Sedimentary Environments Can Be Changed by Geotechnology (Case Study: A Morphotectonic Idea for Design of Extensive Artificial Bay on the Iranian Plateau)

Iranian Plateau between the Lesser Caucasus-Alborz Mountains on the north and Zagros-Makran Ranges on the south has several inter-mountainous depressions which were filled by Quaternary deposits. Geologic evidence implied that, the last marine conditions in some depressions such as the Dasht-e Kavir, Dasht-e Lut and Jazmourian basins, had been changed to land conditions in middle Miocene. Based on shape and elevation of the Dasht-e Kavir, Dasht-e Lut and Jazmourian plains related to sea level and geomorphology of Iranian plateau, three semi-connective artificial lakes can be constructed upon the mentioned plains by consideration of many geologic and geotechnical parameters. These artificial lakes can feed by pumping of water from Oman Sea and form a triple artificial bay which they must be connected together by two gated straits. Therefore, a possible morphotectonic idea with many advantages has suggested that it can be present as an international geotechnologic design. This design has the important environmental impacts which can be changed desert to lake sedimentary basins.

Asmari anticline is a NW-SE fold in the Dezful Embayment sub-basin of Zagros. Fars group (Late Moicene-Quaternary) is cropping out in the cores of anticlines in this area, but Pabdeh and Asmari formations (Oligocene-Early Miocene) have cropped out only in Asmari anticline in the Dezful Embayment. Therefore, it has formed a unique exposure for above formations. In order to this situation, folding mechanism of Asmari anticline has investigated in this research. According to our?results, Asmari anticline has two mechanisms: flexural-slip in post-Cretaceous sequences?(Khami-Quaternary) and fault-bend folding in pre-Cretaceous sequences. So, there is a hybrid folding mechanism that has introduced for the first time in this paper.

Cyberspace is extremely dynamic,with new attacks arising *** cybersecurity controls is vital for network *** Learning(DL)models find widespread use across various fields,with cybersecurity being one of the most crucial due to their rapid cyberattack detection capabilities on networks and *** capabilities of DL in feature learning and analyzing extensive data volumes lead to the recognition of network traffic *** study presents novel lightweight DL models,known as Cybernet models,for the detection and recognition of various cyber Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)*** models were constructed to have a reasonable number of learnable parameters,i.e.,less than 225,000,hence the name“lightweight.”This not only helps reduce the number of computations required but also results in faster training and inference ***,these models were designed to extract features in parallel from 1D Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)and Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM),which makes them unique compared to earlier existing architectures and results in better performance *** validate their robustness and effectiveness,they were tested on the CIC-DDoS2019 dataset,which is an imbalanced and large dataset that contains different types of DDoS *** results revealed that bothmodels yielded promising results,with 99.99% for the detectionmodel and 99.76% for the recognition model in terms of accuracy,precision,recall,and F1 ***,they outperformed the existing state-of-the-art models proposed for the same ***,the proposed models can be used in cyber security research domains to successfully identify different types of attacks with a high detection and recognition rate.

This study aimed to investigate the potential cardioprotective effects of moderate and high-intensity aerobic interval training(MIIT and HIIT)*** focus was on histological changes,pro-oxidant-antioxidant balance,autophagy initiation,and apoptosis in myocardial tissue incited by isoproterenol-induced pathological cardiac remodeling(ISO-induced PCR).Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into control(n=6),ISO(n=8),MIIT(n=4),HIIT(n=4),MIIT+ISO(n=8),and HIIT+ISO(n=8)*** MIIT and HIIT protocols were administered for 10 weeks,followed by the induction of cardiac remodeling using subcutaneous injection of ISO(100 mg/kg for two consecutive days).Alterations in heart rate(HR),mean arterial pressure(MAP),rate pressure product(RPP),myocardial oxygen consumption(MVO_(2)),cardiac hypertrophy,histopathological changes,prooxidant-antioxidant balance,autophagy biomarkers(Beclin-1,Atg7,p62,LC3Ⅰ/Ⅱ),and apoptotic cell distribution were *** findings revealed that the MIIT+ISO and HIIT+ISO groups demonstrated diminished myocardial damage,hemorrhage,immune cell infiltration,edema,necrosis,and apoptosis compared to ISO induced *** and HIIT preconditioning mitigated HR,enhanced MAP,and preserved MVO_(2)and *** pro-oxidant-antioxidant balance was sustained in both MIIT+ISO and HIIT+ISO groups,with MIIT primarily inhibiting pro-apoptotic autophagy progression through maintaining pro-oxidant-antioxidant balance,and HIIT promoting pro-survival *** results demonstrated the beneficial effects of both MIIT and HIIT as AITs preconditioning in ameliorating ISO-induced PCR by improving exercise capacity,hemodynamic parameters,and histopathological *** of these protective effects can be attributed to the modulation of cardiac apoptosis,autophagy,and oxidative stress.

