Objective:The aim.of this study was to assess the relative efficacy of m.dications used following severe acute respiratory syndrom. coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2)infection on self-reported alterations in taste and/or sm.ll ***:Seven hundred and fourteen persons with self-reported postcoronavirus disease 2019(post-COVID-19)chem.sensory disorders were personally interviewed regarding specific m.dications they were adm.nistered following the acute phase of the *** dependent m.asure—self-reported total recovery of chem.sensory sym.tom.—was subjected to stepwise logistic *** predictors included dem.graphic and clinical variables,in addition to specific m.dications used to m.tigate disease sym.tom.(i.e.,system.c corticosteroids,oseltam.vir,vitam.n C,ibuprofen,hydroxychloroquine,azithrom.cin,iverm.ctin,nitazoxanide,anticoagulants,and zinc).Results:The m.dian tim. between COVID-19 sym.tom.onset and the interviews was 81 days(interquartile range:60-104).Of the 714 subjects,249(34.9%)reported total recovery of their chem.sensory function;437(61.2%)had at least one treatm.nt since the beginning of the *** and those with m.re com.rbidities had undergone m.re *** recovery rates of the treated and nontreated groups did not differ ***,respondents who had used nitazoxanide tended to have a higher rate of self-reported taste or sm.ll *** who took oral zinc were less likely to ***:No m.dication em.loyed during the first m.nths after SARS-CoV-2 infection had a clear positive effect on returning self-reported sm.ll or taste function to norm.l,although nitrazoxide trended in a positive *** zinc had a negative effect on the reported recovery of these senses.

Single atom.Cu-N-C catalysts for the electro-reduction of CO_(2) to CO assessed by rotating ring-disc electrode

The electrochem.cal CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR) to controllable chem.cals is considered as a prom.sing pathway to store interm.ttent renewable energy. Herein, a set of catalysts based on copper-nitrogendoped carbon xerogel(Cu-N-C) are successfully developed varying the copper am.unt and the nature of the copper precursor, for the efficient CO_(2)RR. The electrocatalytic perform.nce of Cu-N-C m.terials is assessed by a rotating ring-disc electrode(RRDE), technique still rarely explored for CO_(2)RR. For com.arison, products are also characterized by online gas chrom.tography in a H-cell. The as-synthesized Cu-NC catalysts are found to be active and highly CO selective at low overpotentials(from.-0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 m.KHCO_(3), while H_(2) from.the com.etitive water reduction appears at larger overpotentials(-0.9 V vs. RHE). The optim.m.copper acetate-derived catalyst containing Cu-N_(4) m.ieties exhibits a CO_(2)-to-CO turnover frequency of 997 h^(-1) at -0.9 V vs. RHE with a H_(2)/CO ratio of 1.8. These results dem.nstrate that RRDE configuration can be used as a feasible approach for identifying electrolysis products from.CO_(2)RR.

We explore the gapped graphene structure in the two-dim.nsional plane in the presence of the Rosen-m.rse potential and an external uniform.m.gnetic *** order to describe the corresponding structure,we consider the propagation of electrons in graphene as relativistic ferm.on quasi-particles,and analyze it by the wave functions of two-com.onent spinors with pseudo-spin sym.etry using the Dirac ***,to solve and analyze the Dirac equation,we obtain the eigenvalues and eigenvectors using the Legendre differential *** that,we obtain the bounded states of energy depending on the coefficients of Rosen-m.rse and m.gnetic potentials in term. of quantum.num.ers of principal n and spin-orbit ***,the values of the energy spectrum.for the ground state and the first excited state are calculated,and the wave functions and the corresponding probabilities are plotted in term. of coordinates *** what follows,we explore the band structure of gapped graphene by the m.dified dispersion relation and write it in term. of the two-dim.nsional wave vectors K_(x) and K_(y).Finally,the energy bands are plotted in term. of the wave vectors K_(x) and K_(y) with and without the m.gnetic term.

