Alignment of the hindfoot following total knee arthroplasty: A systematic review

BACKGROUND There appears to be a close relationship between deformities at the knee joint and at the hindfoot in patients with knee osteoarthritis(OA).Despite this intrinsic link,there is a dearth of studies investigating alterations in hindfoot alignment following total knee arthroplasty(TKA)in patients with knee *** To evaluate changes in alignment of the hindfoot following TKA,foot and ankle clinical outcomes in terms of subjective clinical scoring tools following surgical intervention,and to analyse the level of evidence(LOE)and quality of evidence(QOE)of the included *** MEDLINE,EMBASE and Cochrane Library databases were systematically reviewed in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses *** reporting changes in the postoperative alignment of the hindfoot following TKA were *** level and QOE were recorded and *** Eleven studies with a total of 1142 patients(1358 knees)met the inclusion/exclusion *** studies were of LOE II and 5 studies were of LOE *** with preoperative varus knee deformity and valgus hindfoot deformity demonstrated improvement in hindfoot alignment post *** with preoperative varus knee deformity and varus hindfoot deformity demonstrated no improvement in hindfoot alignment following *** different radiographic parameters were used to measure the alignment of the hindfoot across the included studies,with the tibio-calcaneal angle most frequently utilised(27.3%).CONCLUSION This systematic review demonstrated that the hindfoot may display compensatory changes in alignment following TKA in patients with knee ***,the marked heterogeneity between the included studies and poor QOE limits any meaningful cross sectional comparisons between ***,well designed studies are necessary to determine the changes and outcomes of hindfoot alignment following TKA.

Structural Effect on Hydrocarbon Trapping, North Western Nile Delta, Egypt

The present study aims to interpret the available data, that derived from well logs and 2-D seismic reflection data, in the area located northeast onshore Nile Delta, in order to delineate its structural styles and its relation with the basement inferences and regional tectonic, and also to detect the possible existence of hydrocarbon accumulation at the Tertiary-Quaternary sedimentary section. The study area lies between latitudes 30°31' and 31°17'N, and longitudes 30°38' and 31°21'E. Using the available well logs, the average velocity gradients are calculated at El-Wastani, Kafr El Sheikh, Abu Madi, Qawasim and Sidi Salem Formations and velocity contour maps are constructed. The available 2-D seismic sections were interpreted and utilized to construct the isochronous reflection maps to the tops of the fore-mentioned five formations. These maps were converted into depth maps. The depth maps show the predominance of three tectonic trends. The structure contour maps were used to deduce the structural elements affecting the fore-mentioned formations in the area under study. These maps reflect the abundance of the E-W trending faults (sometimes ENE-WSW and in other times WNW-ESE), which characterize the general Mediterranean Sea trend. The second system of structural deformations is trending NE-SW (Syrian arc trend). The third type of faults is the NW-SE trending features (Red Sea faults trend). By integrating the structure contour maps together with the different kinds of maps have been done using different sources of data such as velocity data, the possible locations that can be oil traps for hydrocarbon accumulation have been detected.

Profiling of seed fatty acid composition in 1025 Chinese soybean accessions from diverse ecoregions

The stability of soybean(Glycine max ***)oil is determined mainly by its fatty acid(FA)*** evaluated the FA composition of 1025 Chinese soybean accessions collected from diverse ecoregions and grown in multiple locations and *** observed highly significant differences(P<0.001)between accessions in palmitic acid(PA),stearic acid(SA),oleic acid(OA),linoleic acid(LA),and linolenic acid(LNA)*** year affected(P<0.001)the abundance of all FAs except *** mean PA,SA,OA,LA,and LNA contents were 12.2%,3.8%,21.5%,54.2%,and 8.3%,*** geographical origin of the accession influenced seed FA composition,indicating that accessions originating in each ecoregion tend to have distinct FA *** observed significant positive correlations among the three locations and between the two years,suggesting the high heritability and stability of individual accessions across contrasting *** also observed a relatively high negative correlation between the contents of OA and both LA and LNA(r=-0.90 and-0.59,respectively,each significant at P<0.001),providing a potential entry point for developing strains producing oil with higher OA and lower LA and LNA *** would be appropriate for specialized use in the food *** results will be useful in breeding soybean with improved quality to meet human nutritional and industrial needs.

