Acute central nervous system injuries,including ischemic stro ke,intracerebral hemorrhage,subarachnoid hemorrhage,traumatic brain injury,and spinal co rd injury,are a major global health *** optimal therapies and improving the long-term neurological functions of patients with acute central nervous system injuries are urgent *** are susceptible to damage after acute central nervous system injury,and this leads to the release of toxic levels of reactive oxygen species,which induce cell ***,a selective form of autophagy,is crucial in eliminating redundant or damaged mitochondria during these *** evidence has highlighted the significant role of mitophagy in acute central nervous system *** this review,we provide a comprehensive overview of the process,classification,and related mechanisms of *** also highlight the recent developments in research into the role of mitophagy in various acute central nervous system injuries and drug therapies that regulate *** the final section of this review,we emphasize the potential for treating these disorders by focusing on mitophagy and suggest future research paths in this area.

Various nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems for the treatment of neurological disorders have been widely ***,their inability to cross the blood–brain barrier hampers the clinical translation of these therapeutic *** are nanoparticles composed of lipid bilayers,which can effectively encapsulate drugs and improve drug delivery across the blood–brain barrier and into brain tissue through their targeting and ***,they can potentially treat traumatic and nontraumatic central nervous system *** this review,we outlined the common properties and preparation methods of liposomes,including thin-film hydration,reverse-phase evaporation,solvent injection techniques,detergent removal methods,and microfluidics ***,we comprehensively discussed the current applications of liposomes in central nervous system diseases,such as Alzheimer's disease,Parkinson's disease,Huntington's disease,amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,traumatic brain injury,spinal cord injury,and brain *** studies related to liposomes are still in the laboratory stage and have not yet entered clinical ***,their application as drug delivery systems in clinical practice faces challenges such as drug stability,targeting efficiency,and ***,we proposed development strategies related to liposomes to further promote their development in neurological disease research.

The conventional design of metal-organic frameworks (MoFs) with room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) mostly relies on using heavy metals,as the heavy atom effect can effectively increase the efficiency of intersystem crossing (ISC) to get a better phosphorescence *** the first time,we reported the highly efficient RTP of a lithium-based MoF IMU-101 with a lifetime (τ) of 299 ms and a quantum yield (QY) of 4.91%.In addition,MoFs IMU-102 and IMU-103,with sodium and cesium as metal nodes,were successfully *** phosphorescence properties of this series of alkali metal MoFs were systematically studied and *** crystallography and computational calculation show that the mechanism for achieving RTP for this material lies in the ultrashort coordination bond of Li,which enables the reduction of non-radiative ***-101,as a cheap and environmentally friendly room-temperature phosphorescent material,has been further developed into composite polymer inks and bulk *** makes them promising for applications in anti-counterfeiting and information encryption.

To address the issue of temperature cross-sensitivity in refractive index （RI） measurement， a fiber-optic Surface Plasmon Resonance （SPR） sensor based on dual D-shaped no-core fiber （NCF） is proposed and designed. The sensor mainly consists of D-shaped NCF， Ag/Fe2o3composite film， and polydimethylsiloxane （PDMS）， where the silver and Fe2o3are successively coated on both D-shaped surfaces of NCF to generate SPR and enhance the oxidation resistance. The layer of PDMS coated on one D-shaped surface acts as a tunable ambient medium sensing the temperature variation and affecting the transmission spectrum of the sensor. Since the surface plasmon waves are excited in the two D-shaped surfaces with different films， the two RI and temperature-dependent spectral resonance peaks with different wavelengths will be produced. Research results demonstrate that the two peaks’ wavelengths have different responses to the variations of ambient RI and temperature. In the refractive index range of 1.36-1.376 and temperature range of 10-100 °C， the RI and temperature sensitivities reach to 5000 nm/RIU and -0.546 nm/°C， respectively. With the sensitivity coefficient matrix， simultaneous measurement of refractive index and temperature can be realized， and the corresponding accuracy is superior to 0.4×10-5RIU and 0.037°C.

Background:As a novel blocker of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VeGFR), fruquintinib has been approved for treating colorectal cancer (CRC). However, its dosage and therapeutic efficacy are limited by its widespread adverse reactions. Venetoclax, recognized as the initial inhibitor of B-cell lymphoma protein 2 (BCL2), has shown potential in boosting the effectiveness of immunotherapy against CRC. This study investigated the efficacy and mechanisms of fruquintinib combined with venetoclax in treating CRC.Methods and Materials:We developed a colon cancer mouse model with the CT26 colon cell line to demonstrate fruquintinib and venetoclax's efficacy against tumors. Then we employed various techniques to evaluate different aspects of the experimental outcomes. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect cell proliferation and angiogenesis in tumor tissues. Western blot analysis was utilized to examine the occurrence of cell apoptosis, and flow cytometry to quantitate immune cells within the tumor tissues. Moreover, immunofluorescence was employed to measure cytokine levels.Results:The strongest inhibition on tumor growth was achieved by the combination of fruquintinib with venetoclax, as opposed to individual drug use. Venetoclax was found to amplify the impact of fruquintinib, leading to decreased cancer cell proliferation, increased cancer cell apoptosis, lowered angiogenesis, better vascular structure normalization, and improved immune cell infiltration.Conclusion:our findings indicate that the addition of venetoclax enhances the impact of fruquintinib on vascular normalization and modulation of the tumor immune microenvironment. our study presents the justification for utilizing the fruquintinib and venetoclax combination in treating CRC. Venetoclax holds promise in being assimilated into anticancer medications for CRC.

Postnatal development of rat retina:a continuous observation and comparison between the organotypic retinal explant model and in vivo development

The organotypic retinal explant culture has been established for more than a decade and offers a range of unique advantages compared with in vivo experiments and cell ***,the lack of systematic and continuous comparison between in vivo retinal development and the organotypic retinal explant culture makes this model controversial in postnatal retinal development ***,we aimed to verify the feasibility of using this model for postnatal retinal development studies by comparing it with the in vivo *** this study,we showed that postnatal retinal explants undergo normal development,and exhibit a consistent structure and timeline with retinas in ***,we used SoX2 and PAX6 immunostaining to identify retinal progenitor *** then examined cell proliferation and migration by immunostaining with Ki-67 and doublecortin,***-67-and doublecortin-positive cells decreased in both in vivo and explants during postnatal retinogenesis,and exhibited a high degree of similarity in abundance and distribution between ***,we used Ceh-10 homeodomain-containing homolog,glutamate-ammonia ligase(glutamine synthetase),neuronal nuclei,and ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule 1 immunostaining to examine the emergence of bipolar cells,Müller glia,mature neurons,and microglia,*** timing and spatial patterns of the emergence of these cell types were remarkably consistent between in vivo and explant *** study showed that the organotypic retinal explant culture model had a high degree of consistency with the progression of in vivo early postnatal retina *** findings confirm the accuracy and credibility of this model and support its use for long-term,systematic,and continuous observation.
