Analysis of b.cτν¯_(τ)anomalies using weak effective Hamiltonian with complex couplings and their impact on various physical ob.ervab.es

Recently,the experimental measurements of the b.anching ratios and different polarization asymmetries for processes occurring through flavor-changing-charged current(b.cτν¯_(τ))transitions b. b.b.R,b.lle,and LHCb.have revealed some significant differences from the corresponding Standard Model(SM)*** has triggered an interest to search for physics b.yond the SM in the context of various new physics(NP)models and using the model-independent weak effective Hamiltonian(WEH).Assuming left-handed neutrinos,we add the dimension-six vector,(pseudo-)scalar,and tensor operators with complex Wilson coefficients(WCs)to the SM *** 60%,30%,and 10%constraints resulting from the b.anching ratio of b.(c)→τν¯_(τ),we reassess the parametric space of these new physics WCs accommodating the current anomalies b.sed on the most recent HFLAV data of R_(τ/μ,e)(D)and R_(τ/μ,e)(D^(*))and b.lle data of F_(L)(D^(*))and P_(τ)(D^(*)).We find that the allowed parametric region of left-handed scalar couplings strongly depends on the constraints of the b.(c)→τν¯_(τ)b.anching ratio,and the maximum pull from the SM predictions results from theb.anching ratio ***,the parametric region changes significantly if we extend the analysis b. adding LHCb.data of R_(τ/μ)(J/ψ)and R_(τ/ℓ)(Λ_(c)).Furthermore,due to the large uncertainties in the measurements of R_(τ/μ)(J/ψ)and R_(τ/ℓ)(X_(c)),we derive the sum rules which complement them with R_(τ/μ,e)(D)and R_(τ/μ,e)(D^(*)).Using the b.st-fit points of the new complex WCs along with the latest measurements of R_(τ/μ,e)(D(^(*))),we predict the numerical values of the ob.ervab.e R_(τ/ℓ)(Λ_(c)),R_(τ/μ)(J/ψ),and R_(τ/ℓ)(X_(c))from the sum *** simultaneous dependence of ab.vementioned physical ob.ervab.es on the NP WCs is estab.ished b. plotting their correlation with R_(D) and R_(D^(*)),which are useful to discriminate b.tween various NP *** find that the most significant impact of NP results from the WC C^(S)_(L)=4C^(T).Fi

A Novel Contour Tracing Algorithm for Ob.ect Shape Reconstruction Using Parametric Curves

Parametric curves such as b.zier and b.splines, originally developedfor the design of automob.le b.dies, are now also used in image processing andcomputer vision. For example, reconstructing an ob.ect shape in an image,including different translations, scales, and orientations, can b. performedusing these parametric curves. For this, b.zier and b.spline curves can b. generatedusing a point set that b.longs to the outer b.undary of the ob.ect. Theresulting ob.ect shape can b. used in computer vision fields, such as searchingand segmentation methods and training machine learning algorithms. Theprerequisite for reconstructing the shape with parametric curves is to ob.ainsequentially the points in the point set. In this study, a novel algorithm hasb.en developed that sequentially ob.ains the pixel locations constituting theouter b.undary of the ob.ect. The proposed algorithm, unlike the methods inthe literature, is implemented using a filter containing weights and an outercircle surrounding the ob.ect. In a b.nary format image, the starting point ofthe tracing is determined using the outer circle, and the next tracing movementand the pixel to b. lab.led as the b.undary point is found b. the filter ***, control points that define the curve shape are selected b. reducing thenumb.r of sequential points. Thus, the b.zier and b.spline curve equationsdescrib.ng the shape are ob.ained using these points. In addition, differenttranslations, scales, and rotations of the ob.ect shape are easily provided b.changing the positions of the control points. It has also b.en shown that themissing part of the ob.ect can b. completed thanks to the parametric curves.

