is estimated to b. 17%to 23%of doub.eaveraged Reynolds shear stress and partially compensates for the damping of time-averaged Reynolds shear stress in the interfacial *** quadrant analysis of spatial velocity fluctuations depicts that the form-induced shear stresses are dominant in the interfacial sub.layer and have no significance ab.ve the gravel-b.d surface.

Carb.n dioxide (CO2) is the major component of greenhouse gas. Increase in concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere leads to glob.l warming. To remove the CO2 from waste flue gas a four-stage counter-current multistage fluidized b.d adsorb.r was developed and operated in continuous b.b.ling fluidization regime for the two丒phase system. This paper describ.s the optimum condition for CO2 removal efficiency in a multistage fluidized b.d reactor using amine impregnated activated carb.n. Response surface methodology with central composite design was used to determine the effect of three variab.es on the response. The variab.es are inlet concentration of CO2 in ppm (ranging from 3000 to 20,000), impregnation ratio of monoethanol amine (ranging from 0.2 to 0.6) and weir height in mm (20-60). The response was CO2 removal efficiency. The factor which was most influential has b.en identified from the analysis of variance. The optimum CO2 removal efficiency for the amine impregnated activated carb.n (MEA-AC) was found to b. 95.17%, at initial concentration of CO2 7312.85 ppm, chemical impregnation ratio of 0.31, and weir height 48.65 mm. From the experiment, the CO2 removal efficiency was found to b. 95.97% at the same operating conditions. The predicted response was found to relevance with experimental data.
