bACKGROUND Global education in psychiatry is heavily influenced by knowledge from Western,high-income countries,which obscures local voices and *** To adapt a human simulation model to psychiatric education in a context that is specific to local languages and *** We conducted an observational study consisting of six human simulation sessions with standardized patients from two host countries,speaking their native languages,and following an adaptation of the co-constructive patient simulation(CCPS)*** local faculty became increasingly familiar with the CCPS approach,they took on the role of facilitators—in their country’s native *** Fifty-three learners participated:19 child and adolescent psychiatry trainees and 3 faculty members in Türkiye(as a group that met online during 3 consecutive months);and 24 trainees and 7 faculty in Israel(divided into 3 groups,in parallel in-person sessions during a single training day).Each of the six cases reflected local realities and clinical challenges,and was associated with specific learning goals identified by each case-writing *** Human simulation has not been fully incorporated into psychiatric education:The creation of immersive clinical experiences and the strengthening of reflective practice are two areas ripe for *** adaptations of CCPS can also strengthen local and regional networks and psychiatric communities of ***,the model can help question and press against hegemonies in psychiatric training that overshadow local expertise.

Sustainability of lime stabilized road subgrade in mountainous regions of Türkiye

In this paper the use of lime stabilized subgrade for low volume roads in two regions with high mountains and different frost penetration conditions in Türkiye was investigated in terms of design,performance,and *** on unstabilized and stabilized subgrade were designed for two regions(Izmir and Van),covering all climate *** resilient modulus of the lime stabilized subgrade with different soil pulverization levels for non-freezing and freezing conditions were taken from a previous laboratory *** effects were considered in pavement design using two different approaches,including limited subgrade frost penetration method and reduced subgrade strength *** application and evaluation were performed for all *** stabilized subgrades significantly reduced the thickness of base courses,and the benefit of lime stabilization was highly dependent on soil pulverization level.A detailed cost analysis on the unstabilized and stabilized cases found that the use of lime stabilization in the subgrade provided significant initial cost *** analysis by using the AASHTO(1993)method and KENPAVE software,and quantity effect of soil pulverization level on the performance of low volume roads from a service life perspective,show that subgrade resilient modulus can be *** is also possible to make correct performance estimation in the *** results of the study show that lime stabilization is a good solution for low volume roads in the mountainous regions of Türkiye.

Renal Amyloidosis Following Chronic Osteomyelitis in a Patient with Congenital Insensitivity to Pain and Anhidrosis

Congenital insensitivity to pain and anhidrosis (CIPA) is a rare form of hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy. It is characterized by impaired perception of pain and temperature, anhidrosis and intellectual disability. Self mutilating behaviors lead to accidental injuries. The limb lesions are often infected and frequently progress to chronic osteomyelitis. In pediatrics, amyloidosis usually occurs secondary to chronic inflammatory diseases. The coexistence of amyloidosis and CIPA has not previously been reported in literature. A CIPA case complicated with nephrotic syndrome and renal amyloidosis following chronic osteomyelitis is presented here. This report emphasizes the importance of close follow-up of patients by urine analysis for the risk of developing amyloidosis particularly in the presence of chronic infections.