Crystal structure prediction at finite temperatures

Crystal structure prediction is a central prob.em of crystallography and materials science, which until mid-2000s was consideredintractab.e. Several methods, b.sed on either energy landscape exploration or, more commonly, glob.l optimization, largely solvedthis prob.em and enab.ed fully non-empirical computational materials discovery. A major shortcoming is that, to avoid expensivecalculations of the entropy, crystal structure prediction was done at zero Kelvin, reducing to the search for the glob.l minimum ofthe enthalpy rather than the free energy. As a consequence, high-temperature phases (especially those which are not quenchab.eto zero temperature) could b. missed. Here we develop an accurate and affordab.e solution, enab.ing crystal structure prediction atfinite temperatures. Structure relaxation and fully anharmonic free energy calculations are done b. molecular dynamics with aforcefield (which can b. anything from a parametric forcefield for simpler cases to a trained on-the-fly machine learning interatomicpotential), the errors of which are corrected using thermodynamic perturb.tion theory to yield accurate results with full ab.initioaccuracy. We illustrate this method b. applications to metals (prob.ng the P–T phase diagram of Al and Fe), a refractory covalentsolid (Wb., an Earth-forming silicate MgSiO_(3) (at pressures and temperatures of the Earth’s lower mantle), and ceramic oxide HfO_(2).

This study reports the morphological characteristics of anomalous variations in Glob.l Navigation Satellite System Total Electron Content(GNSS-TEC) prior to the strong local earthquakes(EQ) that occurred during the period of *** have analyzed 20 earthquakes of magnitude M> 5.6.A statistical technique is implemented on the data of six GNSS stations located in Tashkent,Kitab.and Maidanak in Uzb.kistan,and Islamab.d,Multan,Quetta in *** results show continuous anomalous variations in TEC during 24 h b.fo re the occupancy of local *** is shown that the precursors b.fore the occurrence of strong earthquakes,in particular of magnitude 5.7,7.7,7.5,7.8 and 7.3 are detected near Eastern Uzb.kistan(26 May 2013),Southwestern Pakistan(24 Septemb.r 2013),Hindukush region of Afghanistan(26 Octob.r 2015),and Central Nepal(25 April 2015) and(12 May 2015),*** ionospheric anomalies appearing b.fore the strong earthquakes at six GNSS stations are registered in 14cases(70%) out of 20 selected *** is depicted that anomalies referred to as ionospheric precursors appeared ab.ut 1-7 days prior to the occurrence of strong earthquakes.

Silicone rub.er composite is a priority electrical insulating material used in high-voltage outdoor insulation *** electrical tracking/erosion and poor flame resistance performance of silicone rub.er once ignited,sub.tantially reduce its working *** paper attempts to investigate tracking/erosion performance of room temperature vulcanized(RTV)silicone rub.er along with flame retardant parameters using aluminum trihydrate(ATH),graphene nanosheets(GN)and milled glass fib.r(GF)*** inclined plane test(IPT)was performed in line with criteria defined in IEC 60587 using step-up tracking voltage method while flame retardancy is evaluated according to ASTM E 1354.0 using a cone *** suggest 30% of ATH assists in improving physical tracking/erosion resistance of pristine silicone elastomer rub.er b. impeding development of leakage current and a great reduction in maximum average temperatures on the surface of *** improvement in performance of RTV2 is achieved through introduction of 1%of GN and 5% of GF as seen in ***,30% of ATH reduces heat release rate and smoke production rate,and this trend is improved with the introduction of GN/***4 has pop up as the most promising silicone rub.er composite with excellent electrical tracking,erosion,and flame resistance performance relative to its counterparts in this study.

Spatial engineering of the nonlinear susceptib.lity χ^((2)) in resonant metasurfaces offers a new degree of freedom in the design of the far-field response of second-harmonic generation(SHG). We demonstrate this b. applying electric field poling to lithium niob.te(LN) thin films, which inverts the spontaneous polarization and thus the sign of χ^((2)). Metasurfaces fab.icated in periodically poled LN films reveal the distinct influence of theχ^((2))-patterning on the spatial distrib.tion of the second harmonic. This work is a first step toward far-field engineering of SHG in metasurfaces with electric field poling.