能源危机和环境污染是当今世界面临的两大问题。合成染料造成的污染更受关注,因为与其他污染物处理相比,从水中去除染料比较困难,迄今为止,各种传统技术如吸附、沉淀和混凝用于水处理。近年来,非均相光催化因其高效、低成本和广泛的应用而备受关注。光催化剂在光照时,电子从价带VB跃迁到导带CB,可以发生光氧化还原反应。光生电子迁移到催化剂表面,与O和HO反应生成强氧化性的自由基,可以降解染料。另一方面,人口过多和能源枯竭造成了能源危机。与不可再生能源相比,可再生能源具有显著优势。储能系统通过存储产生的能量供后续使用,为解决能源问题做出了贡献,其中电池、电容器和超级电容器的研究是这些储能技术的最前沿。目前已有大量关于光催化染料降解和电化学储能特性的研究报道,包括各种过渡金属氧化物、硒化物,如Ti O、Sn O、Zn O、Cd S、Fe Se、g-CN、Bi VO和LDH等,其中Ti O、Cu O、Sn O和Fe Se在单一和复合材料中均表现出优异的活性。Sn O和Cu O由于具有丰富的来源、高表面积以及容易与其他半导体材料形成异质结的优点,被认为是Ti O的良好替代品。本文的第一部分研究包括合成的Cu O/Sn O纳米复合材料用于染料降解和电化学储能应用的研究。本文制备了三种不同比例的Cu O/Sn O纳米复合材料,显示出对亚甲基蓝的高效降解活性。与纯Sn O和Cu O相比,Cu O在Sn O（AT-1）上的负载量较低,显示出更高的光催化降解活性。CV分析揭示了在水性介质的电位窗口中从0.0到0.7 V的赝电容电荷存储机制。通过研究所有电极的电容性能发现,AT-1电极在1/10 A/g时获得了260/155F/g的高电容,表明其具有良好的倍率性能。本文的第二部分研究中,通过溶剂热原位/异位溶胶-凝胶法制备了具有不同比例的Fe Se/Ti O纳米复合材料,用于高效降解Rh B和超级电容器应用。研究结果表明,Fe Se/Ti O复合材料增加了光吸收,协同增强了载流子的分离和氧化还原活性。光催化活性分析表明,FT-1样品仅需60分钟即可去除Rh B染料（FT-2、Fe Se和Ti O=90、100和180分钟）,并且经过数次使用后仍具有良好的稳定性（不低于98%）。作为超级电容器电极材料,所有电极在其CV环路和充电/放电曲线中均显示出明确的峰值和电压平台,说明了存在赝电容电荷存储机制。295（FT-1）比其他电极（Fe Se、Ti O和FT-2=210、115和240 F/g）在1 A/g时的电容更高,在10 A/g时达到180,从而提高了82%的倍率能力。高倍率能力是其具有更低电荷转移阻力的原因,从而导致复合催化剂具有更高的电导率并促进快速的电荷传输.

An Automated Approach to Passive Sonar Classification Using Binary Image Features

This paper proposes a new method for ship recognition and classification using sound produced and radiated underwater. To do so, a three-step procedure is proposed. First, the preprocessing operations are utilized to reduce noise effects and provide signal for feature extraction. Second, a binary image, made from frequency spectrum of signal segmentation, is formed to extract effective features. Third, a neural classifier is designed to classify the signals. Two approaches, the proposed method and the fractal-based method are compared and tested on real data. The comparative results indicated better recognition ability and more robust performance of the proposed method than the fractal-based method. Therefore, the proposed method could improve the recognition accuracy of underwater acoustic targets.

Cost Effective Scheme for OLT in Next Generation Passive Optical Access Network Based on Noise Free Optical Multi Carrier

We propos e a cos t-effective multi-carrier generation technique which minimizes the passive optical access network(PON) costs. In this study replacement of laser array with multi-carrier source at optical line terminal(OLT) side in PON is addressed. With 25-GHz frequency spacing, the generated optical multi-carriers exhibit good tone to noise ratio(TNR) i. e. above 20 d B, and least amplitude difference i. e. 1.5d B. At the OLT, multi-carriers signal based multiplexed differential phase shift keying(DPSK) data from all the channels each having 10 Gbps for downlink is transmitted through 25 km single mode fiber. While the transmitted information is retrieved at optical network unit(ONU), part of the downlink signal is re-modulated using intensity modulated(IM) on-off keying(OOK) for upstream transmission at 10-Gbps. Simulation results are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis, showing error free transmission in downlink and uplink with 10 Gbps symmetric data rate at each channel. The receivedpower, both for uplink and downlink transmission, is adequate for all channels at BER of 10-9 with minimum power penalties. Power budget is calculated for different splitting ratios showing excellent system margins for any unseen losses. The proposed setup provides a cost-effective way minimizing transmission losses, and providing greater system's margin in PON architecture.

