Experimental performance analysis of an installed microgrid-based PV/battery/EV grid-connected system

Global energy demand,which is largely based on fossil fuels,is expected to increase *** effort must be made to mitigate carbon emissions and climate change to ensure sustainable and clean *** recent years,the increasing share of renewable energy and energy-storage systems,the development of electric vehicles(EVs),promotion of energy efficiency and demand-side management(DSM)have become today’s solution *** microgrid(MG),which involves the interconnection of several generation and storage units capable of operating locally with or without connection to the power grid,is also a very useful emerging *** study allowed the experimental operation and performance analysis of a grid-connected photovoltaic(PV)/battery/EV MG hybrid system,which was used for maximizing PV self-consumption and DSM *** entire MG consisting of two subsystems(polycrystalline PV array of 2.16 kWp for Subsystem 1,monocrystalline PV system of 2.4 kWp for Subsystem 2,EV with lithium-ion battery capacity of 6.1 kWh)was installed under outdoor conditions at the University Institute of Technology in Mulhouse,France in August *** operation and behaviour of the system components,including the inverter,batteries and power grid,were analysed in both scenarios with and without EV *** results shows that the total cumulative energy injected into the grid during the entire system operating cycle is estimated to be 3466.82 and 5836.58 kWh for Subsystems 1 and 2,respect*** addition,the energy produced by Subsystem 2 during its lifetime and the emissions emitted are respectively estimated at 5597.65 kWh and 4.17 *** other results in terms of PV output power,energy yield,feed-in power and self-consumed energy were quantified and analysed in detail.

Acceptance sampling is a statistical quality control technique that consists of procedures for sentencing one or more incoming lots of finished *** or rejection is based on the inspection of sampled products drawn randomly from the *** theory of previous acceptance sampling was built upon the assumption that the process from which the lots are produced is stable and the process fraction nonconforming is a *** variability is inevitable due to random fluctuations,which may inadvertently lead to quality *** an alternative to traditional sampling plans,Bayesian approach can be used by considering prior information of the *** different combinations of design parameters,this study introduces a Bayesian group chain sampling plan(BGChSP).For the first time in group chain sampling plan,the probability of lot acceptance is derived by using Poisson distribution to estimate an average number of *** distribution is used as a prior distribution with Poisson *** into account both consumer’s and producer’s risks,this research considers two quality regions namely,probabilistic quality region(PQR)and indifference quality region(IQR).By minimizing consumer’s and producer’s risks,BGChSP can be used to minimize the average number of defective products in industry.

On Special Curves According to Darboux Frame in the Three Dimensional Lorentz Space

In the light of great importance of curves and their frames in many differentbranches of science, especially differential geometry as well as geometric properties andthe uses in various fields, we are interested here to study a special kind of curves calledSmarandache curves in Lorentz 3-space. Then, we present some characterizations for thesecurves and calculate their Darboux invariants. Moreover, we classify TP, TU, PU andTPU-Smarandache curves of a spacelike curve according to the causal character of thevector, curve and surface used in the study. Besides, we give some of differential geometricproperties and important relations between that curves. Finally, to demonstrate ourtheoretical results a computational example is given with graph.

Effect of virgin olive oil nanoemulsion combined with ajowan(Carum copticum)essential oil on the quality of lamb loins stored under chilled condition

This survey was conducted to evaluate the impact of virgin olive oil nanoemulsion(ONE) combined with ajowan(Carum copticum) essential oil(AEO) on quality of lamb loin under refrigerated condition. The treatments were control, ONE, ONE + 1% AEO, and ONE + 2% AEO. The treatments caused a delay in growth of mesophilic and psychrotrophic bacteria, Enterobacteriaceae, and lactic acid bacteria during chilled storage. The increasing rate of total volatile nitrogen content, lipid and protein oxidation, metmyoglobin formation, and color deterioration was more retarded in treatment groups. The treatments including ONE + 1% AEO and ONE + 2% AEO were more efficient than ONE alone to delay microbial flora growth, slow down oxidative processes, and improve color in the loins. According to the results of microbial, chemical, and sensory parameters, shelflife of lamb loins was 4 days in control, 8 days in ONE, and at least 16 days in ONE + 1% AEO and ONE + 2% AEO groups. In conclusion, combination of ONE and AEO is appropriate as natural preservative to extend the shelflife of lamb loins stored under chilled condition.

