Sedimenta.y rocks ha.e been found to host severa. Mn minera.s in a.dition to some economic meta. va.ues. Besides recovera.le a. occurring a. gibbsite minera., the la.ter include Cu, Zn, Co, Ni, U a. well a. ra.e ea.th elements. In this work, the ore ma.eria. wa. subjected to sulfuric a.id lea.hing in the presence of oxa.ic a.id a. a.reducta.t to ma.imize the extra.tion of Mn. The optimum lea.hing conditions to a.hieve a.most complete lea.hing efficiency of Mn with Fe dissolution not exceeding 13% involved 0.5 M sulfuric a.id a.d 0.25 M oxa.ic a.id in a.solid/liquid ra.io of 1/15 a. 85°C for 105 min using a. ore size of -150 μm. The lea.hing beha.ior of the a.socia.ed interesting meta. va.ues (a., Cu a.d Zn) has a.so been investiga.ed.

Hepa.itis C virus genotype 4(HCV-GT4)is a.risk fa.tor for cirrhosis,hepa.ocellula. ca.cinoma.a.d liver fa.lure.a.combina.ion of three new direct-a.ting a.tivira.s ombita.vir,pa.ita.revir,a.d ritona.ir has been recommended for trea.ment of HCV-GT4 *** current study wa. a.med to a.sess the effica.y a.d sa.ety of this combina.ion plus riba.irin in non-cirrhotic,trea.ment-na.ve a.d-experienced Egyptia.s with HCV-GT4 infection in a.rea.-world setting.a.tota. of 255 Egyptia.s with HCV-GT4 infection were enrolled,including 82 trea.ment-experienced a.d 173 trea.ment-na.ve *** of them completed 12-week trea.ment protocol of ombita.vir,pa.ita.revir a.d ritona.ir a. a. ora. dose combina.ion with *** response(VR)wa. mea.ured,a. well a. the biochemica. pa.a.eters rela.ed to trea.ment effica.y a.d a.verse events a. ba.eline a.d a.ter trea.ment,a. 4(VR4)a.d 12(VR12)weeks *** results showed tha. the VR4 ra.es were 98.8%in both groups,a.d VR12 ra.es were 97.7%a.d 96.3%in trea.ment-na.ve a.d-experienced pa.ients,respectively,with no significa.t differences found between the groups concerning VR4(P=0.9)a.d VR 12(P=0.3).The most common a.verse events were hea.a.he a.d fa.igue,which were significa.tly more common(P=0.001 a.d 0.003,respectively)in trea.ment-experienced tha. in trea.ment-na.ve *** qua.ruple regimen wa. well-tolera.ed,a.d the reported a.verse events were genera.ly mild to *** rea.-world setting study confirms tha. the combina.ion of ombita.vir,pa.ita.revir,ritona.ir,a.d riba.irin is highly effective in the trea.ment of HCV-GT4 infection with a.good sa.ety a.d tolera.ility profile.

Hea. a.d neck ca.cer (HNC) a. a.disea.e a.d its trea.ment ha.e a.disproportiona.e impa.t on a.l a.pects of pa.ients’ qua.ity of life (QOL). QOL is a.multidimensiona. construct of a. individua.’s subjective a.sessment of the impa.t of a. illness or trea.ment on his/her physica., psychologica., socia. a.d soma.ic functioning a.d genera. well-being [1]. Thus, QOL has become a. importa.t trea.ment outcome in HNC [2]. Objective: It is to eva.ua.e the qua.ity of life of pa.ients dea.ing with squa.ous cell ca.cinoma.of the hea. a.d neck trea.ed in the ra.iothera.y depa.tment, Na.iona. Ca.cer Institute, Ca.ro University. Ma.eria. a.d methods: Sta.ting from Ma.ch 2012 to December 2013, 87 pa.ients with histopa.hologica.ly proven Hea. a.d Neck Squa.ous Cell Ca.cinoma.(HNSCC) were ta.ing pa.t in our prospective study. The pa.ients’ QOL a.swers to the questionna.re were collected for both the EORTC QLQ-C30 a.d the EORTC Hea. a.d Neck questionna.res (QLQ-H&N35) a.d then a.l points were tra.sformed to a.0 - 100 sca.e a.cording to the guidelines of the EORTC. Certa.n clinica. fa.tors were chosen to eva.ua.e their effect on the QOL;site of prima.y tumor, clinica. sta.e, a.d mode of thera.y a.plied: ra.iothera.y versus chemo-ra.iothera.y (CRT). Moreover, a.e, gender a.d smoking were studied. Results: Ma.ority of the items a.sessed in the QLQ-C30 a.d QLQ-H&N35 questionna.re showed tha. they were nega.ively impa.ted a. the end of trea.ment. a. for the fa.tors tha. ha. a.nega.ive effect on the QOL, they comprised;fema.e gender (p a.e a.s (p a. sta.e III a.d IV (p a.ynx a.d hypopha.ynx a. a.site of prima.y (p a.d CRT (p a. trea.ment options ha. a.significa.t nega.ive effect on the QOL by the end of the trea.ment course. Ba.kground: Diabetes mellitus and breast cancer are both chronic diseases. Breast cancer in patients with diabetes is often diagnosed at an advanced stage and haa.>s worse prognosis. Aim of work: To investigate the clinicopathological factors, hormonal receptor status and molecular subtypes of breast cancer in diabetic breast cancer patients. Patients and methods: Records of patients presenting to the radiotherapy committee of the breast cancer clinic of Ain Shams University Hospital in the period between January 2017 and January 2018 were revised regarding age, presence of diabetes, presence of comorbidities, and type of the surgery performed. Pathological data such as: Tumor size (T), LN staging (LN), ER, PR, Her2/neu and Ki67 status were also recorded. Patients were divided into 2 groupsa.>: Group (I): those with diabetes and Group (II): those without diabetes. Inclusion criteria were Breast cancer cases with proven pathological diagnosis, available IHC studies, clear record of comorbidity status, age > 18 years, cases who underwent upfront surgery. There a.e severa. reports on the preva.ence a.d importa.ce of milk a.lergens in the induction of a.lergic disea.es, wherea. its role in the induction of a.toimmune disea.e wa. ra.ely studied. So, the present work a.med to study the dia.nosis a.d the effica.y of ora. a.tigen specific immunothera.y (Oa.T) on two groups of a.toimmune disea.e pa.ients na.ely, rheuma.ic a.thritis (Ra., group II, a.d systemic lupus erythema.osus (SLE), group III, who has a.lergens for milk a. a. effective trea.ment option. From the a.sessment of the da.a.obta.ned a.d the clinica. outcome of Ra.a.d SLE pa.ients a.ter food elimina.ion stra.egy a.d milk immunothera.y, it wa. evident tha. there were significa.t reductions (P a. IgE, specific IgE, Rheuma.ic fa.tor (R.F), C-rea.tive protein (C.R.P), a.ti-nuclea. a.tibodies (a.a. a.d a.ti-double stra.ded DNa.a.tibodies (a.ti-ds DNa. compa.ed to pretrea.ed levels. Moreover, the immunothera.y induced “blocking a.tibodies” by rema.ka.le highly significa.t increa.ing in IgG, pha.ocytic inhibition test (PIT %), Complement component 3(C3), a.d Complement component 4 (C4) levels. More improvement wa. noticed in the SLE a. a.result of the immunothera.y. Conclusion: milk desensitiza.ion is a.ga.ned interest a.d a.sa.e va.ua.le effective trea.ment of a.toimmune conditions in Egypt.
