The.aim of the.re.e.rch article.is to study the.me.hanical and two-b.dy ab.asive.we.r b.haviour of alumina (Al2O3) fille. glass fab.ic re.nforce. e.oxy (G-e. composite.. Alumina fille. G-e.composite. containing 0, 5, 7.5 and 10 wt% we.e.pre.are. using the.hand lay-up te.hnique.followe. b. compre.sion molding. The.me.hanical prope.tie. such as te.sile.stre.gth, hardne.s and te.sile.modulus we.e.inve.tigate. in accordance.with ASTM standards. Two-b.dy ab.asive.we.r studie. we.e.carrie. out using a pin-on-disc we.r te.te. unde. multi-pass condition against the.wate. proof silicon carb.de.ab.asive.pape.. From the.e.pe.ime.tal inve.tigation, it was found that the.pre.e.ce.of?Al2O3 fille. improve. the.te.sile.stre.gth and te.sile.modulus of the.G-e.composite. Inclusion of Al2O3 fille. re.uce. the.spe.ific we.r rate.of G-e.composite. The.re.ults show that in ab.asion mode. as the.fille. loading incre.se. the.we.r volume.de.re.se. and incre.se. with incre.sing ab.ading distance. The.e.ce.le.t we.r re.istance.was ob.aine. for Al2O3 fille. G-e.composite.. Furthe.more. 10 wt% fille. loading gave.a ve.y le.s we.r loss.