The alignment operation between many protein sequences or DNAsequences related to the scientific bioinformatics application is very *** is a trade-off in the objectives in the existing techniques of MultipleSequence Alignment (MSA). The techniques that concern with speed ignoreaccuracy, whereas techniques that concern with accuracy ignore speed. Theterm alignment means to get the similarity in different sequences with highaccuracy. The more growing number of sequences leads to a very complexand complicated problem. Because of the emergence;rapid development;anddependence on gene sequencing, sequence alignment has become importantin every biological relationship analysis process. Calculating the numberof similar amino acids is the primary method for proving that there is arelationship between two sequences. The time is a main issue in any alignmenttechnique. In this paper, a more effective MSA method for handling themassive multiple protein sequences alignment maintaining the highest accuracy with less time consumption is proposed. The proposed method dependson Artificial Fish Swarm (AFS) algorithm that can break down the mostchallenges of MSA problems. The AFS is exploited to obtain high accuracyin adequate time. ASF has been increasing popularly in various applicationssuch as artificial intelligence, computer vision, machine learning, and dataintensive application. It basically mimics the behavior of fish trying to getthe food in nature. The proposed mechanisms of AFS that is like preying,swarming, following, moving, and leaping help in increasing the accuracy andconcerning the speed by decreasing execution time. The sense organs that aidthe artificial fishes to collect information and vision from the environmenthelp in concerning the accuracy. These features of the proposed AFS make thealignment operation more efficient and are suitable especially for large-scaledata. Wormlions prefer both fine and deep sand but only deep sand leads to better performance

Wormlions are small fly larvae that dig pits in loose soil to trap their prey. Similar to other trapbuilding predators, like spiders and antlions, they depend on the habitat structure for successful trap construction and prey catch. We examined whether sites at which wormlions are present differ in sand depth and particle size from nearby sites, at which wormlions are absent. Next, in the laboratory we manipulated both sand depth and type (fine vs. coarse) to determine their joint effect on microhabitat pref ere nee, the size of the con structed pit, wormlion movement, and their latency to respond to prey. We expected better performance by wormlions in fine and deep sand, and the sand in wormlions' natural sites to be finer and deeper. However, in only partial agreement with our expectations, wormlion sites featured finer sand but not deeper sand. In the laboratory, wormlions preferred both fine and deep sand, and moved more in shallow and coarse sand, which we interpret as an attempt to relocate away from unfavorable conditions. However, only deep sand led to larger pits being constructed and to a faster response to prey. The preference for fine sand could, therefore, be related to other ben efits that sand provides. Fin ally, body mass was a domi nant factor, interacting with the preference for both deep and fine sand: deep over shallow sand was more favored by large wormlions and fine over coarse sand by smaller ones. Our results suggest that several factors should be incorporated when studying microhabitat selection.

The prediction of the distribution of quantitative variables in a forest stand is of great interest to forest managers, for the evaluation of forest resources and scheduling of future silvicultural treatments. The aim of this research was to model the distribution of quantitative variables for Quercus persica in open forests in Iran. To investigate the probability distribution of trees in natural stands, 642 trees were selected for measurement using a systematic random sampling method. Selected trees were measured and data were analyzed. Gamma, beta, normal,lognormal, exponential and Weibull probability distributions were fitted to the height distribution of trees. Variables of distribution functions were estimated using the maximum likelihood estimation method. Actual probability and probability which derived from functions was compared using Kolmogorov–Smirnov and Anderson–Darling tests. Beta, Weibull and Weibull probability distributions explained the distributions of tree height, DBH and crown area.

Adoption of Improved Rice Varieties in the Global South:A Review

Improved rice varieties(IRVs)play a significant role in establishing food security and improving livelihood in the Global South since its introduction in the ***,the adoption of new IRVs has remained relatively *** low adoption poses a challenge to rice-producing and consuming countries as they are increasingly threatened by production shortages,malnutrition,and poor rice *** empirical studies have attempted to identify the determinants influencing the adoption of IRVs by distinguishing the characteristics between adopters and *** review showed a consensus on the important determinants influencing the adoption of IRVs in the Global *** synthesized from 99 studies suggested that variables(farm size,education,information access and farm location)examined extensively are not necessarily the most important determinants of adoption when undertaking a weighted ***,source of seed and technology-related attributes(perceived yield,maturity,ease of use,marketability and technical efficiency)are more important determinants of adoption,with determinants changing according to adoption type(probability or intensity of adoption),variety type and *** recommendations for future adoption studies include:incorporating more technology-specific variables,increasing research for overlooked regions and variety types,shifting away from predominant static analysis by capturing the dynamics of the adoption process,and considering the potential biases in *** review will facilitate the development of targeted interventions and policies that promote IRV adoption in the Global South.