近年来,关于巴基斯坦老年人抑郁症状和身体失能的问题正在成为社会关注的热点问题。同时,越来越多的文献表明,社会支持是实现老年人福祉的重要条件,来自多方面的社会支持会对老年人的身心健康产生积极影响。然而,社会支持对老年人身心健康的作用尚未引起学术界的足够关注。尤其是在巴基斯坦老年人为研究对象的现有文献中,鲜见社会支持与老年人身心健康关系的实证研究成果。本研究旨在通过实证调查,进一步解释社会支持感在巴基斯坦老年人身体失能与抑郁症状之间关系的中介作用。本研究采取立意抽样方法,在巴基斯坦旁遮普省抽取了拉合尔、木尔坦和费萨拉巴德三个大城市,在每个城市中分别抽取100名老年人作为调查对象,总共获取300个有效样本。本文首先从总体层面描述性了受访者的社会人口学特征。其次,采取Pearson相关分析法分析了社会支持感的三个维度(家庭支持、朋友支持以及重要他人的支持)与身体失能、抑郁症状之间的相关性。又次,运用多元线性回归分析法分析了社会支持感和身体失能对抑郁症状的影响。最后,通过中介效应分析,剖析了家庭支持、朋友支持和重要他人支持对身体失能与抑郁症状之间关系的中介效应。研究结果表明,身体失能与抑郁症状直接相关,身体失能越严重,其抑郁症状水平越高。家庭支持、朋友支持和重要他人支持与抑郁症状、身体失能症状呈负相关。家人的支持、朋友支持以及重要他人支持在身体失能与抑郁症状的关系中发挥了中介效应,三个变量的中介影响影响分别为0.024、0.058和0.034。与重要他人的支持相比,家人支持和朋友支持与抑郁症状的相关性更为显著。基于上述结论,建议政府和非政府机构在强化对对老年人群体社会支持的同时,优化老年人基础设施。同时,政策制定者、医疗保健专业人员和临终关怀工作者应更加注重运用整体性方法加强对老年人的全方位支持,进而更好地保障老年人身心健康。

Impact of electromagnetic radiation exposure during pregnancy on embryonic skeletal development in rats

Objective:To evaluate the teratogenic effect of mobile phone radiation exposure during pregnancy on embryonic skeletal development at the common used mobile phone frequency in our ***:Sixty female Sprague-Dawley rats were distributed into three experiment groups;control and two exposed groups (1 h/day, 2 h/day exposure groups) (n=20/ each group) and exposed to whole body radiation during gestation period from day 1- day 20. Electromagnetic radiofrequency signal generator was used to generate 1800 MHz GSM-like signals at specific absorption rate value 0.974 W/kg. Animals were exposed during experiment in an especial designed Plexiglas box (60 cm× 40 cm× 30 cm). At the end of exposure duration at day 20 of pregnancy animals were sacrificed and foetuses were removed, washed with normal saline and processed to Alizarin red and Alcian blue stain. Skeleton specimens were examined under a stereo microscope and skeleton's snaps were being carefully captured by built in camera fixed on the stereo ***:Intrauterine exposure to electromagneticradiation lead to variation in degree of ossification, mineralization, formation of certain parts of the skeleton majorly in head and lesser in other parts. Deformity and absence of formation of certain bones in the head, ribs, and coccygeal vertebrae were recorded in skeleton of foetuses from exposed dams compare to control ***:The electromagnetic radiation exposure during pregnancy alter the processes of bone mineralization and the intensity of bone turnover processes, and thus impact embryonic skeleton formation and development directly.

Several toxic compounds are known to induce apoptosis in mammalian cell *** human neuroblastoma cells(SHSH-SY5Y)were exposed to the phosphatase inhibiting toxin okadaic acid(OA)or hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)to induce apoptosis as well as generate reactive oxygen species(ROS).Mitoxantrone(MXT)was used as a positive control for *** SHSH-SY5Y cells were transfected with eukaryotic expression plasmid pHyPer-dMito encoding mitochondrial-targeted fluorescent or pHyPer-dCito encoding cytoplasmic-targeted fluorescent sensor for hydrogen peroxide(HyPer).The ERp57,also called GRP58(Glucose-regulated protein 58),is a stress protein induced in conditions like glucose starvation and viral *** ERp57 was shown to translocate from the endoplasmatic reticulum to the cell surface in anthracycline-induced apoptotic ***57 co-translocation together with calreticulin has been suggested to be crucial for recognizing tumor cells to induce immunogenic cell ***57 translocation after exposure to okadaic acid was studied using immunofluorescence and confocal *** studies indicated that okadaic acid has induced the translocation of ERp57 to the cellular membrane.