Possible Cortical Spreading Depression Recorded Intraoperatively Following a Generalized Seizure: Illustrative Case

Background: We present a compelling case fitting the phenomenon of cortical spreading depression detected by intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) following an intraoperative seizure during a craniotomy for revascularization. Cortical spreading depression (CSD, also called cortical spreading depolarization) is a pathophysiological phenomenon whereby a wave of depolarization is thought to propagate across the cerebral cortex, creating a brief period of relative neuronal inactivity. The relationship between CSD and seizures is unclear, although some literature has made a correlation between seizures and a cortical environment conducive to CSD. Methods: Intraoperative somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEPs) and electroencephalography (EEG) were monitored continuously during the craniotomy procedure utilizing standard montages. Electrophysiological data from pre-ictal, ictal, and post-ictal periods were recorded. Results: During the procedure, intraoperative EEG captured a generalized seizure followed by a stepwise decrease in somatosensory evoked potential cortical amplitudes, compelling for the phenomenon of CSD. The subsequent partial recovery of neuronal function was also captured electrophysiologically. Discussion: While CSD is considered controversial in some aspects, intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring allowed for the unique analysis of a case demonstrating a CSD-like phenomenon. To our knowledge, this is the first published example of this phenomenon in which intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring captured a seizure, along with a stepwise subsequent reduction in SSEP cortical amplitudes not explained by other variables.

Joint roughness is one of the most important issues in the hydromechanical behavior of rock ***,the joint roughness coefficient(JRC)estimation is of paramount importance in geomechanics engineering *** show that the application of statistical parameters alone may not produce a sufficiently reliable estimation of the JRC ***,alternative data-driven methods are proposed to assess the JRC *** this study,Gaussian process(GP),K-star,random forest(RF),and extreme gradient boosting(XGBoost)models are employed,and their performance and accuracy are compared with those of benchmark regression formula(i.e.Z2,Rp,and SDi)for the JRC *** analyze the models’performance,112 rock joint profile datasets having eight common statistical parameters(R_(ave),R_(max),SD_(h),iave,SD_(i),Z_(2),R_(p),and SF)and one output variable(JRC)are utilized,of which 89 and 23 datasets are used for training and validation of models,*** interpretability of the developed XGBoost model is presented in terms of feature importance ranking,partial dependence plots(PDPs),feature interaction,and local interpretable model-agnostic explanations(LIME)*** of results show that machine learning models demonstrate higher accuracy and precision for estimating JRC values compared with the benchmark empirical equations,indicating the generalization ability of the data-driven models in better estimation accuracy.

A new test method was proposed to evaluate the cohesive strength of composite laminates. Cohesive strength and the critical strain energy for Mode-II interlamiar fracture of E-glass/epoxy woven fabrication were determined from the single lap joint(SLJ) and end notch flexure(ENF) test, respectively. In order to verify their adequacy, a cohesive zone model simulation based on interface finite elements was performed. A closed form solution for determination of the penalty stiffness parameter was proposed. Modified form of Park-Paulino-Roesler traction-separation law was provided and conducted altogether with trapezoidal and bilinear mixed-mode damage models to simulate damage using Abaqus cohesive elements. It was observed that accurate damage prediction and numerical convergence were obtained using the proposed penalty stiffness. Comparison between three damage models reveals that good simulation of fracture process zone and delamination prediction were obtained using the modified PPR model as damage model. Cohesive zone length as a material property was determined. To ensure the sufficient dissipation of energy, it was recommended that at least 4 elements should span cohesive zone length.

Effect of chemical activation process on adsorption of As(V) ion from aqueous solution by mechano-thermally synthesized zinc ferrite nanopowder

Nanostructured ZnFe2O4 was synthesized by the heat treatment of a mechanically activated mixture of ZnO/α-Fe2O3.X-ray diffraction(XRD)and differential thermal analysis(DTA)results demonstrated that,after 5 h of the mechanical activation of the mixture,ZnFe2O4 was formed by heat treatment at 750°C for 2 *** improve the characteristics of ZnFe2O4 for adsorption applications,the chemical activation process was *** 2 h chemical activation with 1 mol·L?1 HNO3 and co-precipitation of 52%?57%dissolved ZnFe2O4 led to an increase in the saturated magnetization from 2.0 to 7.5 emu·g?1 and in the specific surface area from 5 to 198 m2·g?*** addition,the observed particle size reduction of chemically activated ZnFe2O4 in field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM)micrographs was in agreement with the specific surface area *** improvements in ZnFe2O4 characteristics considerably affected the adsorption performance of this *** results revealed that mechano-thermally synthesized ZnFe2O4 had the maximum arsenic adsorption of 38%with the adsorption capacity of 0.995 mg·g?1 in a 130 mg·L?1 solution of As(V)after 30 min of ***,chemically activated ZnFe2O4 showed the maximum arsenic adsorption of approximately 99%with the adsorption capacity of 21.460 mg·g?1 under the same *** results showed that the weak adsorption performance of mechano-thermally synthesized ZnFe2O4 was improved by the chemical activation process.