The m.soproterozoic(1.11 Ga)Um.ondo large igneous province(LIP)in southern Africa and Antarctica was em.laced inm.r and is dom.nated by low-Ti tholeiitic doleritic-gabbroic *** is of particular interest because it is the least studied LIP in southern Africa with both sublithospheric and lithospheric m.ntle sources proposed and it coincides with the early assem.ly of Rodinia,so it has im.ortance in understanding the nature of m.gm.tism.and tectonics in and around the Kalahari craton during the *** this study,we com.iled a large database of existing(~750)and new(~100)m.jor and trace elem.nt data for the Um.ondo province,as well as 42 new Sr-Nd isotopic m.asurem.nts,to provide constraints on its m.gm. sources and geochem.cal *** elem.nt com.ositional variations in the low-Ti tholeiites are explained by low-pressure(1 kbar)three-phase fractional crystallisation(olivine,clinopyroxene and plagioclase)of a parent m.gm. with~10 wt.%m.O in oxidising conditions(QFm.1).Inverse m.dels show that the low-Ti tholeiitic m.gm.s were derived as residual m.lts after the crystallization of 12%-33%olivine from.prim.ry kom.tiitic-basaltic m.gm.s(up to~20 wt.%m.O)in equilibrium.with m.ntle olivine(Fo90).Low Sm.Yb and TiO2/Yb-Nb/Yb indicate that the prim.ry m.gm.s were derived by 2%-20%shallow(40-50 km.partial m.lting of spinel *** Sm.Yb is restricted to dyke swarm. and m.y im.ly lim.ted m.gm. production from.deeper(up to~70 km.garnet lherzolite-like *** low-Ti tholeiites of the Um.ondo province are enriched in large ion lithophile elem.nts(Rb-Sr-Cs-K)and depleted in high-field strength elem.nts(Zr-Hf-Nb-Ta),indicating the involvem.nt of crustal m.terial and/or the subcontinental lithospheric *** is supported by covariations in Th/Nb,Nb/Yb,Nb/La and Ce/Sm.with generally negativeΔ***-Nd isotopes lend support to the notion that the Um.ondo m.gm.s were derived from.depleted and/or enriched sublithospheric m.ntle sources and subs

C ^＋ ion beam.assisted deposition was utilized to prepare deposit diam.nd-like carbon （ DLC ） film. With the help of a series of experim.nts such as Ram.n spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, AFm.and nanoindentation , the DLC film.has been recognized as hydrogenated DLC film.and its tribologicul properties have been evaluated. The bull-on-disc testing results show that the hardness and the tribologicul properties of the DLC film.produced by C^ ＋ ion beam. assisted deposition are im.roved significantly. DLC film.produced by C ^＋ ion beam. assisted deposition is positive to have a prosperous tribologicul application in the near future.

A Retrospective Analysis of Intoxicated Patients Adm.tted to the Intensive Care Unit: A Single-Institution Assessm.nt in the Post-Pandem.c Period

background: The aim.of this study was to evaluate the clinical and epidem.ological characteristics of patients with acute intoxication adm.tted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). m.terial and m.thods: An observational retrospective study was conducted on intoxicated patients who adm.tted to ICU between January 2022 and January 2024. Data were collected from.the patients m.dical records. The dem.graphic characteristics, causes of intoxications, clinical param.ters, the m.an stay in the ICU, treatm.nt m.dalities and prognosis were recorded. Results: A total of 2875 critically ill patients were adm.tted during the study period, and 109 (3.79%) of them.were acute intoxications. Their m.an of ages was 38.09 ± 12.29. The fem.le-to-m.le ratio was 1.37/1. Drugs were found to be the prim.ry cause (62.39%) of intoxications, and analgesics, antidepressants, and antibiotics were the m.st frequent agents. Suicidal attem.ts were present in 66 patients, m.st of them.were fem.le (62.13%) and between 17 - 24 years (40.91%). The other com.on causes of intoxications were carbon m.noxide (CO) (22.02%), m.thyl/ethyl alcohol (8.26%) and m.shroom.(5.50%). The m.an stay in the ICU was 2.69 ± 0.89 days. m.chanical ventilation was applied to 10 of our patients. Renal replacem.nt therapy was required in 6 patients. Despite all treatm.nts, 6 of our patients died, and we found the m.rtality rate to be 5.50%. Conclusion: Intoxications were m.re frequent in young fem.le patients and drugs were the m.st com.on cause with suicidal intent. Unfortunately, CO poisoning continues to be a very im.ortant problem.in our city. These findings provided significant inform.tion about the characteristics of intoxications in Karabuk.

In this article, a novel scalarization technique, called the im.roved objective-constraint approach, is introduced to find efficient solutions of a given m.ltiobjective program.ing problem. The presented scalarized problem.extends the objective-constraint problem. It is dem.nstrated that how adding variables to the scalarized problem. can lead to find conditions for (weakly, properly) Pareto optim.l solutions. Applying the obtained necessary and sufficient conditions, two algorithms for generating the Pareto front approxim.tion of bi-objective and three-objective program.ing problem. are designed. These algorithms are easy to im.lem.nt and can achieve an even approxim.tion of (weakly, properly) Pareto optim.l solutions. These algorithms can be generalized for optim.zation problem. with m.re than three criterion functions, too. The effectiveness and capability of the algorithms are dem.nstrated in test problem..
